alright now that y’all know how the ‘behind closed doors’ of this session went down let me just talk about this momma-to-be for a hot second ✨
these guys were visiting for a wedding and they wanted to get some maternity pictures done too! They got maternity pictures done at this exactly beach park two years ago with their first little fella so recreating some of those photos was so special to them!
I had never been to this park and wow was I missing it out. It was so beautiful; right outside of honolulu but it wasn’t busy at all, there were maybe 15 people at the beach, it was perfect! for real, look at that sunset shining through the palms 😍😱
I spent the whole day in Honolulu at the most amazing Starbucks ever before I headed to this session. Y’all, this Starbucks had white cheddar mac ‘n cheese and cheesecake, oh and pizza filled pretzels, WHAT!! why doesn’t every Starbucks have that kind of shiz?! It was a dream for my foodie self 🤤 anyway I spent the whole day editing away and snacking, then I packed up and headed to this beauty of a beach!
I had never been here so I got here early and thank goodness I did because on the way there my car overheated 🙃 I immediately called my dad because this chick doesn’t know the first thing about car whatsoever, my dad said I needed coolant but I can’t go get any because I have to do this session in 45 minutes and with Hawaii traffic I would never make it there in back in that time!! I wait until the session is over to drive a few miles to the closest oreillys to get coolant, alright, I’m on the road to oreillys and my temperature gauge is good all the way in the cold; or so I thought, NOPE, within three minutes my car is overheating again so I pull off the highway into a neighborhood and call my dad again, we decide I shouldn’t drive it any further and to call AAA.
fast forward almost two hours and AAA is here to save the day and tow my car home. 🙌🏼 the next day, is spent trying to figure out why my car is leaking coolant. After a couple dozen FaceTime calls two my bothers and my parents, Zack and I, ok maybe just Zack (but I held the flashlight) figured out that one of my hoses popped off! Whew, a quick and easy fix and we could do it ourselves!
so moral of the story show up for sessions early, pay for AAA (I can’t tell you how many times they have saved me and my broken down cars in the past year, ok more like the past five months), and be kinda of nice to your brothers because one day you’ll live 4000+ miles away and need them to give you car advice 😅
We just love 😍this photo. Taken at the booty crack of damn, these two were already having the best day, and it just got started. If you have been on any of our tours, 😜 you can only imagine what is going on here
If you are in these photos, comment and we will tag you 😉

ok, if golden hour could always look like this that’d be great 🌅 .
I showed up quite a bit early to scout this location out since I had never been here. I typically scout out new locations well before the session but these guys booked with me just days before so I made it work!
this beach was so quite and calm and there were hardly any people on it, it was good! I wish it wasn’t so far from my house or I’d shoot every beach session here, it was that perfect!
As I’m sitting in bed - trying to fight off the cold that’s been trying to get me for a couple of days I’m taken back to quiet hikes down beautiful valleys with my pup and beautiful company 💕
Not gonna lie you guys these past few weeks have been incredibly hard for me and I am so incredibly thankful to all the amazing people that have been by my side and supported me, unconditionally. #inspiregoodness
Thank you for making our dinner so much more enjoyable last night. We were so happy that you were there, but we're really sorry that we had to eat you. You were exceptionally tasty with lemon. 🦐🍋
The flame grilled Gyu Tan was great, along with the Chirashi that was the ⭐ of our dinner. The freshest slices of sashimi with super creamy uni. I enjoyed the saba the most! The perfect slice of marinated mackerel with a subtle taste of vinegar lingering on my palate.
It’s Sunday and that means Aunty’s Pastele Lumpia’s are on deck from 12-5pm. See you soon!!! Check today’s full tap list at Inuislandales.com Link in bio ☝🏽

Did you know that some fish are known to cause hallucinogenic poisoning? Like the Nightmare Weke, eat one and you might have some not so fun dreams later that night 👻

Been really trying to focus on taking a break between orders to make something new & different & use up all the leftover string from big projects! It has been so fun to see what’s possible to make with just some scraps of rope! 🤍🌿

PUA KALA; Hawaiian Prickly Poppy #endemic
🌱 Pua Kala, appropriately translating to “thorny flower”, and commonly known as Hawaiian Prickly Poppy, of the Papaveraceae family, is the only poppy endemic to Hawaii. This means that nowhere else in the world does it grow native.
🌱 Its grey-green prickly stalk displays snow white flowers most closely compared to the Mexican Poppy, Argemone Mexicana, which displays very similar, though yellow, delicate flowers. The reason it developed thorns is unclear to botanists because initially these plants did not have any predators that they may need to protect themselves from.
🌱 With only two varieties (decipiens and glauca), they were easily distinguished not only by the number of prickles on its capsules, but by their altitude specificity. Now growing freely throughout the islands, these plants are sure to capture your attention. Its flowers appear sporadically year round and are as delicate as they look; each only lasting about a day, and wilting almost immediately upon being picked. Once pollinated these flowers become attractive seed pods with the same blue-grey color of its stem, that when dry, spit to expose numerous dark brown seeds.
💥 Don't get confused (or excited), this plant is toxic. It does not contain morphine or codine like the opium poppy but rather stomach irritating alkaloids. Despite this, early Hawaiians used its latex sap and seeds for nerve pain, ulcers and as a topical for warts.

The mirror at smith and king’s is my fav 😍 Also look at my cute purple scrunchie!! I’m a scrunchie addict lately 💜
Do you have a favorite selfie mirror too? And how many scrunchies do you own? 😋
Apparently I missed national pet day the other day but lucky for Mowgli, I spoil him every day! 😂 We adopted him from @hawaiianhumane almost 3 years ago and he has brought endless happiness to our lives! He’s a pretty good studio assistant too. 😉 Stop by @thesunroom_hawaii during my open studio hours Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 11am to 4pm and you might get to meet him (he’s a little shy though)! Who else is as obsessed with their fur baby as I am?! 🐶
This is my favorite hike. It is the definition of adventure. Between treading through icy water in dark tunnels, walking on the edge of cliffs and breathing in the cool mountain air. You get completely disconnected from reality. You forget all your troubles - and I really needed that.
