Quite a few years back @andyourstory shot our earrings and headpiece with @mirrormirrorbridalcouture gowns and we actually can’t believe how classic and timeless the photos are. #Repost@andyourstory with @make_repost
Authenticity was a big trend in 2019 and, being a photographer, I’ve had to give the subject some thought. My job is posing people, taking them out of the everyday, elevating their environment. Our time together is often about hair and makeup, the perfect dress, the perfect pose. How authentic is this?

On cold days and night like this. I’m thankful for my cuddle buddies Beans and Tiggy. Hopefully y’all have someone, a fur baby or something to snuggle with. Hold the ones you love close and never let them go.
I will never grow tired of intimate at-home shoots ☺️ бывает такое, когда что-то настолько сильно нравится, что грустно становится просто при мысли, что это может когда-то надоесть?
so ive gotten a quiet a bit of new followers since I last introduced myself so:
HELLO THERE! my name is Amanda and I will be your tour guide this evening :) a few fun facts about me:
▪️I just recently got into watching the bachelor I KNOW RIGHT 🌹 ▪️when i was pregnant with my son we thought he was a girl for a very long time until we were told otherwise (oops sorry Benji) ▪️I’ve dyed my hair so many colors in the last year that even I can’t remember what color it is half the time ▪️I’m the GIF queen. If I could chat just in GIFs or MEMEs I would. Don’t tempt me.
so YES voila it’s me! I haven’t posted in forever but wanted to say hey to everyone that’s joined this crazy social media journey with me and I want to say thank you so much for pressing that follow button. I get excited each time I get a notification of a new follower because it feels like making a brand new friend!
so leave a comment below saying hi! 👋🏼
What better backdrop for @jessgarinet and @chrisgarinet couple portrait session than the Thames? One of the most historic landmarks in London, framing a moment of togetherness on the most historic day of their lives- perfection! Jess and Chris held their wedding at @winchestervenue in London which was such an excellent choice. In the city that holds so much meaning to them, Winchester House brought together all their nearest and dearest for the best day!
With me and my camera being forgettable (and rightly so!), Jess and Chris shared their first moment alone since they had become husband and wife. I love their shared look of love in this photo. A simply knowing of the excitement and expectation for their future in marriage.
What is so essential for this kind of moment is a relaxed atmosphere, something I work so hard to create for my couples. With a relaxed vibe, the rest will easily follow. The feeling of anticipation for the future, the giggles over private jokes, the confidence that love is looking back at you. Jess and Chris were great at forgetting about the camera and part of what helped towards that was our engagement session before the wedding. It was a brilliant opportunity for them to get used to how I work and to being in front of the camera, and also for me to get to know them as a couple. And I love the photos that came from their couple portraits- a look of love made to last!
“Show me your ‘OMG WE JUST GOT MARRIED’ face”
Things I can promise any couple that books me:
⚡️Ample drinking time
⚡️an organised chaos mentality
⚡️All your small moments captured
⚡️Buckets of fun
⚡️A relaxed approach to your couple portraits
I’ve worked out I spend on average 60 hours on every wedding I photograph. That’s 60 hours of emails, phone calls, photographs, backing up, culling, editing, delivery, gifts, surprises, advice, help with timeline, supplier recommendations and a few more things I have forgotten. Basically...it’s not just hours I’m at your wedding
My photographer hasn’t shot at our venue before? 📸
Okay so I get asked this question a lot and thought I would just give my two cents because I feel like when you google “what should I ask a wedding photographer when I meet them”, this one pops up and in my opinion it’s great to ask but shouldn’t be your deciding factor when selecting your photographer.
Any great professional wedding photographer should be 100% able to adjust their settings for any kinda lighting situation, that’s sort of photography 101, so don’t fear if your venue is too bright or too dark that won’t be a worry for some photographers because we’ve shot hundreds of places over the years and if your photographer knows their gear, they will be fine.
And secondly as a photographer we are super creative, we have to be, it’s our job and one that we love! So coming to a new venue with fresh eyes is super awesome for us. If you shoot at the same venue all of the time that could potentially mean your photos become a bit samey! But a photographer who is passionate and excited about what they do will always find great opportunities anywhere.
And last but not least, where you have your photos on your day, like the ones of just the two of you or your groups, will totally be up to the lighting we get dealt on that day. I am 100% confident in being able to think on my feet, see where the best available lighting is and act accordingly, I’ve got your back!
I am SO lucky to photograph 30+ weddings a year, and with some of them being abroad, at peoples homes in their gardens or a wedding venue, it’s not not physically possible for me to shoot everywhere.
So go for the photographer who makes you feel most comfortable and whose photos you connect with you the best, because that is the most important thing to think about when you’re picking your photographer.
There you have it, go for someone who you love! Who’s experienced, and who makes you feel at ease.

Spent last night at @dlloftchi meeting and catching up with a bunch of Chicagoland wedding vendors. Biggest shoutout to @kerricarlquist and @debililly for throwing such a fun get-together for all of us to enjoy and for reminding me how important community is in this industry (and in this life!!) 🥂
Tiny lovers in a vast landscape. | Ross and I are heading back to Scotland tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to making more memories in the highlands with him, spending time with his sweet family, catching up over dinner with some of our best friends and all of the shoots that will take place over the next few weeks! | Last night Ross and I played board games with some of my Chicago family and had plenty of coffee and cold brew gelato, and the winner of each round got to pick the music Siri played. I was then reminded of how much I love Motown via my Uncle and now that’s all I’ve been listening to this morning! | Remember to cherish all of the friends and family in your life who make your day to day moments more beautiful! | Cheers to a lovely start to a new week! | Also, I have just a few more wedding openings for 2020, if anyone wants me to capture you and your love! | #travelweddingphotographer .
