Did you know that we run short trips to the world famous Masai Mara? We absolutely love being able to see animals in their natural habitat especially our favourite the 🐘 . As well as embracing the amazing wildlife and surroundings of the Masai Mara we also visit a local Masai Tribe to hear and see all about their way of life. It is incredible. 🙌This is an experience of a lifetime and one we totally recommend. Our next visit is next April 2020. Who wants to join us? #kenya#masaimara#2020

Early bird gets the....cool photos, less intense heat, and avoidance of insane amounts of people trying to get money from you! 🤑🤑🤑
Let’s talk for a sec about getting ripped off and sale-hassled while traveling because you’re targeted as a tourist...
It happens everywhere so don’t think this is India-specific, but after being here for my second month, I’d like to share some tips on how to avoid it, and when it’s a good idea to actually take advantage of it!
For example, it’s a good idea to pay a little extra ($1-5) at the Taj Mahal to have one of the locals show you the best photos spots AND take pics for you! Same applies for the guys carrying brooms at the Amber Fort who will guide you through the labyrinth of a structure and also be your IGbf.
You can also get some incredible deals on clothing, tapestries, and jewelry if you just venture outside of main cities, and maybe like...read my blog so you know where to go 😜
Now for the ways to avoid the scams, rip offs, and hasslers........
1. Anywhere a tour guide takes you where something can be bought...is probably 4x as much as it should be, and the guide gets commission off of it so they’re less likely to take you somewhere with better prices. (I’d suggest asking them to take you to local handicraft places and offering to tip them what they’d make in commission from the tourist traps)
2. When people are in your face, either say “No thank you”, and WHEN they persist, ignore and walk away...or inform them that the more they ask, the less likely you are to buy.
3. Know how much things SHOULD cost. Don’t pay over, but also don’t try to pay under...remember...your money is probably worth a lot more than theirs...
4. DO. YOUR. RESEARCH! It literally took me two weeks doing the same itinerary to realize what and who was ripping me off and who wasn’t!!! .
Again I’m not hating or trying to scare anyone from coming to India, just trying to make both sides aware 😉
Also if you don’t want to try and come here on your own, I’m offering ONE group trip here next year that you can pre-sign up for on my website under Group Trips!
Anyone else ever feel like they’ve been severely ripped off while traveling?
