Quick! There's no one around, go pose! 📸 This place was super crowded with people trying to get the perfect shot towards the bottom, but if you just walk all the way to the top of the stairs, there are a lot less people and we didn't even have to try or wait ;) plus you get to see more of the art!
From Badwater Basin, we headed north to Mesquite Spring Campground in preparation for the long dirt section of our trip. Upon arrival just after sunset, we discovered that this first-come, first-served campground was full, being a holiday weekend... but the camp host was gracious enough to allow us to stay just outside the campground on a gravel turnout since our plan was to continue on the next morning. After a quick breakfast, we struck camp and made a quick photo stop on our way out at Ubehebe Crater. This half-mile wide, 500 ft deep crater was formed when rising magma struck ground water causing a flash steam explosion, throwing rock to form this natural wonder. #combatcrawlers#patriotcampers#explorationoutfitters#sixoverland#overlandbound

We don’t just have weird cars in our group. We also have Toyota’s and Jeeps.
Shout out to all the #weekendwarriors out there who’ve been waiting all week to suit up for adventure. This weekend, @ms_katelynerin and I will be hitting some trails in search of some dispersed camping to test out some new camping gear.
Hoping for some good weather finally... 🤙 .

Finally got to take out the @tuffstuffoverland Alpha and man am I impressed! This tent is massive and the annex creates even more usable room. There are a lot of small details like the lights, multiple storage spaces, and hanging gear/shoebags that make this functional as well. If you're on the fence don't wait, pick one up today!
What's your set up when rooftop tent is not enough 🤔 ?

Today is our big day! It’s our 6-year nomadiversary, celebrating when we sold almost everything and started a life of full-time travel.
There are challenging days. There are days we’re impatient with each other, anxious about bills, or overwhelmed by work. Travel isn’t an escape from the problems of life. But it is a phenomenal backdrop. A pressure cooker that will bring out your true character and expose you to the character of others—not some caricature the media portrays.
And so, we keep going.
In a short article, we look back on the past year and anticipate what’s ahead! 🔗Link in bio.

One man band - simple set up. How do you sleep?
True story: Couple years ago in Colorado, I was sleeping in a ground tent. Around 2am I woke up to a bear sniffing my tent. Call me what you want ever since then I’ve slept in the Jeep. 😂

I threw the @yokohamacanada Geolander G003 M/T's back on and I'm not sure if I'm gonna take them off again.
I usually run studded Nokians in the winter but even in -15 Celsius these tires have incredible grip. I might be able to run these through spring!

It’s starting to feel like way too long since I got some trails in the truck. I’ll have to make some time soon.
