On Wednesday’s we trend set BUT we’re putting aside our #StyleWatch today and taking a closer look #MillennialTrends in the housing market📉🏡📈 63% of millennials have been found to use their phone as they primary research tool for real estate so here we are, CALLING ALL MILLENNIALS 📲 Millennials are already well on their way to becoming the driving force in the residential real estate market, a role they’ll likely continue to play for decades to come but today we’re taking a closer look at why that is, what’s holding them back and most importantly, how we hurdle these roadblocks together 👯♀️ ‘Down payment’ has historically been such a scary word when you’re just starting out in this process but it’s important to note that 40% of today’s mortgages are done with only 3-5% down 🤯 Not only that, there are conventional and government-insured loan programs that help #FirstTimeHomeBuyers specifically to ensure fixed rate loans, down payment AND closing cost assistance! 🤑 You just have to ask! 🗣 We are in a sweet spot in the market for buyers and specifically, first-time home buyers that we’re pushed out of their budget due to high competition, higher prices and higher rates over the past year and a half or so. Today, I shared a small starter/investment unit for a reason. Lately I’ve heard WAY too many powerful single women say they’re not reaaally thinking about buying property because they aren’t sure what’s going to happen next in their life.. sound familiar?
I hear ya, loud and clear — I’ve been there. It’s weird to be in a transitional time making seemingly concrete commitments. But if it’s a goal of yours set it.
Buying a place is a lot. You can’t predict the future — what if you meet the love of your life and they want to move to a 6 month yoga retreat in Costa Rica!?.. now what are you supposed to do with this tiny apartment?! Rent it👏🏼 — It will subsidize your green smoothies and some day will act as a retirement fund or help to flip it into a larger place, it's like a bank account that you can't really touch (& that's a good thing). Buying isn’t for everyone. But if you’re intrigued there are SO many opportunities for first time home buyers, small down payments + rates are low. Commit to having the conversation with yourself/an advisor and making a conscious choice whether you want to or don't. If you do — commit to your goal. Different strokes for different folks, it's not for everyone but don't put off the decision - make it for you and be intentional.
Like all big things - it's a scary and intimidating - empower yourself to commit if you want it, OWN it.
I can't tell you how excited I get for people to make this jump. You are your own soul mate (cc @gbarretto13), make decisions with yourself first and foremost.
GUYS: this applies to you just as much if you find yourself in this position! I'm shouting out to the ladies because that's who I've heard from and I relate to them, I am one.
Bottom line: #Wednesdaywisdom is don't put off big decisions due to factors you can’t control- get educated and be intentional with what you choose and the direction you are heading with your life. Either way you're doing great keep it up 🌟👏🏼
