After a really LONG day... Up at 3am for a Doctors appointment in Woodbridge, 8 hours in the car, and a 1hr nap I finally got out to run... It was super dreary today but that doesn't mean I stay in... Sitting in the car drives me crazy so some kind of productive activity is always a good way to end a trip... TBH dealing with the clinic up there can be a little frustrating but again, enter a good run, and BAM, I'm feeling so much better... It was an interesting 5 miles... I have not yet had ALL 5 of my splits under the 13 minute mark until today!!! Even though my average pace was a few seconds lower on Saturday, I still had a 13:08 min/mi. and a 13:12 min/mi. the others were just faster to make up for it... I'm so friggin proud of that!!! Looking back on some of my older running posts I NEVER thought I'd be where I am today... Yes, its difficult, it's a TON of work... But the end results are SO SO SO worth it... Thise natural endorphins man, can't beat them!!! #runner#run#runforlife#runlikeagirl#runlife#irunthisbody#slowaf#biggirlsruntoo#runningistherapy#runnerinrecovery#selfcare#iamoneofthem#wedorecover#halfmarathontraining#halfmarathon#traininggoals#training#run2020
Ran a nice quick two miles on this beautiful day, including lots of puddle hopping, before jumping into a full body strength workout. It’s amazing how much a nice day can motivate me. The feeling of running in shorts and a T-shirt with the sun on my skin, then working out in a sunlit room with the windows open- nothing compares. It even smelled a little like spring today! 🌞🌱 #halfmarathontraining#springisintheair#6daysaway
Today was a wrap on another amazing @rundisney weekend. Wow, I am blown away; Disney running community is like no other! I have met some of the most incredible friends. Friends that check on you, support you and even mail you sweet gifts when life is tough. It made this weekend extra special seeing familiar faces in the parks and on the courses. .
I'm walking out of this weekend like a caterpillar ready to turn into this beautiful butterfly. I know my weaknesses and understand what has been holding me back and I’m ready to make modifications needed to reach goals in my fitness and running journey. .
Being surrounded by such a huge community of @disney runners this weekend was so refreshing. You all inspire me to be the best version of myself. So I’m November expect to see this beauty in full bloom on the Two Course Challenge!
How quickly Missouri weather changes! I’m very glad I got a chance to get out for a quick 3 mile in yesterday’s beautiful, sunny 60 degree weather. Today is a much different story so it was the treadmill for 5 miles at race pace. I can definitely tell a difference in my endurance lately! .
It always makes me feel really good getting the productive training status. For the last 4 weeks, I’ve been bouncing between productive and maintaining and it’s just reassuring because it lets me know that I’m on the right track with everything I’m doing. Just under 5 weeks out (including the taper) from the half marathon so not too many runs left! Let’s get it! .
I did it! Again! 13.1 miles. Husband joined me this time. We did not train. We didn't plan to finish. We almost didn't even go. We jogged a little. We walked a lot. We joined random interval/pace groups that passed to keep ourselves moving. If you watched my stories, I almost gave up several times. But my husband decided about halfway through that he was going to finish it. I told him after 11 miles to go ahead without me and I'd see him at the end. But it was only 2 miles to the end by that point. I couldn't let a measly two miles take me out! So we both pushed and actually made it to the end and EARNED our medals instead of just picking them up once we got off the bus. This was HARD. Everything really hurts today. But I'm proud of US! Our first trip alone together since having babies was a total success! It was only 2 days, but what a great 2 days it was!
Celebrating #MedalMonday for the first time in a long while!! I have a feeling I’ll be talking about how magical this weekend was for a while. 😄 The medals were gorgeous! The weather was cold by Florida standards but it was perfect for running. 😍🥶 I didn’t put pressure on myself and let myself really enjoy the experience. 👑 My big stupid grin in my pictures shows I really did enjoy it all.
Happy Medal Monday, everyone!

First run since my dog bite. I figured if I was gonna have to walk 10 + miles at work, I would be well enough to run today. My muscle is punctured and very swollen and sore still. Split a 10K run into 2 5K runs. Pretty much identical paces and such.
The foam roller is my new best friend.
If you haven’t done it yet, wyd?? Relieves soreness, reduces inflammation, AND helps with joint mobility. Plus it feels great- especially after leg day.
I foam roll for no less than 20 min every day and swear by it. Don’t let this short video fool you. I usually do each side for 10 min and then finish with some stretching. 100/10 suggest.
Good run tonight cheeky 10k plus keep pushing keep going keep getting better peaceful run not busy on the roads 🛌 sleep tight fellow Wigan and Leigh runners 🏃🏻♂️ 🏃🏻♂️🏃♀️🏃♀️💪💪👋👋 #wiganrunfestival#halfmarathontraining

Week 4 of Rutgers Half Marathon Training is finally up! The flu last week took me out of everything, but I am slowly getting back. Today I edited and upload week 4 of Brian Runs Rutgers Half Marathon Training. Link is https://youtu.be/3TlkegUHq54. Still not sure how to make this a clickable link. Please check it out, like it, and subscribe. I really enjoy doing this and hope people enjoy watching it. I watched a bunch of RezRuns videos last week when I was sick and I am starting to feel more comfortable with my videos. Today I also took Nala on a 30 minute walk to try to get back to doing things. Hopefully I will resume running shortly. I hope this sick break doesn’t affect my race too much. #run#runner#running#brianruns#rutgershalfmarathon#halfmarathontraining#youtube#blogger#blog
Baby girl making her stroller run debut!! 🙌🏼😍 Up until today, it’s always just been little T (and then short walks with baby girl to get her used to it). Today she did 1.5 miles with me! Woohoo! She was so happy the whole time (a first 🤣). Swipe right to see 👀 her cutie smiles in a better pic.😉
Remember if you’re just starting out with stroller running to ease yourself and your baby into it. We’ve been doing short walks with baby girl so she was ready for the 1.5 and enjoyed it! Also, don’t get discouraged if your babe isn’t a fan at first - she wasn’t either. It just takes time.💪🏼
Six more days til my marathon. I’m ready.🤗 And then it’s on to @ragnarrelay training for Tahoe this summer!! What’s your next big training goal?
Reset your focus and get ready for a great week. Challenges come and go, keep your mindset motivated and full of gratitude. #mondaymotivation

One of, or probably my strongest 800m session ever! The roads have been so icy lately so I’ve been doing most of my quality sessions on my treadmill. The 40 degree weekend weather finally melted the ice that’s been around forever! I headed to the park where I do my speed sessions(it’s a 1 mile loop that’s pretty flat) after class today.

So after having a really sore knee (ITBS) after my 5k run on Monday it felt almost back to normal on Wednesday which was a great feeling as I really thought I was potentially out for weeks! Although it’s felt better there’s still definitely a niggle there and I’ve put off running.
I went and played golf 🏌️♀️ again today, felt good and I carry my clubs and it definitely works my legs which is great (but definitely a bit of a niggle by the end).
My plan is to rest it until Thursday (I’ll do some yoga and maybe spinning Monday/Tuesday) and then give it a test run and see how it goes! If it’s bad will just rest it until basically the day 😬 and hope the best. If it’s good, will be able to get a few more easy runs in and maybe a long one 🤞

PRESTWOLD HALL HALF 🏃🏻♀️•
Bit windy, made it a bit harder, but a relatively flat course made sure I hit (came under) the target marathon pace. Putting me in good spirits as week 7 of the plan closes 🙌🏻.
Nearly half way through the 16 week block!! Trusting the process and ticking off the sessions @timsrunworld plans for me ✅.
Thanks @runthroughuk for organising a great event, shame you can’t influence the weather 🌦💨. Your marshals were fab and everything seemed to run like clockwork... and of course the flapjack at the end 🤤.
👟Some kit gifted @sportsdirectrunning .

Still in awe with what happened at my 5K Saturday 👟✨ I was really overwhelmed with so many thoughts, excitement, disbelief, everything! This was the first time I’ve raced since June 2018 guys - it’s been a while.
The plan was to tape my Garmin so I couldn’t see the watch face (but still had data), and just run hard and have fun! @carlysheree and I texted each other that idea at same exact time which was too funny 😂 And my good friend @livehealthyjournal reminded me that I’ve been wanting to race for such a long time and to go out and give it everything 💙
And so I did. I went out fast but wanted to conserve enough energy so I could go hard that last mile like Carly said. It was crazy how good I felt, and so cool to be in front with the guys!
Mile 2 I caught myself zone out for a second haha I did a little check-in “Do you have more?” I was scared bc the answer was “Yes.” 😂 So I pushed to go faster. About 1/2 mile to go I ripped the tape off my watch out of curiosity and it was off (someday I’ll run a 5K at a 6:16 pace 😉) so I took it as a sign I still wasn’t meant to know what I was running.
Then I saw the clock during the final stretch read 20:5X and thought NO F-ING WAY. Pushing to my 21:16.
The winner (who races this 5k often) had told me the course is long by ~45 seconds (my watch read 3.39), so I really have no idea what I ran exactly.
But my first sub 7 race is in the books! It was a goal of mine to do some day, so for it to be this past weekend FEELING GREAT PHYSICALLY was pretty incredible.
Now onto Atlanta! I will not be racing this half, but running it for fun with my girl @aduerr24 👯♀️ As for whats next? I have an idea but will follow up based on how I feel post half. Thanks for all the love and support per usual. If you’ve been here for a while you know it’s been a long time coming, but here we are 🔥

That feeling when you nail the last long run of your training cycle 💃🏼
16 miles in the books this morning. Coach @speasey87 from @rundoyen gave me the following workout:
12 miles easy
4 mile cutdown
16 miles total 👊🏼
To be totally honest, at mile 12 of this run I thought there was no way I was going to be able to pick up the speed. Then I clocked the last 4 miles at 8:44, 8:49, 8:37 and 8:05!!! Seriously?! I couldn’t believe it when my legs were moving that fast after covering 15 miles. Two weeks from today is the big day and I’m feeling confident, but still quite nervous. Fingers crossed it goes as well as this run did!
A moment of silence for the race PR that I crushed 🙏🏼🎉
I went into today’s race telling myself that at this point in the game, just showing up was not good enough anymore & I knew that I prepared as best as I could. “I feel good about this weekend” is what I told @run4prs.coachbri when she checked in with me a couple of days ago. We tried out a new pacing strategy & I was able to stick with it up until Mile 5. My first trip up Harlem Hill & my third visit to Cat Hill slowed me down, so my splits were a little erratic trying to efficiently recover & make up for lost time. But I kept my cool & told myself to just keep it moving no👏🏼matter👏🏼what👏🏼.
Huge thank you to @run4prs.coachbri for coaching me through these last several weeks of training 🙏🏼, @heyrunnergal for laying down the absolute PR crush during #shortsszn 🥳, & @_frizzyb_ who came to cheer us on 🙌🏼! Also, thank you post-race Mexican food 🌯

Let’s just call this the windswept look, 45mph winds doing a half marathon is not easy. It was hard and relentless
Although the weather was grim I was pleased with today’s outcome. My biggest fear was getting carried away but I had to stay back, after all it was just a training run and I don’t want to jeopardise anything at this late stage, I would have been stupid to.
Initially I did start off too quickly but realised this at 4 miles so I started to hold back and took on a run walk strategy to keep me at an Ultra pace rather than a half marathon pace. This seemed to work well and I finished with my aimed time in mind, almost to the minute. With a warm up and cool down a total of 15 done today.
I was absolutely starving throughout that run and at mile 8 I started to dream about pop tarts! WTF?!? .
Great to catch up with @knight.running today and a few others.
