💚💚Emerald City!! 💚💚 I’m kicking myself for forgetting to take her before picture (she was a heavily highlighted, golden blonde when she came in!) and I learned that it’s nearly impossible to truly capture what this color looked like when it’s pitch black outside (natural light is necessary!), my client may have wanted to kill me for moving her all around the salon and trying every possible light and angle I could think of but she was a good sport and after 5 1/2 hours of work I’m thrilled with the results and the pics!!! Seriously, this green SPARKLED, it was so beautiful, the whole time i was blow drying her hair i was in awe of the incredible shine! It absolutely earned the name Emerald City!
I love having sisters to always be able to play with hair💆♀️ Today I sang, ”Do you wanna build a snowman?” And got the idea to make this little guy in my sister’s hair!
His name is Chilly, because that’s exactly what she was while I was trying to get the perfect shot😂

HOW TO CURL WITH A FLAT IRON 💗
I’ve had a lot of people tell me they struggle with curling hair with a flat iron, it’s one of my favorite ways of curling (especially on short hair), so I thought I’d show you three of my most used techniques! Curling with a flat iron can be tricky at first, so first practice your tension, you don’t want to squeeze the iron too tight because you want the hair to flow through it with ease. Also be aware that the slower you curl each section, the tighter the curls will be and the faster you curl, the looser your curls will be. Think of it like curling a ribbon with scissors, I like to put the hair in the iron, close it, turn my hand over one time and then pull. I’m using my @ghd_northamerica Platinum Plus Styler for all of these curls on my @pivotpointintl Mannequin. PLEASE READ THE FULL CAPTION 💗
BEACH WAVES: pull each section of hair straight out from the head and curl by using your iron placed vertically on the section, close the iron and pull away from the head and down towards the floor. Let the ends of the hair fall out so they remain straight. Alternate the curling direction for each section by curling towards and then away from the face.
SPIRAL CURLS: take the same sectioning and vertical iron position as you did with the beach waves, but now you are going to pull through and curl each section much more slowly to get a tighter curl, and curl all the way through the ends of the hair. I like to do a full row all going the same direction and then flip going the opposite way on the next row.
CLASSIC HARD SET: this is my favorite for classic styling looks. Pull each section straight out from the head and curl using your iron in a horizontal position. Curl each section going under in the same direction, I like to roll the section back up onto the iron towards the scalp to give it a bit of extra indirect heat, then secure each curl with a pin curl clip so they cool down in that shape and you’ll get a perfect set with a soft S wave pattern. #cosmoprofbeauty#beautybymissruby#hairbymissruby#modernsalon#ghdplatinumplus#ghd_northamerica#flatironcurls#hairtutorial#hairvideo#pivotpoint
