Well, I know now. I know a little more how much a simple thing like a snowfall can mean to a person.
~ Sylvia Plath, author
Besides certain smells and songs, nothing brings back memories to me as quickly as the sight of a snowfall. I think back to memories of my own childhood—building forts, skiing, and making snowmen. And then I have the sweet memories of my own kids’ childhoods—sledding for hours, building snow families, and feasting on bowls of freshly fallen snow covered in maple syrup. But now it’s fine by me if I never see a snowflake again—EXCEPT for when I take a winter photograph! There’s nothing like the white stuff to set the cozy tone of an image or convey a winter’s chill. Here on the Cape, it’s been a mild, virtually snowless winter, so I’m recalling an image I took a year ago during a bitter cold sunrise. I’d much rather just recall the snow than shovel it!😂❄️
Have a wonderful week ahead!
