Is this what they mean when they say play with your food?🤭 On the real though, how do you feel when you see vidoes or pictures where food is being used randomly as props but it comes across as wasteful?
I've seen pics where bread is worn as bracelets for a fashion mag and videos of smashing food into the wall for artistic purposes.
I'm guilty too of being wasteful and it got me thinking.
Sure I have a compost at home so it serves its purpose and sure some foods in videos are taken to pig farms afterwards but with the global starvation rate being so high, sometimes it makes me wonder.
Many go to sleep without food that we use as props and if we were in the same room with somebody without a plate to eat, would we still throw food on the wall for whichever purpose?
No worries though, I used these for a curry and a fruit salad. ❤

They just sing to me and give me goosebumps. Their use of color and light in their work is so amazing. When I look at a piece, it feels like I’m in some Renaissance kitchen and the cooks are hurrying around to get the food ready for the day.
Who inspires you in your creativity?

A green smoothie can basically be a blood infusion of nutrients, or it can just be a fruit shake with spinach. I choose the former, and I notice a big difference when I do it on the regular. You don’t need anything fancy- just a focus on dark green leafy greens, fats, some citrus to break up the EARTHY flavour, and a (bamboo/metal/silicone) straw! For my kiddies, I started with small levels of everything listed below, but now they have it FULL power, and love it! Spring is the best season for leafy greens (and lilacs: yay!), and even if you only have a pot they’re soooo easy to grow yourself.
Here is what we typically add to our mineral-rich, blood building smoothie:
1-2 handfuls fresh greens (at the moment it’s sorrel, NZ spinach and kale- as that is what’s growing in the garden. We also add culinary herbs, as desired).
1 cup brewed and strained nettle tea
1-4 cup coconut yoghurt
1 heaping tsp spirulina
2 heaping tsp powdered greens
1 banana OR some fresh pineapple/papaya
1 Tbsp hemp seeds OR chia seeds (pre-soaked)
Good squeeze of lemon/lime juice and/or ginger
Very optional: powdered herbs- we mix it up with moringa, Kakadu plum, vegan collagen herbs etc.
We blend, taste and adjust flavours as needed- and, like I said, it’s a work in progress to get yourself enjoying the super GREEN flavour. But I feel so GOOD with this daily infusion, and honestly love it now. If you green smoothie is really just bananas, milk and a little handful of spinach I invite you to dig a little deeper, and explore how you can really green up your blend. When you do, that is where you’ll really notice the difference ❤️❤️❤️
