LOVE LIVE TRAVEL 🧭🌴✈️
Hermann Hesse

THE BEST CHEESE TOASTIE IN MY LIFE!
Yes you read that right, I am 100% putting this at the top of my food list. My face doesn’t look as excited as it did about 30 seconds after this was taken as I hadn’t taken a bite yet. But let me assure you it LIT UP!
If you’re ever in Sydney make sure you go check out @shifteatery - all vegan, so tasty, lovely staff and a deli to take away the best bits!
I love Germany. I truly do. It's a country, language and culture that's been a major component of my life for the better part of 14 years. I started learning German as an obsessed little primary school girl in Year 6, and continued the language throughout high school and as a major for my Arts degree at university. For those who knew me at school, I was obsessed with the language. I've lived in Germany twice, and spent probably almost a year of my life there altogether, listen to German podcasts more than English, have all my devices and accounts in German and will likely spend the rest of my life with a beautiful German boy. It's amazing how a language you choose to learn on a whim at school can have such an impact on your life. For me, it's influenced so much. I've met so many amazing people through speaking the language. Wherever I go, I never fail to meet at least a German or twenty. They, like Australians, travel everywhere. I will live in Germany again. It's inevitable. I have such a strong connection to the place, and so many reasons to be there. I have potential in-laws to visit (@the_prancing_prawn 😜) and many more hikes to do and Butterbrezeln and Kuchen und Torten und Käsespätzle (arguably Austrian) to eat. I even have a strong passion for German supermarkets. I goddamn LOVE Aldi and Lidl, and Rewe is pretty great as well hehe. Edeka and Kaufland not such much (the more expensive ones 😅). I know it's a very weird fascination, but I'm head I've heels in love with it all. Oh and the language is hilarious. Like seriously... How cute is the word Schlappen (this was taken in front of Schlappen, a renowned pub in Freiburg). Schlappen means 'slipper' and it's so adorable hehe. And for those yapping on about how ugly the German language is... Halt die Klappe!! .
