I have to admit, one of my favorite series of moments on any wedding day always happens during the wedding ceremony. I love capturing my brides as they walk down the aisle toward their grooms; I love seeing the faces of your family members filled with so much pride and emotion; I love listening as you recite your vows to each other; I love watching you share your first kiss together; and I love watching you walk back down the aisle together as husband and wife. The details you so carefully choose are important, but I’m always so excited when my couples cannot wait to celebrate their new MARRIAGE! 🥰
Just saw one of my friends @_jennifer_pierce say, “there’s nothing quite like tired like #amycoleworkshop tired,” and she couldn’t be more true.
I’m exhausted y’all, but my heart is SO FULL.
I’m going to get real for a second. Owning a small business is REALLY HARD. So often I get the comment of, “you must be living the dream!! I’d give anything to do what you do!” Even though I’m completely flattered from their sweet encouragement, I would be lying if I didn’t admit I work harder and more than I ever did when I had a structured 9-5!
I think a lot of that has to do with that EHP is my business baby. She’s my responsibility and it’s my job to control what kind of business I will have and run. That can (and is!) exhausting, especially through busy season right now!
Taking a few days to meet with fellow creatives who when I shared a struggle said, “PREACH GIRL!” or, “I TOTALLY STRUGGLE WITH THAT TOO!”, was just an incredible reminder that we are all in this together and it takes a village of people raising each other up and hugging one another along the way to survive our dreams.
Also one last thing - Jesus is the only reason all this is possible. If there is one thing I learned even more strongly over the last few days from @amycolephotography - is that Jesus gave me this business and it is His. I will not apologize or be sorry for that. I’m incredibly grateful for all He has given me and allowed me to do in His name to serve others and I can’t wait for the days ahead.
Feeling so thankful for all the women and for Amy as I dive into editing once again this morning ❤️

Heather from the Highlands of Scotland became one of my favorite flowers when we visited there last year. I even used it as my bouquet when we got married in the mountains in Colorado! To my surprise, I also found it in Iceland and the Italian Dolomites. I guess that should make since as the terrain is similar, but it still surprised me and made me smile. Tundra is a very barren and beautiful thing, but to see these little tiny purple bunches growing everywhere just reminds you how there is life and beauty everywhere if you look for it.
Anyone want to guess where this heather is from?

On Wednesdays we wear pink!
We loved the dress reveal that Gabi did with her bridesmaids on her wedding day! If you’re on the fence about doing a first look with your partner, how about doing a first look with your bridesmaids instead?!

Podcasts are the best. Seriously, I don’t get human interaction outside of my family when I’m in my office and podcasts help to keep me editing photos and focused without complete silence. What are your favorite podcasts? Mine is @behindthescenespodcast 🙌
Do you ever play with lines in your photography? A line is said to hold the attention of the viewer for longer because it gives their eyes something to follow.
We love the use of a diagonal line in this shot by @theapartmentphoto. It encourages us to stop and look at every single member of the bridal party.
What do you think?
Bride goals ✨ Jamie is one of the most genuine souls + a literal ray of sunshine. I had the opportunity to photograph her wedding this past weekend. From the tears to the laughs, the giant beetle that landed on her and the burs that got tangled in her dress - she handled her day with beauty and grace. Sooo thankful for this job that allows me to meet the most radiant people!
