Link's Awakening - The perfect remake?
Born in 1990 and definitely too young to play Link's Awakening on the Gameboy 🕹️, I had never had the chance to play the original game. I actually started the series with Oracle of Ages / Seasons (the latter is still one of my favorite Zelda game ever ❤️❤️).
Now that I have seen the End screen of the Remake on the Nintendo Switch, I think this might be, with the likes of Shadow of the Colossus, among the best remakes ever made. Imagine having to remake a game from scratch from such an old console to the current generation of consoles?
And yet, it manages to show brilliantly the original experience in a new light. I think the best illustration of this is the soundtrack that is still very true to the original intent, even including the sounds from the Gameboy in some instances, but the reorchestration makes every more powerful and beautiful.🎼🎵🎶
I think every player will remember Level 6 the Face Shrine, where the orchestration adds so much power to the dungeon and that particular moment in the game (right after a story twist).
It is close to a perfect remake, in a sense that it doesn't try to make the game better than it was. There is no new dungeon, no new cutscenes, no new monsters or bosses. Everything is different, yet everything is exactly the same.
I’m super stoked and BLESSED to announce that I’ve been appointed the Creative Director of @parimoreentertainment‘s Music Division 🥰 This is one of my favorite announcements of ‘Week of Wonder’ and here’s why.
Growing up, I’ve always admired entertainment moguls like @diddy. I loved how he actively he stayed present in his 50 different brands. I swore I was him. The funny part of all of this is…when I moved to LA and started @techtonicpop with @monicalsoriano, we had 0 connections. Parimore let us interview on one of our very first official red-carpets. And then, when I started @phasevmusic, I had NO BLOODY CLUE what I was doing with that project either y’all LMAO I swore to these dudes I was going to make them stars, but I didn’t know how. However, I knew I was going to find a manager and I was determined to make my dreams AND their dreams come true. I was able to do it all thanks to Michelle. I performed on my first tour ever with now ‘social media famous’ folks like @dolantwins. I heard my voice on the radio numerous times. I had so many gigs domestically and even a few international ones. Shot numerous music videos. It was everything.
Now, I know I can be a tough cookie to work with. I have said/done some f!cked up shit in the past and I’’m fully aware. But I will say that this company has always valued my intellect for the entertainment industry and business structure. That’s all I’ve ever asked for. The amount of compassion Michelle expresses towards my goals and dreams makes me smile. But her vision for her empire is beyond the surfacey stuff you all see now. And that ignites my fire. With this position, I am aiming to inspire and unlock the purpose of life for each artist I am able to mentor. We’re working on some dope rebranding so please follow @parimoreentertainment and stay tuned. Your boy has been working y’all. And we finally made it 🤗

It’s Thursday afternoon and I was off to the gym (this morning). I’m back at work. Under the gun and stressed. My show opens next week (Motherhood Out Loud – Greenbelt Arts Center – it’ll be a great show so check it out). Today was not a great day but I’m choosing to breathe through it and remember that I am fortunate in many ways. (And I work REALLY hard and I’m good at what I do). BetterThanYesterday tip 1610 – today I choose to like my voice. My character voices are awesome and though I often wish I sounded better on tape, I’m happy I have a voice. Choose to like something about yourself today. Make that choice.

I'm hella nerding out right now! I got picked to test out Project Xcloud and I'm so excited and see how well streaming Xbox games can be on my phone with cellular data. Gears of War 5 on the go? YES BISSSSH. 💅 #GAYMER#projectxcloud#microsoft#xbox#cloudgaming
The best game I played in 2018, and not just because it was a PS4 exclusive or because I know each of the other games in this series, going back to the original God of War.
The change from Greek to Norse mythology was an interesting and positive shift, in keeping with the move to newer hardware from the previous entry being a PS3 game. The father-son dynamic kept me hooked to the story until the very end.
The Syndicate enters an ancient pyramid discover (or grown) in the Brimham Swamp. We shall see what horrors await the group on our well-timed Halloween Special!

Asgore appreciation post:
We all know how beautiful and eye opening this video game is, but many people fail to notice Asgore’s hardships and not only from the responsibility of protecting an entire world of Monsterkind as a ruler, but the responsibility and guilt of a grieving father. A parent, a man who not only have experienced the ugliest and direst feeling from a loss of one, but 2 children who he had genuinely considered his own. Many people don’t notice it but Asgore is actually one of the most suffering characters in the game. Even being blackmailed as a ruthless killer who took the life of 7 children. When in actuality, have only found and collected the souls after they were all killed by other monsters in the Underground.
Here’s to appreciating this beautiful soul himself. I cried so much for his story and everyone who has a father, or is a father themselves. knows exactly how tragic this character is.
