This is the warmest it’s been in the house in four days. And honestly, if a pipe hadn’t burst and started flooding the bathroom it would still be 40 degrees in here. I do NOT reach out for help unless the world is falling apart, but I took myself up to the neighbor‘s house in tears at 8:30pm last night and asked what I should do. He IMMEDIATELY threw his coat on and came down to show me how to shut off the water and he checked out the pipe promising to come over after work today to fix it and turn the heat back on. This guy works a long ass day and is due to work an overnight tomorrow too, but he knelt on my bathroom floor, getting dirty and wet for more than three hours (with a run to Tractor Supply in the middle) until the pipe was fixed and then he restarted the furnace. He taught me a few things, talked at length about animals, hugged me and told me not to cry again - come over and get him for anything. He even offered money if I need it.
I am beyond myself with gratitude. He’s never going to know exactly how much THIS moment meant. In the darkest, most desperate place of my life I received help, kindness, generosity and love. It’s more than having heat and hot water again- it’s feeling worthy of help and kindness and love. It’s knowing that I’m less alone than I think and that human miracles truly exist in the world.
I’m telling you, if you haven’t invited gratitude into your life and made it a practice, start NOW. I swear to God it is what brings even MORE to you and the blessings add up. Despite my life being a steaming mess right now, I wake up and go to bed every single day reminding myself what (and whom) I am so lucky to have in my life. Some days it’s harder than others to get to that headspace, but there is ALWAYS something. Knowing this, focusing on this and practicing this has been the only thing to get me through a lot of these dark days and it has multiplied my fortune immensely.
I am beyond thankful. |
If you know me, you know how much my Puppy (not bunny, you know who you are 🤣) means to me. He’s been falling apart for a while now but I still hang on to him. Today I found my husband fixing him up for me. Stuffing him and sewing his many holes. Not only do I have my Puppy back but I have the greatest man in the world. January has been pretty tough and Steve has gone above and beyond to try to make things just a little bit easier. Not sure what I did to deserve him but I consider myself crazy lucky 💕

My bacons last day was today. Going to miss the crap out of her but I am so excited for her next chapter in life! Trying to stay smiling because I know we will still get into trouble, probably more. Thanks for all the amazing technician advice and guidance over the years @_jamiee5 ❤️ #family#newchapters#vettech#lucky#myperson#wefunny
Throwing it back to family selfies, shenanigans, and a whole lotta love. Looking back at these pics remind me how lucky I am. It also reminds me that others may not be as lucky. I’ve seen so many posts today about hard days, struggles, illness...so many people are going through hard times that we don’t even know about 💔
So count your blessings, say prayers for those that need them, and be thankful for what you have 💞🙏
💙My nephews are everything to me.💙
It's not just being an aunt to them.
It's so much more than that.
It's the gift, as they were pretty much miracles to begin with. 💫
It's an eye opener, because I never thought I wanted children of my own until I had them in my life. 👶👶
It's a punch to the throat when they look at you all bashful but also when they hug and kiss me. 💋
It's making you tear 😢 up when you hold them for the first time, rock them to sleep 🤱and realize how big they've gotten, or they tell you how pretty you are when you've just come from the gym.
It's the little hearty giggles that you get when you tickle them or make them laugh at some ridiculous dance you're doing to get them to dance too.🕺💃
More importantly, if they ever feel that they need someone to trust, someone to rely on- I'll always be there waiting for the moment they ask me for anything. They can talk to me, confide in me, ask me difficult questions. They will always know that I will be there to guide them or help them. I'll be there through the tough times and the good times.
I'm so dang lucky. And I don't know what I would do without these too. They've taught me some valuable lessons along with my amazing SIL with being a mother.
Love you always.

Minnie does NOT like the colder temperatures here in #florida !
We truly tried today. It was more rain by the time I arrived to walk Scarlett and Lucky. But it was still cold.
Poor Lucky with her endless amount of energy, even she wasn’t thrilled with being wet and cold halfway through our walk. At least we got to play a bit after drying off inside. #irishsetter#Lucky#playwithme#neverwalkalone#stl

What is it about this guy that drives us all mad? You felt it too, right? That somersault sensation where you sort of assume your spleen might be? That ghost fingers on your scalp, tingling in the back of your brain thing? Just looking at this 12-week-old Husky mix gives us the ASMR feels. Spending time with him sends us into an alternate reality. Because he's amazing. Truly and totally out of this world. Ludlow is easy going, social and friendly. He loves other dogs and is eager to learn, explore, and interact with his humans. He's quick on the uptake and athletic. Also kind and well behaved even at such a young age. He'll probably be in the 50s or 60s weight wise full grown, and he'll need to join an active family where he'll get lots of exercise and training to keep his growing mind and body fit. His foster mom says: "It’s gonna be so tough saying goodbye to Ludlow, He’s is the sweetest boy. It’s been such a joy having him around. He’s already potty trained and he lets me know when he needs to use the bathroom by going up the stairs and waiting patiently so I can open the door. He uses wee pads when I’m running errands, and not only that but he surprisingly knows that his bully sticks and chew toys are the only thing he’s allowed to destroy and teeth on. Most puppies tend to rip and nibble everything they see, but so far not Ludlow. He’s definitely mature for his age. He sleeps throughout the entire night, which was shocking since I figured he would get up in the middle of the night but nope! He sleeps on his bed next to mine. I was hoping he would come hop into my bed eventually, but he seems to know the difference between my bed and his and I wake up to find him in the same spot I left him. I really started to shed tears as we played, He’s so special." Interested in adopting?
