It's always exciting to know new vegetables, cook and include them in daily diet. Strolling in INA market, bunch of green veggies caught my attention...Bok Choy or pok choi, a chinese cabbage. After googling it for a while, decided to cook it.
It has its own earthy taste with powerful antioxidant properties. I was surprised to read about its anti cancer properties. It cooks real fast...sounds Interesting, lets get going. Lets make our daily rice more intersting.
Bok Choy: 4-5 pieces, quartered
Garlic: 4-5 garlic cloves minced
Green Chilli: 3-4 chopped
Soy sauce: 3 tbsp
Honey: 2 tbsp
Rice: 3 cups cooked
Salt to taste
Sesame oil: 2 tbsp
Sesame seeds for dressing
Method: Saute green chilli and garlic, avoid burning it.
Add bok choy, give it a nice stir. Cook for a while on high heat.
Turning heat on low add rice, mix well. Add salt while mixing it.
Stir soy sauce and honey together, then add it in the rice.
Stir well to mix all ingredients together.
Tada we are done. Dress it with sesame seeds and enjoy...for the love and joy of cooking.
Win Win Chickn's newest location is open on Marine and Main - and so I just had to try it out (especially with the lure of Filipino style chicken). Bottom line? Chicken is juicy and the breading is light and crispy. Everything else is just ok. We came during their soft launch, so we'll try again soon and see if the quality improves for their sides. Read more on the blog, link in bio. 🍗🍗🍗

As a true foodie, I feel lucky that I had the chance to try some frittelle before the carnival was suspended because they are delish!🐥 Ps: Frittelle are typical carnival sweets made of fried dough and cream inside.

Spring is supposed to be here any minute.
Temperatures are raising up and it is time for me to start craving salads.
Salads are always one of my preferred choices because they are fast and easy to prepare. Moreover, you may exploit whatever you have in the fridge and in the cupboard, and make everyday a different one!
I especially love this one because it combines cooked beans and fresh green salad and has cheese too. Absolutely delicious!
Today we will employ edamame as special guest for our salad.
You may have tried it as an appetizer at a Japanese restaurant, but what exactly are those little green bean-looking things?
Edamame is a young soybean that has been harvested before the beans have had a chance to harden. It is among the few plant-based sources of complete protein and a cup of frozen edamame, unprepared, has only 130 calories! These soybeans are also a rich source of B-complex vitamins and vitamins C and K, as well as the minerals calcium, phosphorus and potassium.
You can buy them shelled or in the pod, fresh or frozen. I always buy frozen ones as they are easier to be found.
Sevgili @cute_little_fairy ‘nin harika kırmızı kekini gördüğümden beri aklıma düşmüştü..Rengi kırmızı olsun, tabii ki şekersiz, unsuz olsun. 40 yaşımda değiştirdiğim beslenme alışkanlıklarımdan biri de sevgili pancar dı. Kendisinin kokusundan pek haz etmez, tadına bile bakmayı reddederken, şimdi pancardan kek bile yapar oldum🤦🏻♀️ Akşam ev halkının geleceği, çay partisi saatini iple çektim. Hatır için bile güzel oldu demeyen eşimle, kesinlikle pancar yemeyi reddeden Elif’in yorumları çok önemliydi... Ne mi oldu? Çay partisini beklemeden, tadına bakmak istediler. Görselden geçer not almıştım.
This shop never ever fails me! What it is good for? Every dish 😋 My favorites: spicy chopped fried chicken, grilled chicken, mutton and the best roti prata (not oily at all like other shops)!! 😋😋😋 -

Golden tongue’s delightfully delicious Taiwan style Braised pork rice:
The complexly marinated, richly flavourful pork had purposely apparent tastes and aromas of Cinnamon and Five-spice.
It paired perfectly with the soft, relatively sticky Japanese rice and the soft boiled “losui“ 15h marinated eggs gave the flavours even more depth and an even smoother texture to flow the entire content into my hungry belly before any of her guests had show up 🤤😝
When I first started my fitness journey, I portioned everything out...yep, I was that girl. 👩🏼🍳 I didn’t do it to lose weight, but to learn how to control my portions & to eat MORE of the right foods. 🥙
Honestly, when I first started, I was pretty clueless & never really paid attention to my food choices, but those color coded portion containers paved the way and helped tremendously.
I’ll be honest.
I don’t diet.
I don’t restrict myself from ANY food group.
I eat bread.
I drink (on the rare occasion.)
I eat sweets.
I don’t count calories or points.
I pay attention to my portions & I spent time learning what I needed to eat based on the goals I had for myself.
I am that person that if you tell me I can’t have something, like chocolate, for a 30 days. I will think about it nonstop the ENTIRE time & when that 30 days is over, you bet I’ll be having my fair share of ALL the chocolate I missed out on.
My biggest advice to all my clients is don’t deprive yourself of anything. Practice portion control and learn to choose healthier options.
What is your biggest struggle when it comes to nutrition?
Beef Noodle at one of our favourite spot! The Wang”s Taiwan Beef Noodle House. This restaurant is near Granville and 64th Ave.
We got the original beef noodle soups, the beef tripes, and their quick cooked vegetables. We love how each bowl is filled with cilantro and Chinese sauerkraut. I am personally an addict of both of these addition in the soup. Cilantro seems to go well with most Asian dishes and I love the amazing smell and taste. The noodles were great too 😋
Do recommend this restaurant and will come back again! More beef noodle house postings in the future😃
Sometimes I wonder 🧐. What’s it like to not live near an In-N-Out Burger ? 🍔 🍟 🥤 Like what is that life even?! How do you live?! 😱 #whatisthatlife#innoutcravings #neverdissapoints

Easy poached chicken rice and mustard green soup. My cutie loves chicken rice and he can tell others he only eats chicken rice from 2 specific stalls. Can't imagine this 3.5yr old 👶🏻 is so picky with food.
But.. he says he loves my homecooked chicken rice version best. ❤️ #chickenrice#海南鸡饭
