The disappearing snack shop 🍘
I’ve passed this shop, which sits on a corner in Shimokitazawa, many times and was always drawn to it. A man and woman work here selling various Japanese rice cracker snacks. The area, like many around Tokyo, is undergoing somewhat of a makeover to modern, replacing a lot of the old shops with endless cafes and stylish eateries. These rice cracker shops remind me of crack seed stores back in Hawaii, very much a part of the culture but maybe a culture that is evolving in a new direction.

Full from good food and good chats. This is my third time at this restaurant that serves like a Kaiseki style Korean food. Interior Design by @takumainoue 👨🏻

BTS finally had their comeback yesterday and the new album is sooooo goooddddd 💜💙 It's sad, nostalgic, hyped, and seductive at the same time. I had way too many feelings listening to it yesterday 😅

One of the biggest attractions in Nara are its wild deer. They usually bite in search of food if they see you with deer crackers. But if you move away from the center and go a little further you can find babies with their mothers🦌💓
➡️Legend has it that in the seventh century the god Takenomikazuchi-no-mikoto, one of the four gods of the Kasuha Shrine, had been invited to visit the sanctuary⛩ It is said that he had been invited from Kashima, and appeared on Mount Mikasa⛰ on the back of a white deer. Since then the deer has been considered a divine and sacred being. Killing one of these sacred deer was a capital offense punishable by death until 1637⛔️
➡️After World War II, they were officially stripped of their divine status, but were designated as national treasures👑 and are protected as such
Raise your hand to anyone who was bitten by a deer in Nara!🙋🏼♀️😂

The Otaru whiteout: I had never shot in conditions like this before. Autofocus was a no-go, and my viewfinder was getting covered in snow in between shots. Either way, I got some really cool photos! I especially like the person emerging from the fog in this one.
Warming up with a frost tree coffee ☕️☃️
Tenbou Cafe is a gondola ride up to a place called the Terrace of the Frost Trees in winter ❄️ or the Sea of Clouds in summer ☁️
I’m sure both would be incredible to see & I’ll definitely return one day in the summer months! This time we were unfortunate with the weather & couldn’t see any frost trees ☹️ but if you wonder what they look like, I happened to see some whilst skiing today & they’re on my stories! ❄️
