The companies issued a joint statement from the SIS Global Forum in Monaco announcing the launch of DELFI, a cloud-based platform loaded with software for exploration, development, production, storage tanks and pipeline projects. “Never before has our industry seen a collaboration of this kind, and of this scale,” Schlumberger CEO Olivier Le Peuch said in a statement. “Working together will accelerate faster innovation with better results, marking the beginning of a new era in our industry that will enable us to elevate performance across our industry’s value chain.” Initially developed by Schlumberger for Chevron, DELFI resides entirely on Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform. Cloud computing, which relies on internet connections to powerful online servers, is rising in popularity in the oil & gas industry.
In addition to saving money and space on computer equipment and processing power, software and artificial programs on cloud computing platforms allow exploration and production computers to see the big picture and patterns in the data that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
How we met, 💁♀️🙋♂️ It was a gloomy and chilly November Sunday afternoon. Somehow my plans got canceled and i was left alone in Seoul city hall area (which was extremely far from my place) in the evening i had to catch a bus to go to a different city, so the last thing that i wanted is just going back home and then to the bus terminal again.
I couldn't really message my friends to hang out cause me myself rejected all offers for that day cause i had my plans.
So i lazily opened interpals website (biggest platform for talking to people from all over the world and learning languages) and literally clicked on the first profile of a person living in Seoul that popped up on the top of the list.
I didn't check neither pictures or personal info, just quickly read profile description making sure this person speaks decent English and just dropped a message asking about nice cafes in the area i was at that time.
He registered on that website 30 minutes ago ( i got to kown that later on) that's why his profile was on top😅😅 He had no idea about the cafes tho, but kindly suggested me to move to a different area if i wanted something special. And without hesitation i just offered to grab a cup of tea together tonight, he said ok and the conversation was over (literally just 4 lines, i didn't know anything about the person, it was my most random decision ever xD)
While waiting for him in Starbucks (!) i couldn't chose anything more trivial 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️i checked his pictures and info and to be honest didn't like it hahaha I even started regretting that didn't really choose a person properly haha
I HAD to share the story of this chameleon. Please read 👇 ⠀
Where are you from? Canada. No, I mean where are you originally from?⠀
My response never seems to satisfy the person asking, and they often feel compelled to have me further explain my roots. While it can be a sensitive topic for some, it can also be an opportunity to educate. What does a Canadian look like anyway? ⠀
For many people, unless you have western features you don’t look Canadian enough. It wasn’t until I lived abroad when there would be times this reaction also made me not feel Canadian enough. When studying in Sweden, I was asked by peers, how I learned to speak English fluently, as it is a second language for many students. In Thailand, many people, particularly taxi drivers, wonder how can I be from Canada when I look Asian. There are often times at work I get questioned where I am from - originally. ⠀
While I am born in Canada; and English is my first language; and I grew up in Vancouver; I also come from parents that have emigrated from Hong Kong. And it is this aspect that makes people question my response because my ethnic background doesn’t seem to correspond with my nationality.⠀
But there is beauty of coming from a country that celebrates multiculturalism. I went to an elementary school where you would be attending a bar mitzvah one day and learning what halal food is from a friend the next. The exposure to the diversity of cultures at a young age ingrains openness and acceptance. And the plurality of people is why I call this country my home. While it might be difficult for some people to accept that someone who looks like me could be a national of the Great White North, today is Canada Day, and I am proud to be Canadian 🇨🇦 #IAmCanadian ⠀

Scottish | Hong Kong Chinese⠀
“I grew up in Scotland and lived there for 18 years. I went to a ballet boarding school and my brother and me were the only two who looked different in a small beautiful beach town on the coast. My brother is 8 years older than me and he was bullied for being different. For me I stood out and was quite popular so I’m not sure if it was because of our personalities or because of the color of our skin.⠀
My mum moved away from her family when she was 16, my dad left Hong Kong when he was 19 to study. They met in Glasgow. I left Scotland when I was 18. My dad now has moved back to Hong Kong. I have a strong connection with both Hong Kong and Scotland; I love to visit my dad. I love being mixed, I feel very lucky.⠀
I think being mixed race has always done me favours; I’ve always stood out. When I walk into an audition I have confidence because I look different, I know I will catch the casting directors eye. In my line of work it works well for me.⠀
For me, families are very important. When I date a guy, I date guys whose parents are still together. I crave stability, my families are separated and because they are far away from me I crave that closeness.⠀
It always shocks me that people can still be racist, I still remember the racist experiences I have had. It’s always older men that make comments. The local butcher for example making comments and my mum having to take it. It shocks me because I look in the mirror and see myself, I don’t see anything different. I think I used to be angry but I’m not anymore.⠀
If I had the opportunity to come back and change who I am I wouldn’t change the way I am, the only things I would change would be my regrets. ⠀
I see mixed people as the best; we have the best of both worlds. We take the strongest genes from each of our parents, that’s what I’ve always been told.” #mixedracefaces#chameleon#chameleonism#multiculturalism#multinationals#compatible#compatiblewear#diversity#skincolour#mixedrace#inclusionmatters
---English | Iranian “My Mum is English, born and raised in England. My Dad is from Iran, born in Tabriz and raised in Tehran. He actually only came to the UK to study in the late 70s, but unfortunately was unable to return to Iran since. While he was here, the 1979 revolution happened over there. Since he’s not Muslim, it wasn’t really the right environment for him to return to. The combination of cultures clashed at times growing up, with my parents’ differing views on things such as marriage and religion. I think it has been a learning curve for both, but especially my Dad who has had to adapt to a Western culture and also raise children in one (though he’s done an awesome job). I definitely connect to different parts of each culture for different things. Culture revolves around food, they live for feeding people, hosting people, getting the family together etc. Persian cooking takes a long time and a lot of patience, so we normally make it in quantities to feed the multitudes. My whole relationship with food changed a few years ago when I became a vegetarian, for environmental and animal welfare reasons. Persian culture does NOT recognise vegetarianism, and my Dad looked like he might cry when I told him. Some of my other relatives on his side have taken it as a personal challenge to convert me back to eating meat. For a while I actively avoided cooking Persian cuisine because I couldn’t work out how to make it well without meat and going to Persian restaurants was limited for me. More recently I’ve found a renewed zeal, with the boom in vegetarian/veganism, and even went to a Middle Eastern vegetarian cooking class. I think this is another example of where East meets West and adapting to suit the two. ⠀
I don’t speak Farsi, and this is something I wish my parents had pushed harder with. This meant that growing up it has been difficult for me to communicate with older relatives, particularly my paternal grandparents who didn’t speak English. I’ll get there one day!⠀
If I were to be born again, I honestly wouldn’t change a thing." #compatiblewear#compatible#chameleon#chameleonism#multiculturalism#multinationals#multicolours ⠀

Bedankt! ✊

A simple post showing the advantages and disadvantages of four ideologies. Needless to say, the true ideology which combines civil freedom, cultural advancement and social justice is democratic socialism, which represents one of the closest interpretations to actual communism, alongside anarcho-communism, strongly opposed to "marxism-leninism", the brutal ideology of the USSR which was (and still is) a deep distortion of communism, to the point of resembling fascism more than anything else (as shown by the table). Undoubtedly democratic socialism comes with its contradictions, such as how to maintain a socialist economy while everyone is given the opportunity to democratically vote issues and dissent with the government, but the seeming utopian facade of this ideology can be torn down with a long-term, thorough educational project, alongside a cultural revolution that we must start from the masses, for a true communist revolution to save the world of tomorrow.

Did you know that Luanda, the capital of Angola, is the world’s most expensive city? This is mainly the result of its oil-based economy, attracting multinationals and other hotshots with a big bag of money.
When Gandhi returned from South Africa in 1917, he organized the uprising by small farmers in Bihar against colonial British landowners; this was his first campaign. Today, however, very little has changed in rural Bihar in north-eastern India, one of the poorest states in the country. The low-caste untouchables and indigenous people are still oppressed by the powerful upper castes, and live in virtual serfdom. They have also been hunted from their own lands by rapidly expanding multinational companies. Local activists, claiming to follow Gandhi or Mao, are struggling to save these people who have fallen by the wayside in the rapid development of the country with its famous 9% growth rate. Poverty, illiteracy, and violence are the lot of the lower castes.
