Just a master chef proud of his work ❤️👨🍳
So we were supposed to be moving into our new home today... but because of dumb bureaucracy that I don’t even understand, we instead moved our family of five into my parents’ house (and our belongings into my sister-in-law’s garage), where we will await our house’s closing date. Let’s hope this delay is only a few days, and not weeks 🤦🏻♀️ A part of me wants to wallow and complain and give into my anxious tendencies, because things didn’t go my way. But instead I’m choosing to be grateful that we even have generous family to turn to. Many people in our situation would need to rent a storage unit for their stuff and pile their family into a motel room. Instead, we’re frying fish in grandma’s kitchen and playing with our toys like nothing’s even up 🤷🏻♀️❤️🙌🏼
It’s Seafood Week so every day we’re sharing some facts about our fish and the nation’s favourite dish! 🐟🍽🇬🇧
Did you know...?
Our fish is fried in the traditional way using beef dripping. Fat from frying is an important source of biodiesel in the UK. Our used cooking oil is collected, recycled and used to generate green energy! ♻️
We’re frying until 8.30pm. See you soon!
It's rare to find whole fishes here, so when I see it, I have to grab it and learn how to cook it. Steam, bake and fry! I know I have up one level in cooking when frying fish no longer scares me and they turn out pretty nice looking and yummy! #fryingfish#cookingallday#番茄鱼#tomatofriedfish#家常便飯
Felt like something simple so we decided to fry up some 🐟. It was marinating in a combo of #spices including black pepper, turmeric, chili powder and a touch of cinnamon with olive oil for about 20 minutes before going into the frying pan. The onion and banana peppers added a pleasing crunch. 🍴
