One of my favorites in DC right now.
Sizzling sigsig @thegamesportspub.

Don’t forget to add the 🥚 and mix it all up.
Perfect weekend pregame dish. 👍🏼

I hope that joke didn’t crack you up too much. Speaking of crack up, here’s an sandwich from the famous Egg Drop. I got the bacon egg and cheese. .
It was pretty good but I definitely wish they had some crispier bacon. 😩 I don’t like when my bacon is too flabby and fatty. Who else is the same way?
You'll be totally HOOKED on this recipe with one bite! 🐟 If you don’t know how to cook fish you should because the American Heart Association recommends eating fish (especially fatty fish) at least twice per week for heart health. ❤️ Holly's Oven Fried Fish Recipe is the best recipe to add to your weekly rotation to get in those nutrients fish has to offer. I just wish there had been a cheese pull. This mozzarella wasn’t very meaty. 😔
Working on things all day so I just revamped some leftovers. If you view my profile the eggplant parmigiana was just yesterday’s post. ❤️
What do you guys want to see me cook next? I have been too busy cookie decorating to plan anything.
🧄 GARLIC KNOTS from @erewhonmarket. these are perfection. great flavor and texture! a lot of the time classic (non vegan) pizza spots have these and they’re hard and dried out and aren’t even vegan because they’ve been coated with parmesan cheese. not these! these have a great chew and are tossed with just the right amount of olive oil, garlic, salt, and fresh herbs.
IG photos vs blog photos. If you share recipes in a blog, do you use the same photos for both platforms?
I updated my old Albondigas recipe last night to please the Google Gods seems they seem to be extremely picky these days 😅... New photos were taken (more up close and less "styled" format), updated content with new SEO words and added process shots. We shall wait and see if he likes it now lol!
And also managed to take a quick moody photo for the IG good 🤗. (Not sure I'll be doing this all the time..I'm exhausted lol)
Cassava. A grain free flour that’s NOW AVAILABLE IN STORES IN CANADA. 🎉
Make tortillas with it. You’re welcome. 🌮
Actually cassava flour was always available in African / Caribbean grocery stores but are only available in different coarsenesses. I like the Bobs Of Redmill brand. I’ve found it at health food stores. 👌🏻 What’s great about cassava? It’s a pretty high price point but replicates wheat flour in terms of texture once it’s cooked almost 1 to 1 😱
It's no secret we love risotto (👋, @ericjoonho). Exhibit A: this drool-worthy, toasted cauliflower and brie rendition from @howsweeteats. 😍 And don't forget, keep tagging your dishes with #f52warmup this week to show us how you're keeping cozy through these last days of February! #f52grams

Final bites in the form of a kombu ice cream sandwich and rugosa rose toffee 📸 @wannabemichelin
The salted ham & bok choy rice was DELICIOUS. 🍚 Went so well with their excellent XLB and beef wrap. The Shanghainese noodles had a nice bounce and texture but could use a bit more flavour for my liking. Shout out to the server who was a one-woman-show and one of the most efficient people I’ve seen in a while. 🤹🏻♀️ Fluent in English and Cantonese (and probably a few other dialects), she impressed the pants off of me! 👖
vegan mushroom stroganoff ❤️
if you watch my stories, you saw me make this glorious dish last night, and to be honest, I wasn’t expecting much... but it BLEW MY MIND.
simple and minimal ingredients, relatively quick to make, COZY, comforting, and also plant-based. what more could a girl ask for? 😎
I also doubled the recipe to make sure I had lots left to have the next few days! I often do this with recipes - it’s the same amount of work, and why not get more out of it!
you can find the full recipe on @okonomikitchen’s website, or through the swipe up link in my stories!

I can’t believe it took me THIS long to try @horinramen 🥺
The pork bone broth was not too rich, it’s the thinner noodles that I like and their cha siu was very tender. I will definitely revisit again soon especially since the rainy winter seems long from over in Vancouver. Ramen is the way to go! 🍜
One of my favorite things I’ve made in a while! Winter panzanella. I’d had lots of leftover sourdough from the always delicious @lillianstbread , so I made this with it. Roasted vegetables, a bright vinaigrette, all the herbs and fried shallots make this so, so delicious. I topped mine with feta! But this recipe is totally vegan without. If you’re looking for a way to use up a loaf of bread while still enjoying it to its fullest, this is for you. Link in bio. ✨ #venzieats#bovcooks
okay, time to get vulnerable.
something i struggle to work on every second of every day: self love <3 it’s easy to find the things we think are “wrong” with us. blemishes, scars, fat, cellulite… things commonly thought of as “imperfections”
though i still struggle to accept the fact that i don’t completely look like my “ideal self,” i have come a long way in the past few years. in high school, i would literally look at myself in the mirror—at everything i thought was wrong with me—and just cry until i got a headache. i loathed the stretch marks on my butt and inner thighs, the acne on my forehead, my extra belly fat.
i look back now and feel sorry for myself— for wasting all that energy feeling insecure and wishing that i looked different. i shouldn’t have been concerned with my physical appearance to that extent as a teenager, and i know i still shouldn’t be.
slowly, i learned to like my stretch marks— i honestly think they look really cool. I also got my teeth fixed, and exercise to tone my body because being active makes me happy. my skin is great because i eat nourishing foods, drink lots of water, and get lots of sleep :)
I know I’m not alone in feeling unconfident, so i wanna share a few things i do to better my relationship with my body 👇🏻
1. exercise: at the end of a workout, i tell myself how proud i am of challenging and pushing myself. i acknowledge my strength, power, and progression
2. reminders: your body is your shell. what matters is how you treat others. how wisely you use your gifts and talents. the actions you take to enhance your present and future
3. rationality: no one is paying nearly as close of attention as you are to that one area of your body you don’t like. not even the people you’re around daily. think about it: do you pick apart everything you think your family/friends should change about their body? NO! of course not. no one is looking at you like that either
4. growth: don’t like something about yourself? if it’s alterable, change it! it’s okay to want to change the way you look, but in the process of changing, love your body in its current state and thank it for its ability to get you to where you want to be 💕

Chocolate chip pancakes with a homemade chocolate fudge sauce (using @vermontnutfree chocolate chips) for Shrove Tuesday- all gluten free but you’d never know!
Using @kinnikinnickgf Pancake mix- my favorite of their mixes!
thursday and a stack of blood orange bars .
signs of spring are here, but there’s still time to enjoy all the delicious citrus winter brings. these blood orange bars are a sweeter, less tart version of the classic lemon curd. from zest, to juice to candied slices, this is the perfect way to enjoy blood oranges at their peak. grab the link below or in the bio! .

As I slice through, I’m just pretty darn taken by this loaf. ✨ I’m secretly hoping we don’t eat it all because French toast is calling its name...
