It’s one thing to want to become more eco-friendly, but sometimes it’s hard to put that into action. We’ve come up with some tips to help you travel green! 👇🏼🌍✅
1. Pack light - every kilo counts when you fly, the more the plane weighs, the more carbon emissions it produces. Be sure to only pack what you need.
2. Avoid renting a car- in order to help the environment, if you can’t walk/bike to your destination you should definitely use public transport instead of driving, this means you are not creating any additional carbon emissions from private transport. (You may also make some new friends!)
3. Make your hotel like home- you should act like you’re just in your own home, remember to turn off the TV, light and AC, and don’t take long showers.
4. Avoid bottled water- be sure to carry a re-usable water bottle with you where you go, you can fill up safe water throughout your day! 💦
5. Choose a carbon-offset app(ours!)- you can’t avoid carbon emissions all the time, so when you are traveling why not offset your carbon footprint, through our application you can offset your carbon footprint and be rewarded for rewarding the earth. ✅
Travel clean, travel green 🌍

The wellness and health hotel @schwarzwald_panorama is not only the perfect place to relax and spoil yourself, upon request your stay will be even climate neutral. The CO₂ emissions generated during your stay will be reported and offset through the support of recognized climate protection projects. 🙌

I promised some more photos of my hiking vacation in Bavaria, so here you go!
The Partnach gorge (or Partnachklamm in German) is a fantastic place that left me speechless. Here the river Partnach has found its way through the mountains in a tight gorge, that has been made accessible with narrow walkways at its bottom. When standing down there, the crystal clear water roars beneath your feet and the cliffs rise up above you up to 80 meters. After walking through the gorge you can take a different route back that will lead you up the cliffs and over bridges and offers breathtaking views from above the gorge.
The beauty is so hard to describe - go and see for yourself! The gorge is easily reachable from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the hike is perfect for a rainy day, as rain gear is advisable anyways 😅

Living in Northern Ireland most of us rely on our cars a lot to take us everywhere that we need to go. And for me and my family especially, we’re always on the go - making sure we get out and about to walk our Labrador Thor in all the beautiful beaches, forests and parks that we’re lucky enough to have right on our doorstep all over our wee country.
So it’s good to know that there’s a car out there specifically designed to reduce pollution and maintain these beautiful sites for generations to come. And what’s even better is that there are free electric charging stations at National Trust sites so you can leave the car to charge while you are enjoying some of your favourite spots!
Big thanks to @countrygaragebmw and @nationaltrustni for our day out to the beach - the i3 really is a very enjoyable car to drive and - importantly - has enough space for the main man in the boot! Sorry about all the sand 😋 #placesmatter#greentravel#thei3

WHAT IF I WEAR THE WRONG CLOTHING WHEN HIKING?
What you wear is largely determined by the season you hike in. Overall though, cotton is the Devil and synthetics are a gift.
All joking aside, avoid wearing cotton on your outdoor adventures. It will trap your sweat and moisture, leaving you wet and keeping you cold.
Synthetics such as polyester, nylon, and merino wool will wick-away sweat and moisture while drying quickly. Merino wool also drives away odors, which is great for keeping your body odor at bay on the trail.
However, no matter the season, dressing in layers and having a warm or waterproof layer packed is key to your comfort. And in rare cases your survival.

This weekend Daniel (Snowcarbon founder) published a double-page spread on ski holidays by train in the @guardian . 🗞
ZERO WASTE TRAIN JOURNEY!🚂 After a long break, here I am again with lots and lots of travel stories and management solutions for you! 💚 @kritikal_junjun and me travelled ZERO WASTE from Mumbai to Shimla in a train (Mumbai - Delhi, Delhi Shimla)! All we had to do is think back at what our parents used to do when they didn't have access to bottled water, unhealthy snacking and lived a simpler life! 🤩
Things we carried:
1. Reusable mug
2. 2L each, reusable water bottles
3. Our own tiffins (to avoid taking any plastic/ paper plates)
4. Yummy homemade dinner and snacks!
What we saved up on:
1. LOADS of paper cups and plates
2. LOADS of wrappers by avoiding chips, chocolates and other unhealthy trash
3. LOADS of plastic water bottles
A quiet beach in a tiny island off the coast of Malaysia. ⠀
We were so excited to find a little local bungalow-like hotel who was supporting sustainable tourism and a certified debris-free dive shop. That said, we need to make a pledge to only stay with responsible hotels if islands like these are to survive, as the responsible providers are 100% in the minority here...⠀
In a few weeks we plan to publish our guide to the top eco-friendly hotels & restaurants in Malaysia. ⠀
Let us know if there’s someone you would like to nominate 🌱🙌🏻!
Quinta de Molinos used to be a creepy, kinda ghostly place in my mind. Honestly, I didn't know that: .
📝 It harbored tobacco processing mills back in 1797 -- hence the 'molinos' part of the name. .
📝 It was Cuba's second home to the botanical garden, in 1838.💚🍃🌱.
📝Maximo Gomez, the indomitable Dominican general who lead each and every Cuban pro-independence war in the 19th century, lived here for a while.🇨🇺 🇩🇴 .
📝. It hosted the Captains General summer contryhouse.🤷 📝 . To this day, it's a gorgeous green oasis in the middle of Havana, featuring a lot of endemic species.🌱💚 .
📝. It hosts a butterfly breeding garden. Just gorgeous! 🦋💚 Go, visit. And let me know how it felt. 💚🌱🙏 .

The @strandhotelkurhausjuist is also known as the White Castle by the sea 🏰🌊 On your way to the North Sea island of Juist you not only leave your car but your worries behind. You take the ferry from Norddeich and when lucky you spot some seals. If not, you have another chance to view them from your accommodation – as the Strandhotel Kurhaus Juist is located directly on the kilometer-long beach. 🐚

Great post by @greensuitcasetravel summarizing what’s happening in the Amazon right now and how to help... “The lungs of our Earth are being decimated at a rapid rate, due to cattle ranchers and loggers who want to clear and utilize the land, emboldened by the country's pro-business president.
In case you don’t know, the Amazon rainforest is responsible for 20% of the world’s oxygen. That’s not a small amount! If these fires aren’t controlled, the damage could be irrevocable and could set off what is known as the “feedback loop” where the forest begins to die off and collapse.
And while #PrayForTheAmazon is great—we must also TAKE ACTION. Want to get involved? Support organizations like the @rainforestactionnetwork, @amazonwatch, @rainforestalliance and @amazonaid. Finally, and you might not like this one, reduce your beef consumption because Rainforest beef is typically found in fast-food hamburgers or processed beef products.”

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is launching Travalyst, a global sustainable travel initiative that will bring companies, consumers and communities together. The initiative aims to educate people about overtourism and whether their own travels are helping or hurting the planet. Read the article by @tariro__ through our bio link. Our diets and purchasing decisions are often blamed for the climate crisis and other ecological catastrophes, however today we would like to highlight one of the other main sources of pollution, the transport sector🚙🚚🚕🚛☁️
It is common for a human to travel to work by themselves in a 2 ton vehicle. The inefficiency of this is astounding. A 150lb person requires so little energy to transport when compared to the 2 ton vehicle, so its crazy to transport peoe this way🚶♀️🚶♂️🚐
Forms of transport that damage the environment least include walking, cycling, skateboarding, scootering and using small motered vehicles such as electric bikes or motorcycles🚶♀️🚴♂️🚲🛵🛴 @homovirido produces some awesome work, Check her out!
