On Sept 23 (Monday), I'm giving a pre-conference workshop at Utah SHRM. This will be specifically focused for HR leaders who are often tasked with driving D&I programs in their organizations. We'll tackle unique challenges we are facing as D&I becomes a larger business imperative and HR leaders are experiencing more pressure to enact culture change in some tough environments. Morning session will be religious diversity, I'll be doing the afternoon session. Both worthwhile!
Really excited to be joining the annual HR Summit & Expo 2019 in Dubai, UAE to discuss and share insights on NLP Coaching and its benefits to organisations today, along with 10 NLP Coaching tips to takeaway!
Hope to see you there! Thank you for the opportunity @informa_mea!
An article that I once read that had a tremendous impact on me was one that detailed the habits of successful comedians like Chris Rock.
It said that he would always be testing out material where ever he could perform. That is a philosophy I hold when practicing my personal growth material.
Today, I had a great audience in an unlikely place - a sports bar!
The more unconventional the environment - the better it will prepare you for a more traditional and controlled environment!
#iubh#iubhfernstudium#personalmanagement#humanresources#modulplan#kurse#übersicht#leitfaden#motivation#zielvoraugen 💪 #vorfreude#baldgehtslos

Who made the more significant mistake, Casey here or the person who placed the access card by the front door?
I was half a block away when I saw a well intentioned person place the card here, possibly hoping it's owner would find it.
The reason we have to say well intentioned is because Atlas's Safe Workplace training can help people take that one extra step to decrease risk in decision making. +
Our longer term clients can depend on their staff to have brought the ID to the front desk because of the emphasis we place on access control during Safe Workplace training modules and scenarios.
Playing the scenario all the way out helps staff (and you!) better identity unique risks and take preventative action. Tap that LINK IN BIO to set up a free workplace safety consult, on site or even on remotely.
Including but besides the obvious, what do you think this card could be used for?

For a quick bit of background, a 401(k) is an investment account offered through some employers. It's an attractive way to save for retirement because it offers a great tax break. But one problem is that many 401(k)s have high fees.
There isn't any way around those fees while you're employed at your current job. BUT, when you LEAVE a job, you're allowed to ROLLOVER (transfer) your old 401(k) to an IRA. The IRA can be with any brokerage you choose (like Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab, etc). Rolling over all old 401(k)s has some big advantages:
☑ 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆. The average employee tenure is currently about 4 years. And the average career is about 40. That's a lot of old 401(k)s sitting out there. Getting lost or forgotten. Keep all that money in one place!
☑ 𝗖𝘂𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀. After you leave a job and a few years go by then you suddenly need access to your money. You don't want to have to wrestle with HR from a company you haven't worked at in forever. (What if they got sold or went out of business?!)
☑ 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 401(k)s only offer the few investment options chosen by your (now former) employer. When you roll over to a discount brokerage you can buy and hold a low cost target date index fund!
☑ 𝗟𝗼𝘄 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝘀. This is the biggie as shown in the image. Different sources say the average 401(k) fee ranges from 1% to 2%. The example above assumes Natalie's fees are just 1% lower than Nicoles, yet it still saved her over $300,000!
The actual process of rolling over an old 401(k) to an IRA isn't all that fun or sexy. You have to visit the new brokerage (Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab, etc) open a Rollover IRA, go through the steps. If you call the new brokerage they're often super helpful. It generally takes a few days and might involve uploading a statement or sending in a form. But if it takes you a few hours and the result is $300,000 more over your career, I'd say it's a pretty good ROI on your time :)
As always, reminding you to build wealth by following the two PFC rules: 1.) Live below your means and 2.) Invest early and often.

Back to work...😁 Client had given us his simple brief. He needed to hire a business manager within a specific budget.
After interviewing well over 12 candidates we found the one.
Kelechi was exceptional. Though he had never worked in my clients industry, he was able to showcase his transferable skills. I was so so happy. But there was one problem. The clients budget was N300,000, but kelechi wanted N650,000.
I couldn't blame him for that because his current remuneration was exactly 300k and he wanted a significant increase.
My client and I spent hours debating on the salary increase. Even though he had a budget, my client also knew that getting an exceptional staff was very difficult and so he did not mind increasing his budget to fit kelechi 's request. So we decided to have a second stage interview.
I called kelechi to prep him and inform him that the client liked him enough to want to increase his budget so this next interview was going to seal the deal.
To my disappointment and utter surprise, kelechi flopped.
He came late, did not dress appropriately and did absolutely no research about the company. Something had gone wrong. I tried my best to bring out the exceptional kelechi again but the client had given up.
The same kelechi who spoke with so much drive and passion, ended up coming across as nonchalant and ill-prepared. Between his first and second interview kelechi failed to study his client and clients industry and so could not answer basic questions at the second stage.
Kelechi simply did what a looot of candidates do. HE GOT COMFORTABLE.
TOO many candidates make the mistake of getting so comfortable when they know a client likes them and rather than prepare, they go to sleep. Pride kicks in and tells them not to bother anymore after all "I killed it at the last interview". What they fail to realise is that alot goes on behind the scene, and clients need to be convinced at every single level and stage that they are making the right decision.
