Im actually currently in sweats in bed but we’re rolling with it. I created this account two years ago with the intention of it being my fitness journal and a way to keep me accountable. I now use it to learn more about real healthy lifestyles (not those crash diets that don’t work) and to meet more people who want to/do live the same way. I am 25 years old and married to my best friend. I was born in California and will be moving back sometime next year. I am a certified medication technician at a nursing home, it is hard work but so fulfilling. I hope to one day be a labor and delivery nurse. How @joe_perry94 and I finished legs last night. Structure for my leg sessions is usually some sort of knee hinge movement either flexion or extension, followed by something explosive (banded leg press, banded hack squat, squat etc.) and finished with an exercise that puts the muscle under a big stretch with load. Reps are currently between 12-15 with 2 minute timed rest. Stretch muscle in between sets. Legs split am & pm.

Hey everyone figure I'd post something for once. Had to take a break from IG and focus on things that matter. 😅 Showing my volume sets. Bench press workout was 2 sets of 10 135, set of 5 185, set of 5 225, set of 3 255, set of 1 285, set of 1 315, set of 19 attempt 225, set of 15 225, set of 14 225, set of 10 225 pause reps, set of 9 225, and a set of 15 185. 💪 I'm happy with how 225 moved today for sure!! Definitely a solid session with my dad @9__finger ! 🤘I will crack 20 225 sometime soon I hope. 🙏 Currently 204 morning BW. Down 21 pounds. 😁
2019 for me is all about improving mental strength and physical health. 🔥👊🏼 Last year wasn’t exactly lazy, it was the complete opposite in fact. To give you some background, at the start of last year I started training with a personal trainer and trained twice a week. Also I did my own workout 3-4 times a week💪🏼. Honestly, I felt exhausted all the time. Looking back I can see now that I was not fueling my body with proper nutrition. 🥗🥪
I realized towards the end of last year that in this social media driven world it is easy to subscribe to something that doesn’t actually suit you. More than anything it is about being more mindful when it comes to fitness, listening to what makes me feel and, of course fueling my body with proper nutrition. 🙏@RPstrength recently launched an amazing diet app and their app is focused on the concept of setting your own pace, something that rang pretty true with me.

Losing weight is a common topic which is talked about frequently but what about gaining weight? Everyone will have different goals and a common goal is to build muscle. There is a lot to consider when it comes to appropriately gaining weight and this paper does a fantastic job of providing guidelines based on the current literature.
These recommendations give us a good place to start with the journey of gaining muscle. As always, people will respond differently so adjustments must be made according to the individual which will allow for the greatest adherence.
Remember, building muscle will take time so stick to the program, be consistent with training and nutrition, collect data (i.e. body weight, training volume, pictures etc.) to ensure progress is being made, and most importantly, enjoy the process!😊

Today, I had one of those leg workouts where you leave 0 reps left in the tank🥵
I literally had to wait a solid hour afterwards to even take this pic cause yo girl could NOT MOVE😂!
This definitely made me realize, however, that I haven’t been giving 110% effort into my workouts the past little while; I’ve just been going through the motions🤦🏻♀️. If anything, today’s lift was a good wake up call to really put every ounce of effort I can into each workout🙌🏻!
◽️BARBELL BACK SQUATS: 2x15 with the bar, 2x8 @ 135, 2x5 @ 155, 3x3 @ 165, 2x2 @ 175, 1x2 @ 185, 1x1 @ 195, 1x15 @ 135 and 1x20 (banded) with the bar.
▫️LEG PRESS & GOBLET SQUATS: 5x6 Single Leg Press superset with 5xAMRAP Goblet Squats.
▫️LEG EXTENSIONS: 4xAMRAP with 3 sec hold at top.
▫️FRONT RACK REVERSE LUNGES: 3x12
▫️SQUATS W/ LONG BAND: 3xAMRAP stepping on long band in the middle & holding both ends (like a squat with dumbbells)

In 2017, terrible back pain blindsided me, seemingly out of nowhere, to the point when it would take me five minutes to put on my shoes. At the time I taught classes and had to ask students and co-workers to demo movements for me.
There were times where I felt hopeless, and started to lose faith that I would ever recover!
With lots of patience and a ton of perseverance, I trained through it and around it...In the end, I came back with a vengeance—competed and won two gold medals and set a state record bench press for my age and weight class.
Stay true to your focus, don’t lose sight of your goals!!
