I am a qualified residential designer and I've worked as a contract manager/ prestart consultant/ interior designer/ preconstruction admin/ Client liaison. Hmmm, missed anything? 🤔 😂 Let's just say I've been in the industry long enough to realise that building a home can be overwhelming & confusing!
I am also a mum and a wife who has recently gone through a first build and now I fully understand how real the fear of making a building mistake is.🥴 Let’s be honest, building a home is exciting but geez it is stressful! You have floor plans to look over, budgets to monitor and contracts to check, there’s a lot to take in!
Going through my own build got me thinking - If I was struggling to confidently make decisions yet I had an office full of colleagues to lean on, how was everyone else doing this? 😮 Where were they going for advice? Who was checking their building contracts? How do they know that their floor plans work?
The answers to all these questions scared me, but they also inspired me to create this community - a platform where I could use my years of experience and the lessons learnt from building my own home to help simplify the process for you🥰

Some days I get out of bed when my first alarm goes off, feel like the best version of my teacher self, crush my todo list, and cook a delicious meal for Stephen and I.
Other days, I cry because I can’t find the lid to my yeti, hide my todo list after starting at it for 5 minutes, and will only be satisfied by a venti salted Carmel pumpkin macchiato.
I’m here to tell you girlfriend, you’ll have both days, and plenty of in-between.
I pray you have more of the first. But when the second day comes around, let the tears be short and the coffee be on point.

Price your home accurately. For this, you should enlist the help of a reputable listing agent. Don't choose your cousin's sister-in-law, for example, who dabbles in real estate. You'll fare much better if you select an experienced real estate agent who sells a fair number of listings, preferably in your neighborhood.
Your agent will analyze comparable sales and prepare an estimate of value often called a CMA, for comparative market analysis. It is OK to compare the Zestimate at Zillow but note the variances your agent will point out because your listing agent should have the experience and education to provide you with a more accurate opinion of value.

Short for Comparable Sales, comps are homes located in the same area that are very similar in features, size, and condition as the home you're trying to buy or sell.
Knowing what comparable homes in the area have sold for is critical when coming up with a realistic price, whether you’re a buyer or a seller. I’m happy to provide you with current figures for your neighborhood.
