Does anybody else ever think about the type of "tired" they are? Or the type of "rest" they actually need? This post I came across from Shine the other day actually made a lot of sense to me.
What are your thoughts on the type of rest you need most is? Or what's the most important to you?
How do you rest and take care of you?
I am now qualified to offer Cupping Therapy. It's a very versatile technique, that can be used during a Sports massage, to relieve muscular tension and stretch fascia. It is an ideal treatment for those with cellulite too.
The major advantage is that cupping can be used during acute stage of injury and promotes and speeds up healing.
It is not a harsh or painful treatment-you will not be black and blue as I perform the technique according to the tradition.
For those of you wanting a relaxing massage and to increase the energy and Qi of your body, then this is the ideal treatment. I use the cups on acupressure points #Cupping therapy #sportsmassage#acupressure#injuries#healing

Why do injuries happen??!
Our bodies are able to incredibly adapt and with proper time, training and practice we can do just about anything! Injuries tend to happen when the load placed on a tissue (muscle, joint, tendon, bone, etc.) exceeds what that particular tissue is able to withstand. Injuries can happen in a few different ways.
1. A prolonged load - this would be like sitting at your desk all day. The structures in your neck that are holding your head up all day begin to fatigue after long hours. Then you all of a sudden turn your head and feel pain! -
2. A repetitive load - this would be like doing an exercise with reasonable weight but more repetitions that usual. Those extra repetitions start to fatigue your tissues and that is when injury can happen.
3. A fast, above-threshold load - too much, too fast. This would be like a broken bone or sprained ankle.
Injuries happen all the time. If you’re injured, worried about injury or want tips on injury prevention, book an appointment today! @massagemttrs@forces_of_nature_clinic -

Short-leg syndrome or leg-length inequality has been an issue of mine (left leg) for sometime now. The asymmetry between the legs can subtly change ones gait, alter motor unit recruitment patterns and if left untreated... may lead to many number of risk factors such as (OA) Osteoarthritis. .
Giving my surgical history, strength and muscular imbalance on my left leg, the weakness on my lateral subsystem has been one of my main focuses lately. Did a single leg test this morning and found my right QL/TFL/Adductor overworking while my left Glute Medius/Adductor/Psoas underworking. I was in pain all morning. .
✅Released right QL/TFL/Adduc/Glute Max
✅Activated left Psoas/Adduc/Glute Med
✅Pelvis leveled out
✅Gait got better
✅No more annoying back pain 💪🏻
If you have these issues get yourself checked out by a licensed PT or Chiro and find out the root cause of your pain. These exercises have helped me strengthen my imbalances so if you have some of the same issues try them out! .

Love these! I recently had sclerotherapy for some painful varicose veins. Recovery is not instant, but I couldn’t stand wearing the thigh highs all the time. These are great for my walks, driving & long periods of standing. No pain! Think I’ll look at socks and also a couple more pair of these. ❤️

⚔ How long will my case take to resolve? 🤷♂ This is a #commonquestion most #clients have. There are many #factors which can affect the length of the case, these are a few: ✅ Is there a clear #diagnosis and #prognosis of the injuries? It is important for us to not only understand your #injuries in the present, but what can be expected going forward - are your injuries going to get better or worse, are you going to need more #treatment , etc. 🏥🩺 ✅ Liability: Is the #defendant contesting who was at fault for the accident? If liability is disputed, the case can be extended because #litigation will most likely be necessary to prove who was at fault. ⚖ ✅ Insurance Companies: If the insurance company is not accepting the injuries which we feel are related to the incident, litigation may be required to prove what injuries should be compensated. The amount of insurance coverage can also factor into the length of the case. If the insurance company has a smaller policy, this can sometimes shorten the length of the case. 📃🥊 ✅ Venue: If litigation is required, the county of the court can impact the length of the case. Some courts are extremely overloaded with cases and it can take a long time to get the matter before a judge and jury at trial. Sometimes we are at the mercy of the court when it comes to scheduling. 👩⚖ Pray for Peace, Prepare for Trial. #law#lawfirm#grungocolarulo#newjersey#nj#southjersey
Injuries happen, they are never 100% avoidable, so what strategies can we take in order to develop in other areas that will carry over on your return to play

Injuries while sailing! Not always avoidable. This is when I broke the tip of my finger off. My old bronze and thick glass (very heavy) deck hatch crushed my finger at the hinge!! The hatch fully closed on my finger and crushed it. The bone was poking out of the skin. Definitely not a fun night. Good news is, half a year later my nail is half grown back hahaha #sailing#sailboats#adventure#mishaps#exploring#lakewinnipeg#injuries#brokenbones#ouch
Squats are one of the most important compound full-body exercises that work on many muscles together and the best part is that they mimic functional movement patterns 🏋♂

#fitness#fitnessmotivation#osteopathy#chiropractic#injuries#fitnessmodels#osteopatiavalencia#masajes#masajedeportivos#entrenamientos#trainer#training#personaltrainer
The road to recovery isn’t always easy, especially if knowing what direction to head in is unclear. I’ve been in a limbo state of diagnosis since I first injured myself 6 weeks ago. This is why you haven’t seen much of me being active other than some upper body and walking. And let’s be honest how exciting is that after a while... Being neither here nor there has been mentally trying. Even after dedicating myself to focus on other things I found that I was coming undone this morning, just before the call I’ve been waiting for. Finally some news..hence my “I have news!” pose.
I have a low grade Hamstring Tendon tear with the addition of a stress fracture in my Sacro Iliac (SI) joint. This can mimic the symptoms of Sciatica and upon original diagnosis from another practitioner was attributed as a tear in my Glute Med or Glute Min. From my MRI scans there was concern of a potential autoimmune condition due to the levels of inflammation present. I now know this is not the case and is due to the fracture and fluid in my bone. Confusing right?
I feel a sense of relief and also a sense of “what now”? Luckily I’m married to the King of Exercise Modifications @coach__carroll so I feel I’m in good hands. The key things I’ve taken away from this experience are...
1️⃣ Second, third, fourth opinions, ALWAYS. If it doesn’t seem right then do more research. Question those especially who claim to know everything.
2️⃣ Keep asking questions, even to the point where it’s annoying because it’ll lead to an eventual answer.
3️⃣ Tune in to my body even more so. We all have a breaking point. It’s not a matter of if but rather when.
I have been grateful for the Rest during this time and the challenge it has provided for me to look internally and assess where I’m at in all facets of life. I’m also ready to start making some changes in my activity and come to a place where I’m comfortable with my body again. I truly believe there is a lesson in everything. Time to put the teachings to work.
Super happy with my results from the orthopedic!
Healing process has progressed. Can see the bone health is coming along!
It’s only been 7 months! - For me, it feels longer lol.
Dr said, “It’s the athletes that stick to it. Continue training smart and listen to your body!”
Cannot just sit around and not strengthen the injured leg. If did so atrophy begins, along with promoting other physical injuries.
Soo, here I am strengthening that leg! For me, Leg day rocks!!! 👊🏼
I am so grateful to be hear good news! Grateful I am healing, am healthy, able to use my leg, and ABLE TO PURSUE FITNESS!

Everyone has struggled with one injury or another. What we do after the injury is what causes the re-injuries or niggling pains that continue to creep up. So, in this 3-part series, I want to address three main issues I see that triathletes (myself included!) continue to wrestle with re-injuries.
3. UPDATING YOUR SCHEDULE
It's easy to look at the pro triathletes go through incredible struggles and seam to bounce back quickly and go out and win a race. Three things we often don't take into account:
a. Their physical fitness is through the roof
b. They are probably much younger!
c. Most of them have a massive supports group of physios, sponsors, nutritionists and other miracle healers to get them back on their feet.
However, what I have appreciated more and more as of late is the honesty of top pros when they pull out of races and update their schedules due to sickness, injuries, or lack of fitness due to longer than expected recoveries. No doubt, it is a difficult thing for them to due based on sponsors, yearly-schedule, and income - but their eyes are on their long term goals.
POINT - If you are struggling with injuries, this may be the time to rethink you racing calendar. Yes, you may loose your entry fee, but it's a lot cheaper than going to the race, injuring yourself much worse, and then spending a couple months in recovery. Just saying,... HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS BE THINKING
Where do I want to be in 10 weeks?
- Still struggling with injuries with weaker fitness?
- OR, at the same level of fitness I am right now but stronger and injury free
