“Your calm mind is the ultimate weapon against your challenges, so relax”🧘🏽♀️
When we relax, the flow of blood increases around our body giving us more energy. It helps us to have a calmer & clearer mind which aids positive thinking, concentration, memory and decision making. Relaxation slows our heart rate, reduces our blood pressure and relieves tension.
Rest & Recovery is also an important aspect of an exercise program, especially for high level athletes because it allows the body time to repair and strengthen itself in between workouts. It also allows athletes to recover, both physically and psychologically.
Find a day off during the week, switch off everything, put on some calm music and enjoy the nature. It gives that feeling of bliss that washes over you when you “get away from it all” the useless and negative in your head. Spending time in the great outdoors has been scientifically proven to reduce stress levels, help you find clarity, and rejuvenated your mind & body💫

We passed through Squamish, BC on our way home from Whistler and this guy and I bragged to anyone who would listen about how much fun we had on our mother/son adventure trip there. Seriously, the best time! You can read about it on the blog. .
If you don’t take your kids on one-on-one trips, book one now. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, sometimes the planning is half the fun. .
If you’re looking for summer destinations, I’d highly recommend exploring Squamish . I’m hoping we can explore Whistler this summer too. We’ve only thought of it as a winter destination and I’m ready to change that!
Time to start planning for summer. What’s on your list?
Walking into the weekend like..
We’ve been so lucky with all the sunshine lately! Who’s got any snowy weekend adventures planned?

You’ve probably heard the expression “lit” used to describe something or someone truly amazing. 👏🏼 You may also have heard the words used to describe someone who is intoxicated, which is actually a bit closer to the original meaning.
The term was used several decades ago in the ’50s and ’60s. Jazz musicians at the time used the word to describe a fellow musician who was becoming intoxicated but only to the point where they were able to relax and give a better performance. A musician who was just drunk enough was considered to be lit or in the so-called “sweet spot.” 🍭 They would stop short of becoming too drunk, avoiding any motor skill impairment.
The sweet spot was the point at which everything came together in the right amounts to produce the desired effect -- delighting the audience with a performance to be marveled at. So, how did we come to adopt that name?
Well, to put it bluntly, we believe our team is LiT. That is to say, we feel that all the right elements have come together to create that “sweet spot” in which we now reside. These elements include our team of 16 experts in local marketing who have a combined total of more than 110 years of experience dealing with SEO, branding, website design, PR, social media, and marketing. Curious about the benefits of our Sea Salt Surf Spray & how to use it?
When you swim in the sea, you may notice that your hair gets gorgeous messy waves after drying in the sun. The relaxed look you get is due to the effect of seawater on the hair; salt opens up the hair cuticle and plumps up the strands, giving your hair more texture and volume.
The salt component in the spray gives a subtle messy effect to your hair and makes it look like you have spent a day on the beach. A sea salt texturizing spray helps hold your style and allows you to easily achieve more volume and gorgeous, tousled waves.
There’s several ways to use our spray depending on your hair type & length.
For the best results, you should use salt sprays on damp hair so the product gets spread evenly. You only need to spray a small quantity to freshly washed, towel-dried hair.
If you want to achieve this beachy look with long hair, mist the spray into towel-dried hair and twist that section of your hair, then comb with your fingers and scrunch the hair to create messy, loose waves.
You can get nicely texturized short hair by massaging the spray into towel-dried hair. Style with your fingers to create a textured, ruffled look.
If you struggle with fine hair, a salt-infused hairspray might be the solution. It boosts baby fine hair, making it appear thicker and fuller.

A series of photos of my adventure bud Ella on a lake. This week I’ve had a taste of warm sun on my face, and while I’m loving all my winter adventures, I absolutely cannot want to sit on this dock in the summertime ☀️

When I paid my very first visit to the @seatoskygondola last weekend, Copilot Peak was easily one of the first things to catch my eye. I must have taken at least 100 photographs of it before moving on. I'm not sure why I was so fascinated by it. Perhaps it was the uniqueness and appeal of its dome-shaped nature that reminded me of the iconic Lions from back home in Vancouver. #exploresquamish

Coastal rainforest and riding at its finest. Do these forests get any more beautiful than this?
Maybe not but that’s a compelling enough reason for me to spend everyday seeing if it does. -

After I sell a painting, I don’t always know where they end up...especially if a gallery has sold a piece. For example, this painting, I’ve been told, is either in India, Australia...or Garibaldi Highlands :) It’s in one of those places. While the last option seems like the most likely, the extent of packaging that was deemed necessary for shipping seemed over the top for a local drop off...so my money is on one of the first two places...These are the things I think about...The term, “out of sight, out of mind,” does not apply to my paintings. Do you other artists agree?

We had overcast skies pretty much the entire time we were in British Columbia (as expected truthfully). However, there was this one fleeting moment where the clouds parted and the light hit just right. I snapped the photo, then put the camera away. And I’m so glad I did, because as quickly it came, it was gone.

@laurencbridle got new snowshoes, so we decided to make a trip of it. We didn't expect to need them, but brought them just in case. Boy were we wrong (and glad we had them!) there was so much fresh snow from the previous 24 hours!
Traveling in the snow can be very interesting - with over a foot of fresh snow, we were traveling at such a slow pace and exhausting ourselves. Summer trail markers were covered and the poles were not yet up for the winter route - so a lot of route finding and double-checking was in order. Plus, it was a great excuse to take lots of breaks! We occasionally came across existing skin tracks from backcountry skiers which were a blessing in disguise - they made travel so much easier but often weren't taking us exactly where we needed to go. Very easy to get off track thinking you're following a trail!
