A strange fear.
I can't really remember how long we had walked.. It was heavily humid and my Bangalore lungs felt suffocated..
The imposing trees stretched out in a panorama before me as I stopped to take in this scene and a breath.. While the frogs croaked loudly now, as if to announce my presence, a swamp monitor lizard slid across. I let out a gasp!! I was alone now.. And I was not in camouflage.. I was standing there in a yellow top (I dunno why?! I never do this mistake generally).
I felt a strange fear of the unknown, fear of being exposed. I can't explain that to myself, let alone explaining it anyone else.
My companions had moved on.. I just stood here and the crickets broke out in a cacophony. There were no bird sounds. Guess it was already late for them. The sun was already 45 deg above the horizon. Several mud skippers plopped into the swampy mud houses disturbing the butterflies and exciting the spiders. The crabs went on clicking their claws.. I am sure, there were thousands of them around me.. Watching.
Other than the sounds of nature, it was silent. Solitude. I felt good. Even the fear, felt good. Above all, I felt extremely Lucky to have been here. Not many people do.

Sandy Ground, the fishing village & late night beach area to hang out since there’s numerous beach bars on the waterfront including Elvis Beach Bar.

Despite a rather unpredictable weather, the bouts of rain turned to sunshine & that was all that mattered. The more sunnier side of Shoal Bay.

Shoal Bay beach is rated one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I first visited when I went on an island hop boat tour from St Maarten/Martin a few years back & promised myself that one day I must do a proper visit. 5 years later, here I am. It’s still stunning as ever.

Stormy tropical storm shifts to sunshine & back again. Apparently, it’s been quite an unusual weather for Anguilla. A local said good for Anguilla (last year was a drought) but not so great for tourists. I didn’t mind the brief surprise of rainstorm though, although it gets quite chilly quickly.

After Hurricane Irma, Anguilla had to start basically from scratch & rebuild much of the island. Many beach bar/food snacks were torn up by the hurricane but many have been rebuilt & so is much of the island. Bankie Banx is a bit of an institution in Rendezvous Bay where the DJ keeps mentioning that Justin Beiber performed here when he found out I’m from Canada.

Rendezvous Bay is an absolute sight. Fine powdery white sand with clean aqua blue water. Heavenly.

The afternoon was rather temperamental with the tropical rain & became rather chilly but it eventually turned out great for the sunset. Views from the smaller cove of Meads Bay.

Spent much of the day in Mead’s Bay. The best thing going for Anguilla is that there’s tourism but it’s still not as crazy as the other islands in the Caribbean. There’s people but there’s still a sense that much of this paradise is still yours to enjoy. Go to Leon’s & have their amazing blackened Mahi Johnny cake burger plus fried conch.

Last minute trip booked to SXM & a quick taxi ride to Marigot, the French side, to hop on the local ferry ($20 one way) to Anguilla, an island of 13k people & the location for several top beaches in the world. Finally, some island life.

I love this thing in Vienna, when you walk around aimlessly and see a lil gem. And you keep walking, and then boom, another gem. yup, living in Vienna is not bad. #Vienna
Colourful Jerusalem 🇮🇱
While I recently shared a blog post on how we travelled around Israel and Jordan, I’m looking to write another blog post specifically on Jerusalem. Being one of the most fascinating and beautiful cities I’ve seen, completely rich in culture and history, I can’t express how much I encourage people to spend more than a simple day trip here! There is simply so much to see, do, and experience.
Is Jerusalem on your list of places to visit?

After sharing our photos of Godshill it’s been suggested to us a few times that we paid a visit to Winkle Street in Calbourne! So today we braved the miserable weather to share this part of the Island with you guys, we think it’s very picturesque with the row of cute thatched cottages overlooking the brook! 😊💗

Dziś kolejne zdjęcie z pięknego spa @bluelagoonis ! A w kolejnych postach jeszcze więcej widoczków i informacji 🙌🏻😃
Może macie jakieś pytania? Coś Was ciekawi? Zbiorę to wszystko w przewodnik na Story i dodam do wyróżnionych ☝🏻❤️
