Shift workers, we need to pay attention and stay ahead of the game. We are going in reverse. We are exposed to excessive nighttime light and altering our sleep-wake schedule, which causes asynchrony between the circadian and sleep systems. The attempt to remain awake at night and sleep during the day can lead to sleep deprivation, as daytime sleep tends to be more fragmented. .
We are fragmenting ourselves. We are giving ourselves major mood disorders, cognitive function deficits including negative effects on learning and memory, alertness, and concentration.
I can go on into digestive problems leading to health problems and hormonal imbalance leading to chronic diseases. .
So you think I care as an ER Trauma Nurse. You bet I do. I care as functioning member of society too. .
There’s nothing better than starting the week off strong with Strength Endurance tomorrow. But be careful not to fall into the trap of just “going through the motions”. 🙅🏻♀️

The past couple of weeks have been full of long mileage, less sleep, and a lot more coffee. One thing that I try to incorporate during the week are ‘rest’ days, since recovery is just as important as training. Cuddle sessions with my mini while using our @airrelax compression boots has definitely helped speed up my recovery for my next run. 👌🏽☺️

He is my youngest son Thomas. 6 months ago he decided to change his eating habits completely. Seeing how my husband and I began to be more aware of our diet, lowering the consumption of sugar, simple carbohydrates and fats, he decided to do the same. He started doing his sports in a much more disciplined way. He began to eat fruits and vegetables when he had never wanted to try them and began to drink his herbalife protein shakes for breakfast and daily snack. 6 months after that.... he has become much stronger and faster in soccer, he has not got sick and in school he is much more focused. He feels spectacular and happy with his change !!
