KOREAN EATS | My favourite thing is going to eat at places completely off your radar because of a friend’s suggestion! @yellowhousecafe, in Los Angeles, is the cutest Korean restaurant I’ve ever been to (the back patio is my fave), with solid food to boot! I don’t see kimbap or spam musubi on menus often so I knew I had to order both! #josheats
Vancouver being Raincouver really forces you to get creative with indoor photoshoots. Super happy with this set even though we stayed indoors when our original plan was to get some city-vibes. •

Forever evolving in my relationship with high heels. Tall enough as is and always like to be able to escape when needed but MAN THAT MAKE MY BODY POP! #flashbackfriday photoshoot with @danieljcollinsfoto
Here are 2 variations of the traditional face pull that will help you to better target your upper back, rear delts and rotator cuff while minimizing common compensation patterns that you see with the traditional rope face pull. One version uses varied resistance, the other uses constant resistance so the strength curve will be different but both have great benefits!
1️⃣ Double banded face pull.
Use 2 bands and slip one through the other then place it around the back of your wrist. Walk back so there is tension on the band, keep your ribcage down and pull the band towards your face. Spread the band apart and externally rotate, contracting at the end position. The band offers varied resistance so the tension will increase as you get closer to end range!
2️⃣Banded cable face pull
Take off the rope attachment and slip a band through the carabiner, place it around your wrist with a relaxed hand position to minimize your grip from overworking. Use the same cues as the double band version listed above, the cable offers constant resistance so the tension will remain roughly the same. The band is a good way to eliminate any excess momentum, it will give you instant feedback if you’re using momentum instead of strength 🤭

2nd #DineOutVancouver this year is #ForageVancouver 's $45 dinner menu:
𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢 - I personally liked this one a little more. The sweetness of the haskap berries, earthiness of the sunchoke crackling, pickled cipollini onions, and the light and crispy nuggets of smoked duck fat sourdough all came together so well with the duck breast pastrami.
𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢 - This was light and refreshing. I really liked the fresh lemon-y sweetness of the preserved lemon creme fraiche.
For the 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐂𝐮𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐤, we went with medium-rare (which is recommended by the chef). I feel like parts of it were a little under medium-rare, but I ain't complaining. I like my steak as raw as possible LOL
The 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐬𝐡 was so buttery and flakey, and the skin was crispy! The sweetness of the compressed rutabaga nicely balanced out the salty (but flavourful) bull kelp & ginger soy. The smoked belly croquette was crispy but wasn't too special in my opinion. The only thing that bothered me was the flavourless bokchoy LOL It felt like it was thrown on there just to add some green.
Not on the DineOut website, but there is a Braised Bison Shortrib option for +$10
The 𝐑𝐮𝐛𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐫 was very mediocre. I was at least expecting the dark chocolate flavour to be stronger. I would recommend skipping this one tbh.
We really liked the 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐟𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥. The filling of the cheese puff tasted like a light cheesecake. The menu says 'ginger & vanilla cream' but I didn't notice any ginger nor the gin in the 'gin spiked blueberries' 🤔 But overall, I liked the combinations of all the flavours and textures! It also didn't feel heavy so it was a nice way to end the meal.
Thanks for going with me and being my excuse to order more food @adamwxng 🙃 #DOVF#DOVF2020

LOBSTER & ABALONE PROSPERITY TOSS SALAD 👲🏻• @mott32van (Vancouver, BC)
Chinese New Year is TOMORROW and Mott 32 has your back with CHINESE NEW YEAR EXCLUSIVE ITEMS! We're talking black truffle 5 grain rice that has a ridiculously marvelous char and a play on the classic fish and Yunan ham dish! Instead of fish, they use prawn paste and chicken as the base of the proscuitto-like Yunan ham for that extra dense bite 🤪 Pairs perfectly with the Spotswoode Sauvignon Blanc!
Fun Fact: Mott 32 is the ONLY Chinese restaurant in Vancouver that had their own sommelier @robertstelmachuk 🤗 how unique is that!?
What's your favorite dish to eat during CNY?

Vancouver is under a rain advisory which- if you know anything about Vancouver- is slightly redundant. It rains here for at least 8 months/year. But here we are. It’s pouring and I’m longing for G&T weather. June can’t come fast enough! 🌧 🍹

Just wanted to tell you...Yoda only one for me 🥰
PSA: @bakerandtablecafe are making the CUTEST melonpan mochi buns!! I am obsessed with Baby Yoda (caramel mochi) and Totoro (cookies and cream mochi)! I am so impressed at not only how tasty they are but how amazingly handcrafted each bun is. Make sure to check them out as they’re participating in @hotchocolatefest. Pro-Tip: Call them to reserve the buns in advance so you’re not disappointed when they sell out! 🥰🥰

Alright. So. Every year for the holidays I make Chartreuse-spiked marshmallows. They are easy. They are delicious. They make great gifts. They take hot chocolate to the next level. And this year I didn’t make ‘em. It was a busy month. Time got away from my and I missed my marshmallow window
❄️ However! For the past 24 hours, it was been snowing here on the West coast of Canada and it has felt colder than I can remember since moving here 9 years ago
And so today I said screw it! It’s never too late and I want my spiked marshmallow hot chocolate!!!! It’s too cold to not partake in the joys of your favourite warm beverage. And I couldn’t be more pleased
Hope everyone is keeping cozy and enjoying the snow. What are you sipping on to keep warm on this chilly Monday?
