Last week I went to Konbi, a small sit at a 10 person counter or take out only restaurant that serves Japanese style sandwiches of which they are well known for their egg salad. This is a GOOD sandwich. I was seriously impressed as I'm not one to go all out for egg salad (or drive to the other side of town for it). The presentation is lovely, with the crust cut off on the sides and whole egg in the middle. The flavor was really good, probably has to do with the Dijon mustard.
They also have pork katsu and fried eggplant which is on the next slide. It was crispy and came with cabbage and Bulldog aka tonkatsu sauce. It was good, but definitely the egg salad was way better. Also pictured are some of their French pastries - canele (delicious!) and their hazelnut financier (decent, but nothing too exciting), and me getting ready to chow down on that egg salad.
JaneEatsWorld: A for the egg salad sandwich. Will need to try their pork katsu next time.
É só arroz e o que estiver na geladeira rs
Refogue alho, cebola e ervas a gosto com azeite
Quando ficarem transparentes acrescente a carne picada
A carne é melhor se for gorda (lombo, pernil, bacon, linguiça...)
Acrescente o arroz, deixe refogar mais um pouco e pode adicionar a água (para a medida do arroz)
Ai é so deixar cozinhar
Vá experimentando para ver o ponto do arroz
Pode finalizar como quiser
Rola de acrescentar legumes também
Não tem erro
Até se perder o ponto fica bom 💛

Lamb shanks, fried chicken, gyros, chicken kebob, meatballs, hummus, falafel, baba ganoush (fun word to say lol), and the list goes on.
Go check it out!
9/20/19, Dinner in Manhattan, New York. Enjoyed dinner at Black Iron Burger tonight, after walking around for 20 minutes trying to find a good burger place with seating. The chocolate shake was delectable (though a little overpriced at $9...), the burgers were juicy, and in the words of aspiring foodie daniel, the fries were “well done with crisp and tang”. However, the service was kind of slow, and the bacon on the burgers was disappointingly cold. Some of my fries were also a little soggy, which made us sad. Overall, a good burger joint, and our waitress was really vigilant about keeping our water cups full (brb running to the bathroom to pee). 3/5 stars | #eatingwithmelon
Beautiful dinner at the Manor restaurant tonight. This place is always a great time ❤️

MEAL PREP! Helping the wifey by making the chicken for the soups she’ll be cooking up tomorrow! Stay tuned for THAT magic!
Whether it be for health reasons or simply just staying on a budget, meal prep is the BEST way to stay on track.
1. Make your meals for the week and only for the week.
2. Make multiple meals to keep things mixed up so it’s not boring.
3. Stock up on frozen veggies (@costco green beans are the best!)
4. No leftovers. If you have left overs, you cheated or made too much food.
5. Soups are a great option: high protein, high fiber, hydrating, and can be frozen easily for later or simple single serving sizes.
6. Have fun and make foods you love.
7. Eat less and feel better.

Three-layer chocolate cake in the middle of week? Yes please!
I’ve always loved baking. Though nowadays I cook more than I bake, baking was the thing that made me love spending time in the kitchen when I was a little child. Usually I bake really rustic and simple things, but sometimes it’s fun to try something more complicated. And what could be better chance to do that than a challenge theme inspired by The Great British Bake-off! So this is my 5th entry for #eatcaptureshare challenge by @thelittleplantation . 🍩
The recipe of this rich chocolate hazelnut cake was inspired, again, by amazing @linda_lomelino . I love to keep my cakes pretty rustic looking and decorate them with wild flowers or leaves from my own garden.
Would you like to have a piece of this heavenly moist chocolate cake?
