🌞 50-something degrees today . . . possible snow early this week . . . bring on the spring because this little bottle lamb is ready to break free of the basement for some barnyard living [🤔 or maybe im just ready for it to be outside] . . . but for today, it got to roam around us while we cleaned the garage . . . stayed closer then a dog >>> one of these kids on the other hand did not stay close and took a spill into a big puddle 🤣 #katahdinsheep#iowafarm#lambing2020#hotchocolateforthewin
An eventful day at the barn. We had to assist with the delivery of four lambs but, all are healthy and the mamas alive and well. Proud of Camille @camillefegan for hanging in, listening to what needed done and helping to make it happen. #sheepfarmer#lambing2020#shepherdess
That's the Kerry Hill ewes in for lambing in the next few weeks. Also a Blackie ewes who seems to have got with the tups a few weeks before she was supported to. Main lambing doesn't start until April #kerryhillsheep#lambing2020#farminglife
The weather is still minging here with loads of rain and high winds so to cheer myself up I’ve posted a picture with all the promise of spring! 🌷🌞🐑
Not that I want to wish the time away but hurry up and arrive already!! It felt like it was creeping up on us slowly but now I’m not so sure, with one farmer this weekend pointing out the reality that really we’re only half way through winter from a cattle management perspective!! Grim!! 🙈
We literally have a handful of ewes here on the farm but lambing has got to be my favourite time of year. The ewes are easy enough for me to handle so I can really get stuck in and learn and the lambs are just adorable.
I’d really like to get some proper lambing experience in the future but circumstances this year meant I couldn’t go for it!
Something for me to aspire to next year if anyone will have me 👩🏼🌾💕🐑 #mondaymorningmood#promiseofspring#stormciarawho#townieturnedfarmer#learningtheropes
