Don’t try so hard to fight against rejection. Sometimes rejection is protection. Even the body rejects what it cannot process. In the same token don’t reject what’s come into your life, out of the fear of rejection. Every time I thought I was being rejected from something good I was actually being redirected to something better. When that better comes free yourself from that rejected mindset so that you can appreciate without restrictions. 💪💪💪 On to something better! Today was a day of rest to let my legs recover from yesterday’s long run. My legs aren’t conditioned for those lengths of runs so my muscles and joints are tender. With my half-marathon competition coming up in 4 weeks, I need to continue to condition my legs. Tonight I’ll be looking for a training plan to follow. I also didn’t get home until 02:00 in the morning after socialising with friends, so felt pretty tired this morning. I realised that yesterday I consumed too many calories (despite burning over 4,000), so today I took extra care to ensure I was under my target. Weigh in and weekly body fat % reading tomorrow.
If ever there was a day of two halves, yesterday was it! I started the day by pushing myself through a limit I never thought I’d break. I ran 26 km. This to some people is nothing. To me, a few months back, I would’ve never thought Id’ve been able to run this far. I called on all my mental strength to get through the final 3 km. My legs felt like lead. They were heavy and stiff, but I got the job done. I set a personal best for a half marathon time and a 10 km time. I’m now looking forward to the next challenge, time to get after 30 km. I’ve got a half marathon competition coming up in mid-October, so I need to come up with some kind of training plan to run my best race. I’ve never ran in an official event before. Tonight I’ll be reading through some material online to get an idea of what I should be doing over the next 4 weeks.
Good start to the day…but I let myself down at night. I was invited to a friends house, where a number of other friends gathered. My friend was providing dinner. Laid out was a big bowl of chilli, nachos, corn tacos, dips, cheese, profiteroles, pita bread and crisps. Given how many calories I burn’t yesterday, you’d think it would be difficult to overeat, but I managed. I was already full, but standing by the kitchen table while socialising, I continued to eat. I knew what I was doing. I knew in my head I was overeating. Belt bursting, I continued to eat. You’d think I’d learn. You’d think I’d have the discipline to stop. Unfortunately not. Let me be clear, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with socialising with friends over food. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the food I ate. I only have a problem with eating when you know you’re full. What are you eating for? I’m searching within myself for that answer. I can’t find it. Poor.
