got a new PR for dumbbell shoulder press of 35s!! lately i like using dumbbells a lot more than the barbell, not sure why but it’s been working!! my bench has been feeling a lot better too & even though my max is 100lbs for about 4-5 reps, i’d like to see what my 1RM is but definitely can’t do that without a spot😅 so i’ll probably wait till i’m home to see😊

A couple days ago I tried to incorporate a couple different excercises I don't usually do. I usually avoid these because I'm not very comfortable with them. Bench Pressing makes me nervous without a spotter, and Sumo Deadlifts feel kind of awkward.
Truth is, you don't get better if you avoid it. With practice I'll get better and be able to lift more, but I tried it and was trying to get comfortable with the movement for now #getoutofyourhead @gymshark#gymshark66challenge#gymshark66
Today I took action. Ordered myself this notebook/diary aaaand, I applied to do a Maths course to get qualified enough to apply for a job I really want.
I haven’t been accepted yet, but I’m hopeful. And at least I took the step. This is probably the biggest PB for me this week.
I’m learning to get out of my comfort zone and to go get those dreams I have. This year I will succeed 💪🏻 @gymshark

For me it’s so hard to find the perfect fitting leggins to work out in. They either aren’t squat proof or don’t make me look as good as I would like to. I actually do have some tights, that I can only wear for upper body and some that I just don’t feel great in. I really love Gymshark though, but they are so expensive! 😭

Day 59 of #gymshark66 •
This one is a hard one to share. I came across this picture today on my main Instagram page as a throwback. Two years ago today. This was me studying abroad in South Africa for the spring semester of my junior year of undergrad. You don’t really realize how far you’ve come until you see things that remind you of your past. For me, this was a dark time in my life. My anxiety was out of control, I was condoning a lot of bad habits, and just not living my life the way it should have been lived. When I look at this picture, I think of a sermon I listened to yesterday by Sarah Jakes Roberts called “Changing your Core”. She mentioned that we are the only things on Earth that can change their core. By that she meant that we can change who we are on the inside. How we are is not who we have to be. And I believe I’m 1000% a living testament to that statement. How I was in 2018 is not who I am or who I’ve have to be in 2020. I’m growing, learning, loving, and living life to the fullest. I’m going after my dreams and goals with this fire that has been trying to release itself for years. I’m just so so so proud of who I am today. And that is enough for me. •
I thought it would be fitting to show you all what a rest day for me looks like since I talked about rest yesterday. Swipe through to check it out 😇 I definitely am treating myself today. I woke up early this morning, had a morning meeting from 9-11, and I’ve been out and about since. I stopped and got my favorite meal for lunch, I’m getting a few things for my house, and later I have an appointment at Massage Envy for a Rapid Tension Relief Session. I’m so excited to finally be able to use a theragun. I’ll try to post on my story how it goes. Happy Friday ☀️
Had such an amazing workout today! I gave my first ever try at a 5k (3.1 miles) and ran it with only 2 short walking breaks. I’m honestly very impressed I’ve never been good with long distance. My time wasn’t incredible (I ran it in 28 minutes) but for a first time I’m pretty proud. At the beginning of the year I wasn’t even running one mile at this rate! I had a really great arm workout afterwards as well and I’m feeling amazing. My mind and body feel so refreshed after that run. Only my second day back after a 2 week hiatus and I’m already so happy to be back.
Day 59/66 - always the worse thing after a holiday, is looking back at all the pictures that were taken and reminding you of the free time you had when away. I actually managed to take a whole week of the gym which is progress for me 👏🏼 seeing as I would struggle to do this at home and I completely improved on my cardio everyday by walking through 10 different cities whilst we are adventuring through Belgium and France👏🏼 when at work or my day to day life I only tend too hit 10,000 steps so hitting 20,000 - 25,000 steps was INSANE! Definitely felt it in my legs for sure and have been so tired at work this week😴 have thoroughly enjoyed returning to the gym and starting my online personal training course👏🏼 getting me one step further and starting something what I have wanted too for a while. So here goes the new challenge of doing an online course🤞🏻 #gymshark66#beavisionary#gymshark#gymsharkwomen#travelling

Having lost quite a substantial amount of weight my loose skin on my stomach can make me feel a bit self conscious but trying to not let it phase me as it acts only as evidence to my hard work and dedication 💪 good workout tonight, back and abs then 30 mins running on the treadmill, slowly getting back into running but loving seeing myself get more able to run faster/for longer. Trust the process 🤠
How is this not a breakfast for champions!! Noodles with 3 eggs. I usually don’t eat ramen or noodles in the morning, my go to is like, eggs and sausage with toast. Bomb! Anyways, because my work schedule is a mid shift, probably won’t lift today. And the weekend is jammed packed with events, probably skip gym! Might squeeze a sesh Sunday. it’s been uhhh .,,, different trying to teach myself, and learn about myself more as I tried bulking this winter. While it didn’t start as soon as others and wasn’t as long, I learned a lot and experienced it first hand instead of just reading articles abt it and looking at people on Instagram doing it, and I’m glad I did it
1) I gained a lot of strength (added 15lbs to my squat, 10lbs to my bench, 25lbs to my hip thrust, and various other PRs were reached tbh)
2) I gained a lot of knowledge on food, became familiar with what dif serving sizes looked like on the plate, and NUTRIENTS (I was soooo undernourished before dudes, and I didn’t even know it)
3) Lastly I learned that people are very quick to judge you and your body when they don’t understand what you’re trying to do. A familiar comment– “but you looked better before why do you want to change?”
To be honest, being younger than a lot of people I’m surrounded with at work or at the gym, it can be hard to face so much backlash, while keeping my composure and ensure others that, yes, I do know what I’m doing and where I want to be🤍
