Headed to Michigan to speak at the On the Grow event in Lansing, this weekend, and meet up with 1000 other YL friends!! Who do we get to see??
❤️I’ll also be speaking at another event next Friday, linking both into bio, if you want to join us! Let me know if you want to come! ❤️And then we start packing #allthethings in our house. The biggest question is....how many empty Amazon boxes will I discover in the process 🙈
I think we keep them in business. 💯😅
It’s crazy to think that just a few years ago I never would have agreed to do any public speaking. Now, it’s one of my passions. And that passion has led to doors of opportunity 💯 like never before. .
Just say yes.
Let the world see you do something before you are ready. They don’t need to know all the details. Neither do you.
Go live your purpose. ❤️❤️❤️

Trying to find the right balance of having a social life, studying, trying to stay fit, eat well and having money seems to be and impossible task 😂. Planning and time management is key to achieving your goals. I believe in putting yourself first and taking care of your own mental and physical health. As if you’re not healthy yourself it will be harder for you to go help others. By implementing these few tips into my life style, it has helped me so much in achieving my goals 🖍Tips🖍
1. Find your best time: This could be getting it over and done with first thing in the morning or the last thing you do before you sleep
2. Create a study space: Create an area where there is no distinctions and where you feel comfortable.
3. Plan your time: At the start of the week or even Before you go to bed each day. Plan out what you have to do for that day. This could be setting alarms, doing up a wall planner or creating a To-Do list.
4. Find what works for you: the most effective why to study and retain information is to find a style that works for you. This my be auditory learning or Visual learning.
5. Take a break: Taking breaks every 20-30mins will help you relax and might make you realise or look at a problem a different way. But don’t use this as en excuse to not do work 😡

Faith. In God. It’s a beautiful thing. When you realise you don’t need to do things alone. When life becomes challenging or you become fearful in achieving big things, it takes a lot of pressure off knowing you have faith. Faith in divine guidance pulling you through “even if” times get tough. It is easy to get stressed over stuff until you remind yourself of the bigger stuff at play. Rely on God and I believe you can achieve a lot more! Reminder to self: through God you can achieve what others consider impossible. That’s my take on it anyway! Happy Thursday! #believer#creative#entrepreneur#havefaith#believe#justdoit#onelife#spiritual
There seems to be a great debate these days as to whether or not fruit is truly good for you. That fruit is nothing more than watery bags of sugar.
Although fruit DOES contain sugar, it’s NATURAL sugar, combined with nutrient rich fibers and vitamins that assist our bodies in breaking down this natural sugar in a healthy and much needed manner. Something that processed sugar does NOT do.
Eating a diet rich in fruit may reduce the risk of:
- Stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases
- Type-2 diabetes.
- Bone loss as we age.
- Certain cancers.
Fruit is essential for a well balanced and healthy diet.
1-3 Cups of fruit is recommended daily, depending on your personal calories requirements.
So instead of grabbing for that processed sugary snack when the cravings hit, grab some fruit instead. Over time your cravings for processed sugar will decrease.
Let’s talk veggies.
We all know that veggies are good for us.
They: -are vitamin dense
-protect against arthritis, heart disease, stroke, dementia, cancer, and can even slow down the aging process.
-contain nutrients that improve resilience to stress
-are high in heart healthy fiber, which helps you feel full. -are low in calories, so you can eat away, without guilt!
-And when prepared right, taste delicious!
For those who have a hard time getting enough veggies in their day (like I did) here is a tip that I used... Try to Incorporate 1/2 to 1 Cup of veggies in each meal.
Add spinach, diced tomatoes or bell pepper to your scrambled eggs and omelettes.
Add spinach or kale or romaine lettuce to your sandwiches.
Make sure dinner includes SOMETHING veggie related. Steamed, baked in, or puréed and snuck in a sauce... Do this enough and you’ll be reaching for them voluntarily before you know it! 😛
So I may have overdone it a little bit yesterday. My shoulder is hurting me today. I’m not injured, I just pushed a little too hard.
It’s SO important to listen to your body. Push yourself but don’t hurt yourself.
A little ice and rest and I’ll be good as new!
No matter what, DON’T quit!
For all those horror movie buffs out there, I’m sure you’re excited about the upcoming Friday the 13th marathon that will be taking place this Friday!
Instead of pizza, how bout this time you set the mood this Friday with something equally delicious and gruesome looking that’s ACTUALLY good for you!
Enter Healthy Chili Spaghetti Squash Boats!
What you’ll need:
1 spaghetti squash
1 lbs ground turkey or pork
One onion chopped
One bell pepper chopped
2 cloves chopped
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can kidney beans drained/rinsed
1 cup red wine
1 T chili powder
1 tsp red pepper flakes
Brown meat halfway, add onion, bell peppers, salt and pepper. Cook until meat is browned and vegetables are tender.
Transfer into crock pot, add the rest of ingredients (except the squash and olive oil) and stir. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
During the last hour of cooking preheat the oven to 400*
Using a fork, poke holes down the center of the spaghetti squash and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Allow to cool for 5 minutes. Cut the squash in half lengthwise and lightly drizzle the inside of each half with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Place on baking sheet, open side down and bake for 30 to 45 minutes or until tender and the tops of the domes are lightly browned. Turn over and shred squash with a fork. Pour 1 to 1 & 1/2 cups of chili inside squash. Top with shredded cheese, cilantro or avocado and Greek yogurt.
This stuff right here was a lifesaver this morning.
I think of it like pedialite for adults.
It has WAY less sugar and sodium than other sports drinks out there. It really does the trick in rehydrating you and keeping you hydrated. *for more information click my link in the bio
I am NOT feeling it this morning. Another sleepless night and allergies attacking me, I’d rather just lay half asleep on the couch all day. We all know that can’t happen 😂
Energy creates more energy. Laying still does NOT. So here I go. I need this!
Ok Monday let’s do this.
I usually take this day to plan out my menu for the next week. It makes life so much easier and decreases my chances of eating out or grabbing what’s easy and fast.
Food prep and/or menu planning is truly the key to success in healthy eating. It takes the guess work out during your busy weeks.
So stop asking yourself what's for dinner every night and make a plan! It will help you to eat more healthy and wholesome foods.
Start slow, take baby steps. Diving in head first and cooking an entire weeks worth of meals may overwhelm you and frustrate you - especially if you aren't a total whiz in the kitchen. Everyone meal preps differently - some cook specific meals, some just wash/chop produce. It depends on your needs.
I always make sure though that I have plenty of fresh produce ready to go in the fridge. Prep for two days in advance (you could actually cook your meals, or just prep produce, portion out your snacks, etc.) Here are some meal prepping tips to try. -plan out specific meals you’ll make for your family during the week -cut & season protein, label baggies by date and meal -smoothie bags - these are amazing! Throw your fruit into baggies, label with date, and freeze -wash/chop/portion produce -prep/portion your snacks, throw into baggies, and label -lettuce - cut, wash, spin dry - store in a baggie in fridge with paper towel to keep fresh
Do a little bit at a time. Ease into this and enjoy yourself! Turn on your favorite show or music and have fun!
You’ll be glad you did 👍
As a busy Mama of 4, I know how hectic the house can get when they come home from school. We Mamas always make sure our Littles are well nourished with a yummy snack, but often we forget about ourselves.
How long has it been since you’ve eaten?
Grab yourself a healthy snack to help your body refuel.
Now let’s take on the afternoon!
Wanted to share a bit of nonsense this morning
This picture represents my happy little kitchen corner.
Everything you see (with the exception of the actual cooking utensils) has a meaningful memory behind it.
The sign was given to my Husband and I on our wedding day
The ladybug hanging on it represents our family’s guardian angel and also reminds me of Isabeau.
The paper butterfly is the very first gift Jack made for me.
Leath gave me the little bird on the counter
The glass pitcher was in my kitchen growing up.
The olive oil bottle was one of the first kitchen specialty items ever given to me
The dish the salt and pepper are sitting in is the last piece from the very first set of dishes I ever purchased
And the Cardinal is a symbol of prosperity and hope for our family.
Every time I’m in the kitchen, this little corner makes me smile and I think of those happy things.
The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in a house. We’re there most of the time. It’s where we eat, cook, gather around the fridge for a snack or chat. The kitchen needs to be a happy place as well as a functional place.
This is my little corner.
I’d love to see yours 😛
