"Events are easy!" she exclaimed confidently. "You just need a place, a presentation, and the people!" It's statements like this that make me cringe! Why? Because there's SO much more to executing an event than meets the eye.
Every event needs to be a success for both you (and your business) as well as your attendees. That means you need clarity on your goals and a solid strategy to meet them.
Plus, there a lot of logistics and practicalities that need to be addressed in order to create a pleasant experience.
Don't fall into the trap of thinking it will magically come together! A negatively-received event will do you way more harm than good!
To celebrate Event Organisers Day #TeamZiaBia wanted to share their most memorable event, this is Vicky’s............. "My most memorable event was in our first year as ZiaBia for Special Olympics GB during their National Summer Games that took place in Bath in 2013.
We managed the Opening Ceremony for 8000 people taking place outside the Royal Crescent in Bath, so a very different type of event to those we normally work on in terms of size and location. Special Olympics GB are an amazing charity so was also very emotive. To celebrate Event Organisers Day #TeamZiaBia wanted to share their most memorable event, this is Natalie’s……. "My most memorable event is a conference in Cape Town, South Africa. It is memorable for two reasons, the first being that on the site inspections that took place in December we got stuck in Cape Town because of the snow in England so we were unable to fly back.
To celebrate Event Organisers Day #TeamZiaBia wanted to share their most memorable event, this is Janette’s............. "My memorable event isn’t a huge event in fact it was a Director level meeting for an energy company but they wanted something a little different.
I booked Homewood Park Hotel and Spa near Bath where the day began with Tai-Chi barefoot on the lawn with a teacher who presented them all with a signed copy of his book.
After their meeting, transport arrived and they were taken into Bath City where a treasure hunt took them around the sights – the photos show they had a fantastic time!
On their return to the hotel they enjoyed sheepdog handling (herding ducks into pens), and also ferret racing!
They also enjoyed use of the wonderful spa and superb private dining.
