Something I have always loved about dreadlocks is they get people’s attention in some way or another. Seems like everyone has some sort of opinion or stereotype about them. This hairstyl gets people to talk , debate, agree, and disagree. It’s controversial to some in regards to race and age. People love them or hate them. It actually gets people to say how they feel. But what I don’t like to see is bullying, aggression, or genuine anger. I’m some sense I appreciate emotion and passion but I don’t like to see it hurt someone or accuse someone of something false. Reading through the comments I saw so many positive, uplifting, supportive messages but also mean and accusatory. I want my page to be a place of discussion yes, but with respect. This hairstyle can be a great way to bring people together and hear other viewpoints. Try to be open minded! You don’t have to change your mind, but can you can listen with an open ear and reflect on those possibilities.. on both sides! Anyways; just to be clear Rylan really likes his dreads... when he said ‘ I don’t want to go to the store like this’ he’s refering to not being a fan of the black yarn! It’s kinda funny actually he knows what he likes and doesn’t! His parents are great parents and let him express his individuality which I greatly respect! And finally remember I am a professional licensed cosmetologist who specializes in dreadlocks I work gentle, precise, quick, and create no damage to ones hair. It may look pulled tight (which it is properly) but keep in mind his hair SO BLONDE like the color of his skin so it’s an illusion when looking at the parted sections :) I really hope that people understand I aim to bring light to the Locs hairstyle and all my intention is good ❤️
