National Farm Animal Awareness Week
I was in tears the entire time I was putting together these collages and am in tears creating this post and writing this caption.
This is morbid.
This is disturbing.
This is the truth.
This is what happens to billions of farm animals around the world.
They don’t receive names, they’re given numbers.
They aren’t seen as individuals, they’re seen as dollar signs.
They don’t get to live long, their lives are taken from them when they’re very young.
Farm animals are
Cows like Felix are made into hamburgers.
Cows like Oliver are made into veal.
Cows like Penny are slaves to the dairy industry.
Goats like Gary are slaves to the dairy industry.
Goats like Leo are born into the dairy industry, are considered useless, are slaughtered for meat.
Goats like Bruno & Linda have ‘special needs’ and considered culls.
Goats like Si are exploited for their sperm.
Pigs like Arlin are artificially inseminated and used to make babies over and over.
Piglets like Mavis (rest in peace) are slammed into concrete floors because they are sickly.
Pigs like Gus are fattened up and turned into bacon at six months old.
Pigs like Wallace are boars and are molested for artificial insemination.
I know, to the very core of me, that NONE of you would ever or could ever, hurt any of The Lucky Ones, so why are you PAYING someone else to KILL animals exactly like Felix, Oliver, Penny, Gary, Leo, Bruno, Linda, Si, Arlin, Mavis, Gus and Wallace?!
THEY are why we need to make people aware of the realities of farmed animals - why there’s a week dedicated to making sure they’re seen, heard and educated about.
THEY are why I’m vegan.
THEY are why you should be vegan.
MAKE. THE. CONNECTION.
