Table numbers or should I say table places?🤍 For our wedding instead of table numbers we had them with places. These places were all super important to our relationship - Dunedin, Taupo, Kerikeri and Aramoana. A really nice way to make your wedding more personal and were great conversation starters!
They were made with frosted acrylic. The names were 3D white cut out acrylic too. I even had a few people ask me if they could take them. 👀 Take a peek at the florals.
Blake + Sharna’s wedding at @driftwoodshed on Saturday boasting awesome vibes, tandem bicycles, neons, a sweet sunset, a billy goat and Ruby, Sharna’s family dog, an Australian Silky Terrier who was part of the bridal party. You can see Ruby pictured just in frame to the left of the first image and being all cute in the second image 🐕 ... also billy featured in the last image 🐐

WEDDING Q + A: WHAT DO I NEED TO GIVE MY PHOTOGRAPHER?
Let's talk wedding day details! Photographers love them, but couples don't always understand why they're important - after all, there's no people in the photos, so why should it matter? Here's the thing: a beautifully laid out shot of your invitation, perfume, and jewelry might not be a photo that you hang on the wall (although if it is - more power to you!), but it's a photo that helps set the tone for your wedding day, one that you can look back at and remember how much you loved the custom watercolor crest you had painted for your invitations, or the way you felt when you first sprayed that perfume on your wrist, or how excited you were to put on the custom cuff links your partner had made for you.
All those little details can get lost in the day - but those photographs? They capture it all - so one day when your memories start to get fuzzy (look, I've been married for almost 3 years and I don't think I fully remember what my invitations look like - and I designed them myself!), you'll have a set of photos that can instantly transport you back to the excitement and anticipation of getting ready on your wedding day.
Are you convinced yet? Here's a quick cheat sheet of different details you can bring for your photographer on your wedding day - chances are, you'll have lots of these with you already, but make sure to make a list of the things you won't already have, so you can set them aside in advance!
∙ Your stationery suite (use an extra one that hasn't been mailed!), vow books, and other paper goods
∙ Veil, shoes, jewelry, your rings, other bridal accessories
∙ Tie, bow tie, cuff links, belt, pocket square, handkerchief
∙ Special personal touches, like ring boxes, a dress hanger, heirloom pieces, cultural pieces (I *love* gilded oyster shells for details shots for weddings down here in Louisiana!), special ceramics...the possibilities are endless!
Don't forget to ask your florist to include a few extra stems when they deliver your bouquets so that your photographer can include your beautiful florals in those detail shots, too!

Quietly introducing a refreshed look for Leighwood Design Studio. This refresh has been a long time in the making and is definitely far from being complete. ⠀
What is complete though, is the new logo! I'm so excited to finally be able to share it with more than just a few people. It's been months in the works and I've gotten so much valuable feedback that helped to guide me down the appropriate paths. ⠀
There's so much I want to share about this refresh and rebirth, but I'll start with this: ⠀
March marks Leighwood's fourth birthday. And in those years I've learned and grown so much. As a person, as a business owner, as a woman. This rebrand is a reflection of that transformation. It still has many of the same traits that most of my logo designs have had, but with a more refined and mature tone about it. ⠀
This happens to also be the same direction that my work has been going. Minimal, refined, but still approachable and refreshingly timeliness.⠀
Over the next few weeks (and months), I'll be transforming even more elements of my business and client experience. And to get the first treat of this new look, come visit me at the @offwhitestl Wedding Show on Sunday at the @palladiumstl

Something that sounds great in theory but can be messy in practice: Telling your girlfriend she can have “whatever she wants” for an engagement ring.⠀
How you think it sounds: Beyond generous and romantic⠀
What really happens: She’ll start looking at rings and realize she’s not actually sure what price range she should stay in, because there is literally no limit. What if she shows you a ring and you’re like, “WHAT?!! No! That’s CRAZY!” So maybe she’ll settle on something she doesn’t really love because she thinks it’s probably what you actually want to spend, and she doesn't want to look ungrateful. ⠀
…See how much mental energy she’s putting into what you thought was the ultimate gift? ⠀
So let’s be honest, are you truly giving her free reign to make absolutely anything? Have you shopped around and do you know what an engagement ring typically costs? Have you talked with her about what she likes? Do you know what those type of rings cost? If not, do not make this offer! And if you do want to go ahead and say that, have the tough conversation about what it really means. Everyone has a budget. I see this situation often, and it hijacks the entire process.⠀
