Upper image shows red flowering variety, lower image shows orange variety (I think). These images from two trees side by side. The orange variety seems to be flowering later this year “Corymbia is a fairly recent genus (previously in Eucalyptus) of about 110 species of evergreen trees, generally known as “bloodwoods”, with outstanding terminal flowers. Their nectar-rich flowers are white, yellow, cream, red, pink or orange with stamens held in cup-like bases. Urn-shaped capsules form after flowers fade, against aromatic gum leaves. They enjoy full sun and are tolerant of drought and light frost once established, can tolerate pruning if you so desire and need little else. Most are fast-growing and long-lived.” www.anbg.gov.au/cpbr/cd-keys/euclid3/euclidsample/html/Corymbia_ficifolia.htm

Sherman finished the path for the goats. Hopefully this helps with our mud problems. If anyone needs grading work or driveway and/or gravel work I highly recommend Sherman! The kids love to watch him work. They even ate their dinner outside so they didn’t miss a minute. .

Farmer Adam is busy getting the ewes ready to join in April. We have to make sure the sheep are condition score 3 in order to get pregnant and carry a lamb for 5 months. We've been busy feeding and giving supplements to all our girls.

Three truths and a lie. ⠀⠀
♥ I do not have an Amazon Prime Account but I do have too many subscriptions that I need to find the time to cancel 😬 I’m sorry bank account 🤦🏽♀️
♥ I feel prettier without make up on my face (except my eyes, I looks dead without some eye help)
♥ I learned to swim in the ocean and still tell my dad he tried to drown me in the ocean because I’m pretty sure he did 🤷🏽♀️
♥ I have some serious insomnia if I’m not on top of my nighttime routine 🥱😴
Who can guess the lie?
This customer requested a very mild tuning session on their tractor which we accommodated by achieving a modest 19 hp and 95 nm gain over stock. The 6.6L Perkins engine actually offers amazing tuning potential and we have seen up to 200 hp and 800 nm on this model in the past.
Spec: 135 hp and 585 nm @ Engine
Actual: 142 hp and 592 nm @ Engine
Actual: 129 hp and 1088 nm @ PTO
Tuned: 161 hp and 687 nm @ Engine
Tuned: 147 hp and 1263 nm @ PTO
I feel spring is looming 🐝🌺🐓
Today started off disgusting! With the wind & rain. This afternoon though was so pleasant the sun even tried making an appearance.
I've got our greenhouse tidied up ready for planting veg.. hopefully a more successful year than last. 🤦♀️ Mike has mown the grass because it was starting to look a bit untidy.
The hens have also started laying again.. we take for granted the free range eggs from our chickens through the summer. You cannot beat a home made cake baked with your own chicken eggs. 🥚
I don't know why.. but I just love watching the chickens. There such funny characters. 😂 You can just see the daffodils starting to bud in the background too. (Oh & our dodgy fence that needs sorting out.)

The hjallur is a temple to meat. Dimly lit and eerily silent, it will have whole carcases, legs and perhaps some sheep's heads turning in the breeze. The meat gradually acquires a surface bloom, a fine striation of colours as the bacteria colonise the surface, slowly becoming a palette of delicate blue and brown, copper green and bronze, deepening into shades of charcoal.
Being from farming families we all seem to know the drill on make something quick when there is mouths to feed and nothing instant! So here’s a quick one I’ve done tonight!! Lemon curd pudding!! 100g of butter (softened), same of caster sugar and self raising flour, 2 eggs. Zest of a lemon and a tsp of vanilla essence! Mix it all together and either 3 minutes in a microwave or I put mine in the oven until browning..then add 4 tablespoons of lemon curd which is warmed pour over and heat til bubbling! Serve and add a blob of ice cream or cream of both 😂 I’ve done it with jam, also added some cocoa powder into the mix and chocolate sauce!! Full tummy’s! Love that I have been taught essentials from our farm life and kitchen! #backbritishfarming#farminglife#farmkitchen#lemoncurd#pudding#quickandeasy#farmingfamily#farmersdaughter#homebaked#homemade

Pour notre retour voila une petite video a bord d’un massey avec un plateau
(Notre Dernière Video Liens dans la Bio) .
And on the 8th day God looked down on his planned paradise and said, “I need a caretaker!”. So, God made a farmer!
God said I need somebody to get up before dawn and milk cows and work all day in the fields, milk cows again, eat supper and then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting of the school board. So, God made a farmer!
I need somebody with strong arms. Strong enough to rustle a calf, yet gentle enough to deliver his own grandchild. Somebody to call hogs, tame cantankerous machinery, come home hungry and have to wait for lunch until his wife is done feeding and visiting with the ladies and telling them to be sure to come back real soon…and mean it. So, God made a farmer!
God said “I need somebody that can shape an ax handle, shoe a horse with a hunk of car tire make a harness out of hay wire, feed sacks and shoe scraps. And…who, at planting time and harvest season, will finish his forty hour week by Tuesday noon. Then, pain’n from “tractor back”, put in another seventy two hours. So, God made a farmer!
God had to have somebody willing to ride the ruts at double speed to get the hay in ahead of the rain clouds and yet stop on mid-field and race to help when he sees the first smoke from a neighbor’s place. So, God made a farmer!
God said, “I need somebody strong enough to clear trees, heave bails and yet gentle enough to tame lambs and wean pigs and tend the pink combed pullets…and who will stop his mower for an hour to mend the broken leg of a meadow lark. So, God made a farmer!
It had to be somebody who’d plow deep and straight…and not cut corners. Somebody to seed and weed, feed and breed…and rake and disc and plow and plant and tie the fleece and strain the milk. Somebody to replenish the self feeder and then finish a hard days work with a five mile drive to church. Somebody who’d bale a family together with the soft strong bonds of sharing, who’d laugh and then sigh…and then respond with smiling eyes, when his son says he wants to spend his life “doing what dad does”. So, God made a farmer!

Happy Thursday 💚
I love this Schoffel dupe from Aldi. Nice and warm, looks tidy and is a fraction of the price of the real thing!! They always sell out so fast so I was lucky this time!
A busy day at home for me today - let’s hope the sun comes out 🙏🏼 What are you up to? Have a good one!
