Who would have thought a small spark of interest to study chiropractic over a couple of beers would have landed us in New Zealand a year later? One dinner changed our lives and it became the best decision we’ve ever made.
Actually bringing our cats with us was the best decision ever, I mean imagine coming home from a long day of pathology and anatomy classes, in a country very new, to your furry little felines that’ve known you all their lives!? Year 1 was exciting, mind blowing, and very overwhelming. We instantly made many friends and quite a few of them were Canadians. I’ve always been a believer in Chiropractic, but I never would have expected it to align with my entire life’s philosophy!
Day 1 and we were taught this… “A Universal Intelligence is in all matter and continually gives to it all its properties and actions, thus maintaining it in existence.” AND “The expression of this intelligence through matter, is the chiropractic meaning of life.” Mind Blown! And here I thought chiropractic was all about cracking necks and cashing cheques…
If I still have your attention, then I can tell you that this “expression of intelligence” can only be transmitted through the nervous system (via the spinal cord) and ultimately it is up to the brain to allow the body to do what it does. That’s it! Any stress on your spine can create an interference between the brain and body… This is where we come in. But more on this later... Year 1 was not easy, and it definitely wasn’t anything like my massage education. Honestly I struggled with it, I had to unlearn everything in order to really open up to this new and wonderful concept. On top of this, when the reality of finances hit, Dominique and I had to find work to make ends meet. It was not an easy place to live for a student and we decided to take it on ourselves without any financial support. I found two jobs alongside my full times studies and Dominique was working late nights overtime. We did this for the next 3 years to come, but somehow we were determined to make it through.
To be continued…

🥀💌 Heart broken love letter, mostly healed on @meekkaa
Being a small business owner, we love supporting other small businesses anytime we can. Especially when traveling, you have a choice every time you dine out or grab a coffee.... Support a small business?
Or support a larger corporate entity?
There's no right or wrong answer here... But some food for thought (no pun intended). The choice is all YOURS.
And it does make a difference.
A side benefit of supporting small restaurants is that you run into really unique and delicious food (especially if you're a foodie like me 😉). And sometimes you get to meet the owners and hear their interesting entrepreneurial story.
Like this stylish and delicious restaurant I found in my travels to the Okanagan, @eatatelma. Their Turkish flatbreads (yes, I know that sounds a bit strange...but trust me...) are an absolute must-try. And I couldn't help but fall in love with the curated local wine list, stylish interior + lakefront location 👌👌 What's YOUR fave small restaurant? Share in the comments below and support an entrepreneur. 🔽🔽 #foodieforever . .
Multi-sport leagues are a great way to get social and active with friends. We love seeing recreational teams come out and learn new sports and try new things! **Note - Priority Registration is NOW OPEN for our previous season's captains.
Ever wonder why they call him “Danger Dave”? 🤷🏼♂️
Not only does @davidjurome blow his clients away with his real estate services but he used to be well known for harnessing the wind when it blows up on the lake! 🌊
From windsurfing to hang gliding David used to do it all! While he has scaled back the extreme sports in recent years, you can still find “Juronimo” on the lake living the lifestyle he loves to sell! 🪂⛵️💨
Here is a little #tbt to Dave FLYING in front of Rotary Beach! 🤠

Here’s a few shots from downtown Kelowna. Such a beautiful city! Beaches, Ice skating rink beside the marina, marsh boardwalk downtown with all kinds of critters and a set of locks coming from the lake into the man made canals. Would love to visit this place again in the summer! 🇨🇦☀️

SWIPE to see what everyone’s looking at in the first photos 👀 KEEP swiping to see the insane amount of people that watched as the rally departed downtown Kelowna 😳
The start of 2019 @okanagandreamrally was signalled by two CT-155 @rcaf_arc Jets flying over the downtown start line which was followed by another flyover as the rally of 220+ incredible cars crossed the William R. Bennett bridge.
The amount of spectators that came to watch and cheer on the Dream Rally co-pilots truly blew our minds and made this day even more special for the kids in the passenger seats of these cars for the day.

Our 2017 Pinot Blanc is light to medium-bodied with fruit-forward flavours of citrus, green apple and pineapple. Sip on this crisp and refreshing wine for any occasion. Purchase a bottle from the winery, or your local liquor store. #RedRoosterWine
Some very moody red potatoes (probably from being shoved into the back of my pantry and forgotten about) and rapini! Potatoes soon to be some gnocchi and rapini soon to be going with some gnocchi and a little bit of cheeky spicy sausage.

Just me and my sleepy eyes enjoying a nice walk this morning soaking up the sun, listening to the @goaldiggerpodcast, sipping on leaves from @nourishwithjass with a little bit of ACV and lemon. 🌞✨
Daily walks are something I try to do as often as possible, but when trying to prioritize getting to the gym or any other number of things, I often it let it slip. It’s been something I’m trying to commit to as I truly feel like finding even an extra 10 – 20 minutes in my day can be enough to really have some health benefits. .
Whether that’s just a quick walk around the block before you settle in at home after work, taking time to get up during your lunch break at work or in between classes at school, it’s such a simple addition to your day.
I feel like it’s just such a great way to clear my head and get my body moving before I head to work. It’s hard to make time for it when I go to the gym in the morning but ideally I’d like to both! I also really enjoy walking after dinner and feel like it really helps with digestion (walking after a meal also helps reduce blood sugar and to replenish energy levels)
Also – it’s FREE! So why not just get outside and go for a short walk or a couple a day, and you’ll see why I love them so much 😊 Lol just my two cents for the day that literally no one asked for 🙂 #morningwalkclub#walkwithme#walkingclub
