How darn content does he look to be in the snow?? Bliss. //Our long weekend is now over and I’m sitting at work thinking about how great the weekend was and how fortunate I feel for our abilities to do the things we do. It is something I will never take for granted.\\\ What was your weekend highlight?

“There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story.” — Linda Hogan

After a week hiding behind my laptop editing it was good to be back in the mountains... now for another week of editing so my legs can recover! 🙈
In between barking at rocks and tossing them around he’s peaceful and always seems as if he is soaking in his surroundings like here. // Do you think they actually embrace it and soak it in, appreciating where they are? Or no

Still holding onto winter // However, with the sun rising earlier and setting later it has been getting me very excited for all the spring and summer activities that are going to happen this year, both on and off the island.
We found our way to a hot springs 🔥💧⠀
After going for a “bush walk” off the beaten track, we found ourselves in this oasis with a water fall and pools. ⠀
The water was HOT (warmer than a jacuzzi) and we could see steam moving through the trees as geyser bubbled near by. ⠀
It was equally magical and strange. ⠀
New Zealand keeps surprising us with the most surreal and stunning nature. ⠀
Comment below👇 Would you go for a dip in a hot springs?
Edit: Sam’s face was devastatingly cropped. Plz see my Instagram story for the full photo. Sorry @sjmonaco 😭
Today, I had the chance to check off one of my climbing goals for 2020 — lead climbing a trad route.
And not only did I lead the Measure of Pleasure (5.7/5a trad), it felt totally composed, clean, and badass. Today definitely qualifies as a type 1 fun day at the crag.
Even though I was taking a 4 day rest from climbing due to my tendons being inflamed, doesn't mean Smith isn't worth visiting. Thanks @ogdwynna for helping with the photo!

“You live in the Northwest? Does it rain as much as they say it does?” Yes my friends, the answer is yes. BUT - as we like to say in the NW - there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear. Not only do I love this shift in perspective, but I can attest to this adage being 100% true. “Gear” is fave topic among those lucky enough to live in this beautiful part of the country. And gear is practically a religion to those who spend a lot of time in the outdoors. Over the years I’ve shifted from quantity to QUALITY, and as such a lot of my pics will feature the same outfits. So be it. I have a few select pieces that bring me joy, including merino wool base layers (once you go merino you never go back 😂). I’ve also recently invested in gear from Fjallraven, not only for its functionality but also its *sustainability*. They build their clothes to last a lifetime. In a world of so much fast fashion, designing clothes that last is an ethic than Mother Nature herself could stand behind. What’s YOUR fave piece of gear that lets you enjoy the great outdoors? #natureiswaiting
“It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.” —Robert Louis Stevenson

We zijn er meer als een maand weg en eindelijk zijn de foto’s van Myanmar klaar. Hier eentje van Mandalay.
One of the coolest views from Tallulah Gorge is when you’re on this side looking into the gorge. It’s so high that leaning over looks like an aerial shot. Awesome place to explore. #natureiswaiting#seeyououtthere
This is a picture of our little creek here in the village where I'm living. It's called #kösslbach . If I go to the stream very early in the morning hours, it's water flows blue over the angular stones. That's truly the most enchanting view that you can have to start your day🌊
