Here are some helpful interview tips while you wait for the interviewer to call you back into their office. Remember, a resume can get you an interview; but you have to get yourself the job! #resumesbyneen
What’s your favorite film? Drop a comment.
I was inspired to make this video because when I coach candidates, I’m always surprised when they choose stories in which they didn’t have a big role to play in getting something done. This typically becomes clear when I start probing. Candidates start to get a little nervous.
That’s usually not a good sign. But that’s ok! That’s why I’m here.My first tip for you is simple. Be the CENTER of attention.
If you’re trying to decide between a few stories, choose the one that best positions you as the star of the movie, even if it’s a smaller movie.
Now grab some🍿and enjoy!
🧠 Growth Mindset > Fixed Mindset 🧠
If you’re not familiar with this concept I highly recommend the book Mindset by Carol Dweck. No matter what stage you are at in life, if you have a fixed mindset you have to read this book. It’s eye-opening.
Good luck to a few of my clients who have got interviews today and tomorrow! I know you will smash it! 🙌
My top 3 interview tips; ⭐️ Do your prep! Then prep again, let them see how serious you are about the role. Research the company & look at latest industry trends. If you are doing a presentation, use the company logo, culture and style. Be aware of challenges the company are facing and how you can help solve them. ⭐️ Focus on what you can deliver and how you can add value, how you align to their business mission and objectives. Don’t ask about benefits/what you want from the company at this stage, demonstrate how fab you are first. ⭐️ POSITIVITY! Visualise the interview going really well and imagine success, receiving amazing feedback from the panel. Go to the interview with the belief that you are the best candidate for the role. Smile at everyone you meet and thank everyone (including reception staff) for their time 😊

Weird and creative questions help interviewers get insights on their candidates. Of course, there is no "right" or "wrong" answer to this type of question but it will give a hint on your true personnality and what your priorities are. You wouldn't have thought about this question before so it will put you under pressure to provide an answer whilst being able to quickly think on your feet!
They are looking for creative and innovative answers to see how you would handle tough situations! One answer could be that you would choose to have a phone/ laptop with wifi and a wind generator for the battery to keep the communication with your friends/ family and the second item could be something related to a hobby such as music. That way you would also have balanced both. 🎯 🏝
You'll hear more about these three in the coming weeks but they represent the very beginning of Interview Trainer.

Have you been caught off-guard when hit with the ever popular interview question- 'Tell me about yourself?' Read on for #tips to tackle this popular #interview question!
Tip1: Build a career narrative that ties into your objective. Name any relevant tools or technologies you plan to use in your next role.
Tip 2: Borrow language from your research on the company and the role. This showcases mutual alignment between your past experiences and the prospective employer's current needs.
Tip 3: Practice the pause. A nervous tick can cause us to ramble more than we meant to. Once you've made your closing remarks, take a step back and allow the interviewer to carry the conversation forward.

Have you ever been to an interview & got jumbled your words & barely answered all the questions like you practiced in the mirror?
If you want to nail the way you speak in interviews grab a copy
Tick tock - 1 hour left until your interview.
Sixty minutes until you prove your worth. Even if you prepared the night before, you will likely still get the jitters.
Remember: the 60 minutes leading up to your interview are VITAL. They will determine your state of mind during the interview. These 60 minutes are not when you are still driving in traffic on your way to the interview location. Or beginning to prepare for your interview - you should already be prepped.
This time is for you to relax.
These 30-60 minutes should be spent feeding yourself positive affirmations and eliminate all panic and negativity.
💭 Take deep, relaxed breaths.
☕️ Grab a coffee or your favorite beverage - sip slowly
🎧 Listen to some calming music
🙆♀️ Do some stretches
Do whatever you know will calm you and prep you mentally for that interview. If you need to go over your notes and resume one last time for a few minutes, go right ahead, but do it slowly and calmly - eliminate all panic.
Trust me - you will ace it because you will be your most authentic self during that interview.
💫 What relaxes you the most before a big event (meeting/interview/exam, etc)? 💫
If you’re getting interview opportunities and not getting offers have you considered getting some help?
Professional interview preparation is something I’ve been asked to help candidates with time and time again.
Learning how to fully prepare for a competency based interview is commonly overlooked.
Performing to your best ability through interview coaching can convert interviews to job offers instantly.
My #interview coaching sessions always start off by answering the most important question: ⚡ Why should we hire you?
The reason we start here is because most people struggle to answer this in an interview setting.
Knowing what skills and talents you offer an employer is essential to not only succeeding in an interview, but in deciding what type of work you will enjoy and do well.
Many professionals start the process too late when they have experienced an unwelcome change, such as a layoff.
As a result, they approach the #job search blind, often in “desperate job seeker” mode, and submit multiple applications with little to no consideration for the quality of roles.
Being strategic in your job search makes a difference in finding meaningful work that you’ll enjoy versus simply ending up in a job.
#Hiringmanagers respond well to candidates who have clear career goals, and can see the world from the employer’s perspective and how their skills, talents, and experiences can add value.
The next time you find yourself preparing for an interview or conducting a job search, ask yourself the following to help move you in the right direction: ▶️ What do you actually want to do?
▶️ In what areas do you really shine?
▶️ How do you want to apply your strengths?
❌ Wrong! ❌
Recruiters yawn at the usual “𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘏𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘳, 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳” generic blah blah on cover letters.
The only time it is okay not to add a cover letter to your application is when the requirements specifically say not to send one.
There are so many reasons a tailored cover letter is so important.
✅ It helps you convey your enthusiasm and passion about the job
✅ It makes a great first impression on the recruiter and silently tells them how professional you are
✅ It shows that you are serious about the job
✅ Helps your application stand out
✅ You can list your biggest achievements on it
✅ Allows you to address time gaps in your resume
✅ If you are changing careers or a fresh grad and have no relevant experience, a cover letter is your chance to make your case
There are so many other great advantages to take the time to write a tailored cover letter. Can you think of any more?

You have to believe in yourself! Confidence on the inside will show on the outside.
This is why preparing for an Interview is so important. The more you practice, the more confident you will be💯
The most critical part of any interview process is preparation. Below are three tips to help you prepare:
1) Do your homework: a. Study the organisation's website b. Look up LinkedIn for posts from the organisation. Look up the interviewer profiles but do not stalk them.
c. Know your resume inside out
d. Lastly, go through the job description to have an understanding of what the role entails.
2) Prepare solid examples to back up your skillset
3) Ask intelligent questions! The rule here is, ask questions as if you are hired. Prepare a list of all the relevant questions and then pick the best 3 questions. This will show that you have done your homework.
An interview can make or break your career. Put your best foot forward.

Every day we talk to our clients about trade-offs when it comes to career change. Very often this might be a financial trade-off or quite possibly a time trade-off. ~
If you are transitioning from a career you hate to something you are confident you will love, then are you prepared to tighten the purse strings for awhile (eg. less holidays or dinners out) or spend some of your free time working on a side business. These are some of the decisions that more than not need to be made if you are seriously considering pursuing a different career path. #careerdecisions #findworkyoulove

My face when I receive emails like this 🤩👏🏻🥳 [SWIPE LEFT]⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Watching my clients entire lives change for the better is the reason I became a career coach ✨
Receiving a job offer undoubtedly feels amazing but what happens AFTER they get the job means so much more.
🙏🏻 Finally being able to move out from parents house
🙏🏻 Finally saying goodbye to a shared bathroom
🙏🏻 Finally feel proud to talk about your career
🙏🏻 Finally being able to afford visit the places you kept dreaming about ⠀
🙏🏻 Finally feeling happy on Monday morning
And I can help you to achieve the same results
In my 1 to 1 career coaching I focus exclusively on what you need to do to convince the employer and people you will work with that you can do the job better than anyone else which will lead you to landing job offers at companies that previously rejected you

I’ve seen way too many people I love lose their peace of mind stressing over jobs they BARELY like. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve seen some clients struggle to engage in my process simply because their current job is so demanding of their time that they can’t find an hour to focus on their resume.
I’ve watch plenty of people sacrifice a healthy lifestyle/balance due to pressures to be a “super” professional and prove that work always comes first.
There is no reward for settling. There is no reward for exchanging happiness for other’s approval. There is no reward for pouring your time/energy into everyone else but yourself. There is no reward for letting people walk all over you. There is no reward for not advocating for yourself. There is no reward for letting people disrespect, belittle, or undervalue you. There is no reward for being constantly emotionally drained. There is no reward for literally working yourself to death.
The only reward is investing in yourself to put yourself in a better position in your career.
I do a little dance when I receive news like this 💃🏼[SWIPE LEFT]
Watching my clients entire lives change for the better fuels me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through my 1 to 1 career coaching, my clients have: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ Secured interviews at FTSE 100 companies
✅ Landed job offers at companies that previously denied them
✅ Secured job positions in new cities without a huge network
✅ Landed their 1st job ever just after graduating from university
✅ Iden the career path which matched their lifestyle and secured roles in entirely new industries ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But what happens AFTER they get the job means so much more.
🙏🏻 Finally feeling happy on Monday morning 🙏🏻 Finally being able to move out from a shared house
🙏🏻 Finally feeling proud to talk about your career
🙏🏻 Finally having a boss who wants to help you grow and develop into your best self 🙏🏻 Finally being able to be yourself at work because you’re around people who you actually like
🙏🏻 Finally being able to afford visit the places you kept dreaming about ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I care about my client’s life and success because I’ve been YOU.
📍I know the quiet nagging thought of, “I can do more than this.”
📍I’ve felt alone and stuck because everyone else thinks you should be grateful.
📍I know the gut-wrenching feeling you get when you find out you’ve been rejected yet again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
