We currently live in a Taylor Wimpey Balfour house type but hoping to use the easy mover scheme to change to a Chalmers - mainly for the driveway and the three beds are doubles. Has anyone used the ‘easy mover’ scheme before, and what were your opinions? #floorplans#taylorwimpey#easymover#helptobuy#balfour#homeowner
so the last few weeks have been completely stressful, we lost our first house due to some mortgage issues, but we are now back on track but with a new and better property!!! Mortgage application in process, reservation down, help to buy paperwork done, solicitors back on track and finishing touches being chosen!! Why did no one tell me how exciting new builds are?!!
So today was exciting, we went and picked our options! Well nothing definite yet, going back in two weeks to confirm but this is what we have picked for now...
Kitchen: we have went for option 2 in the kitchen and picked gloss platinum for the cupboards and Alaska for the worktops and pewter for the glass splashback.
Bathrooms: we have went for half tiling in all bathrooms and picked different tiles for each one- downstairs= park lineal gris, main bathroom= cubico blanco, en suite= cubico gris 😃. We also have opted to have a shower put in the main bathroom with folding shower screen.
We haven't taken any flooring from tw as we will get this ourselves when we move in! Going to go round the show homes tomorrow again and have another wee look to make sure we are certain about what we've picked! If anyone has picked any of these options please send me pics of your home so I can see what it's like all put together! .
Went to see a Hanbury today near me to do some measuring and went for a cheeky look in the show home to get some inspo!
If someone would like to give me about 80K so I could upgrade that would be fab 😂 .. joking I still love the Hanbury! -
Our original offer was only until the end of January and was never going to read the estimated build completion date. I spoke to our mortgage advisor on Monday who told me our rate would be dropping .15% (great!) and extending another 6 months (also great and fits the end of April delayed completion date. HOWEVER, I just received the mortgage offer from Santander in the post today and it says the original higher rate and only until 31st March!! Unfortunately can’t call the advisors until Monday to find out what happened 🙁. Has anyone else had a mortgage extension? If so, was it 6 months or less? #mortgage#firsttimebuyer#helptobuy#taylorwimpey

Good Morning guys 💫 I’ve been feeling a little despondent about the house lately; the Authority To Proceed is still with the Help To Buy department who restructured, lost our paperwork, then found it again...so lots of stress and waiting around!
So last night I switched off my phone, wrote some affirmations about plot 113 and let those feelings of worry and upset go 🙏🏼 I’m a firm believer in the law of attraction, visualisation & the power of gratitude - we can have, be or do anything we set our mind to with a little kindness & faith 😊

Plot 203. 🏡 HONEST POST.
I rarely post on here anymore, I'm not in love with our home and it sucks. •We do really regret buying a persimmon home and being in the whirlwind of buying our first home and not doing any research on who persimmon were and how terrible they build houses. ❌🙅♂️
•Since not being able to sell, we've tried to do things to make the house more homely, tiling, adding wall features, decorating etc.. but we know this isn't our forever home and it's all a bit pointless and a waste of money💸
What a week 😅 welcome to the world of travel!
Was looking forward to this bath all day, but then I didn’t get home until 7pm so thought ‘it’s a bit late for a bath’ but then I remembered it’s our house and the bathroom doesn’t have opening hours 😂
So we’re chilling out on our new sofas which arrived on Thursday, I love them, Stephen felt they were too big for the room but we can make it work! The plan this weekend is to build our new bedroom drawers and have a good clean up! Well I’m working so like to keep Stephen busy 😝
The interest we have had since we launched The Park Phase 4 has been absolutely amazing. The booking list is filling up fast for these amazing 3 & 4 bedroom houses! Call into our showhouses to see what you could call home! Our gardens have been beautifully landscaped to maximize their potential 🌿

I haven’t posted much due to all the delays and I’ve been so frustrated with everything I Just sort of gave up!! We’re moving! We reckon we could have our roof trusses on by the end of next week if they don’t take the piss and actually crack on with some work! 🤦🏼♀️ we FINALLY have our sold sign! I dunno what it is about this but it’s something I’ve been longing for and I’m now so happy I’ve got mine 😍😍 I’m sooo ready for March to come! And hopefully we’ll be in our house💕 I honestly can’t wait as much as I’m thankful my mum and dad are having us here in ready for a new chapter!! Our site manager is pushing for a March completion due to us not going through in December or January!😭 however with the delay we’ll of saved up for our dream bed with a hefty price tag attached 😍🥺 happy Friday #gleesonhomes#gleesonhomescommunity#ourgleesonwicklow#wicklow#love#home#housetohome#helptobuy#firsttimebuyers#love#excited 💜🏡
Have you ever found yourself scrolling through Rightmove (as we all love to do!), and noticed that some properties are listed as leasehold but you’ve never really understood what that means? We answer the question: what is a leasehold property in this article.
• Freehold and leasehold
There are two main types of property ownership in the UK; freehold and leasehold. However, the rules vary slightly between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. .
Generally, freehold means that the person who owns the property, for example a house, owns the land on which the property is built (the plot) as well as the property. Their plot will have a boundary, which is identified on the Title Plan of their property when they purchase it.
Leasehold, however, is slightly more complex. That’s because even though the property may be purchased, it’s only owned for a fixed period of time, for example 125 years. The land on which the property is built is owned by another person, or group of people, called the ‘Freeholder’ (sometimes also known as ‘the landlord’). The length of property ownership is noted in a contract between the Leaseholder and the Freeholder called a lease. At the end of the term of the lease, the ownership of the property passes back to the Freeholder. Leasehold is usually the most common form of ownership for apartments, although houses may sometimes also be leasehold, especially if they are bought via a Shared Ownership scheme.

The Gym Group has said it is on track to expand its footprint across the UK with the opening of up to 20 more gyms this year. It also plans to open between five and eight of its more compact box sites which cover between 5,000 sq ft and 9,000 sq ft, compared to its standard gyms. The firm currently operates 175 low cost gyms and its membership numbers hit 794,000 in December, up from 724,000 in 2018.
The Gym Group said in a trading update that the growth of its estates was being largely funded from operating cash flows. Growth in average revenue per member per month grew by 7.6% to £16.02, compared to £14.89 in 2018, on the back of increased penetration from its LIVE IT membership product and an increase in average headline price. Total revenue was also up in December to £153.1m, from £123.9m in 2018. Its non-property net debt stood at £47.7m. Chief executive Richard Darwin said: “2019 has been another very successful year in which The Gym Group has again delivered substantial growth in members and revenue.
“We expanded our business by 20 sites in 2019, which included the first two of our new small box gym concept, which delivers low-cost fitness to smaller towns. “There remains a long runway of potential sites in the UK and, with our small-box roll-out under way, we plan to accelerate the expansion of our gym estate in the coming year. “We have built scale and a strong platform over the past few years and with an encouraging start to January trading, we anticipate 2020 will be another year of significant progress.

I’m in. I have the keys and have started working on making my first house a home. Got the keys really late in the afternoon so haven’t been able to do as much as I was hoping I would but there’s not too much rush. Going back to work tomorrow after having just over 2 weeks off but I’ll be straight back to the house after to do some work. Tomorrow we’ll be painting one of the walls in my living room and ripping up the vinyl in the kitchen. On Wednesday my uncle is coming to fit the laminate I’ve picked in my hallway and kitchen. Then Saturday carpets are being fitted everywhere else. Once they’re down I’ll be able to properly move furniture in. My sofa is also being delivered on Monday. So much to do but I really can’t wait to see it all come together! #firsttimebuyer#firsthome#firsthouse#homeaccount#houseaccount#helptobuy#interiordecorating
I love my kitchen, it’s my favourite room by far 💗💗💗

We got to go into our house for a quick measure up 😍😍 we absolutely love our kitchen and tile choices, the garden is a good size, we have white paint, the work top had been changed to the one we changed our minds to, and our consumer unit is actually in the downstairs toilet and not the hallway like our plans said which we were buzzing about 😂 home demo we have now booked for Wednesday the same day as we complete, they couldn’t make it this week and next week is a nightmare with getting time off work so we’re doing it all at once . Happy happy happy 😍

The first finished room and it’s exactly how I pictured it in my head, I’ve been collecting bits for the room for months and I’ve finally got to put them all together 🥰
our almost complete kitchen, just still need some shelves fitting for the back wall. Before we even reserved I’d bought our kettle and toaster ha 🙈 always knew I wanted a white and copper/rose gold theme and I absolutely love it 🥰 I just keep walking in and smiling with a big massive grin on my face, I can’t believe this is our kitchen 🧡🧡 Ps. Still need to remove the sticker off the oven, we’ve not got round to registering them yet 🤦🏼♀️🙈
