Real talk time. I’ve always loved Shrek 2. When I was a kid I loved it because it was funny and it was Shrek, now I love it because I can see how perfectly crafted it is. I am not kidding when I say Shrek 2 is one of the best dramas ever made. Animated or not. The plot of the movie is Shrek and Fiona going to meet her parents in Far Far away, and deal with Prince Charming and Fairy God mother trying to usurp the throne. The main emotional focal point of the film is Shreks inner struggle of being an ogre and seeing how people fear him, and judge him before they even know him, and he is saddened that Fionas parents will just see him as an ogre, instead of the man Fiona loves. Eventually fairy got mother turns him human, and Prince Charming takes advantage of this to try and convince Fiona he is Shrek in order to take the throne, this leads to the A+ 10/10 perfect finale of the film. Shrek and all his buddies return to the castle to stop Charming and to declare his undying love for Fiona in-front of the whole kingdom. And they have the choice to remain human together or to bother return to ogre form, and they understand it’s what is on the inside that matters and so they choose to continue on as ogres. Now let me y’all about the sound track. Literally every song in the soundtrack fits so perfectly into the story and the themes throughout the film, there are two song choices that stick out to me in particular and that’s ‘I Need Some Sleep” which plays while Shrek cannot sleep because he is so sad about how Fionas family views him, and of course the second song that fits perfectly is ‘I Need A Hero’ which plays during the films epic finale where Shrek returns to the castle. Overall I can confidently say this is one of the best movies ever made, and in my opinion is the best animated movie ever made. I give it an A+. #Shrek#Shrek2#Shrek3#Shrek4#Shrek5#drama#comedy#animated#animatedmovie#film#movies#masterpiece#donkey#pussinboots#PrinceCharming#A + #perfectmovie#dreamworks#farfaraway#cinema#moviesof2004#swamp#ogres
Since forever, I have always been afraid of sleeping in #TotalDarkness ⚫ When I moved away from home, I knew I had to acquire a #NightLamp 💡Not a day passes by when I don't gaze at my ceiling and feel like I'm floating in a galaxy #FarFarAway 🌠 It reminds me that it is okay to be afraid, and to let my #Dreams be bigger than my #Fears 🙌 "Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light; I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night" - The Old Astronomer To His Pupil (by Sarah Williams)

#cookiereads Far Far Away by Tom McNeal 🍰
Do you sometimes find that life sucks and want to go somewhere Far Far Away? 🍨
Jeremy Johnson Johnson (yes that is his name) is living in a town called Never Better (yes that is the real name in this book too). His dad is still bummed out about his wife walking out on the family and refuses to leave the house. To top this off their house and business are in the process of foreclosure. And on top of this he is the only one who hears voice of Jacob Grimm.🍦
Ginger is bored with her life. And she also has a granddad who could care less about her. So when Ginger invites Jeremy to the local bakery to have Prince Cakes, which is rumored to have a love spell. You will fall in love with the first person you see when you take to first bite of cake. 🍰
Jacob Grimm is one half of the Brothers Grimm. He died long ago but is unable to pass through. He is tasked with protecting Jeremy from the Finder of Occasions. Only problem is who is the Finder of Occasions? 👻
To me this book felt really drawn out. The first many 70% of the book has to do with the relationship between Ginger and Jeremy which felt really drawn out to me. The plot doesn’t begin till the last 100 pages of the book. I wish the author had spend more time focusing on this plot then the “love” story between Ginger and Jeremy. Also I felt zero connection to the characters except the ghost Jacob Grimm. I didn’t like Ginger at all and Jeremy felt like a boring character to me. The baker was even a stupid character as well. 🥧
