"In the ski season in particular you see a unique, rather nastier injury, where patients have not only the anterior cruciate ligament, but also the medial collateral ligament and cartilage being injured at the same time." - David Sweetnam, Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon.

RAVE REVIEW | "I have a very complex case I have been floating around the last few years lost on what to do next. Dr. Herbst and her team have taken me on and it’s amazing. I feel heard, I don’t feel crazy. We just started but I know in my heart I am on the right pathway. I honestly never thought this approach to healthcare would ever exist the fact that a doctor will call or email you directly is unheard of and like a dream. A GREAT DREAM!" Crystal Corley
When treating, OMP’s consider your entire history; any previous illnesses, surgeries, accidents, or traumas. This allows them to see which factors may be contributing to the problem your body is struggling to overcome and recover from. That way, OMP’s are treating the problem as a whole and not only your symptoms.

Many of the things that help ease cramps can also help with Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS).
Here are some different ways to relieve PMS symptoms:
🔹Take over-the-counter pain medicine like ibuprofen (Advil), naproxen (Feminax) or paracetamol (Tylenol). Always follow the instructions on the pack. Talk with your doctor before taking pain medication especially if you have an allergy to aspirin (NSAIDs) or severe asthma.
🔹Do aerobic exercise, like walking, running, riding a bike, swimming, or any activity that gets your heart rate up. Regular exercise (at least 30 minutes most days of the week) is ideal.
🔹Consider breathing exercises, meditation, or yoga.
🔹Get plenty of rest. Sleeping regularly every night can help with stress, mood changes, and feeling tired or fatigued.
🔹Eat healthy foods like fruits, veggies (especially the leafy green ones), whole grains, and yogurt.

#BabyYoda says: "Important for everyone, flu jabs are."
It's a common misconception that only the oldest and youngest members of the community need to have flu jabs each year - and whilst it's true that the most vulnerable are most likely to suffer severe complications as a result of catching flu, in fact 'herd immunity' is a very real phenomenon, meaning that the more vaccinated people in a community, the more difficult it is for flu to spread.
So by vaccinating yourself, your family and your workforce, you're not only protecting them from this miserable illness but also helping to protect those around you, including those who for whatever reason aren't able to be vaccinated.
Flu vaccination costs just £15 per person at Your Doctor in Tring and Wexham. Call us today on 0330 088 2020 to book, or click the link in our bio to find out more.

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon @Sam_Rajaratnam on the types of running injuries he sees: "Very often repetitive strain injury, or you might hurt your tendons and tissue. A twisting injury or a fall could result in all of the other structures being affected, be it cartilage tears, surface tears, ligament injuries or broken bones."

THROWBACK to newborn Oisín ❤️ I'm talking about the inequalities of health care in Ireland on my stories today 👆
I am lucky enough to be able to afford private health insurance but for some this is a luxury. @alexincork spoke on her stories today how some new cancer treatments will only be available to private patients! How is this fair?
Although, I can afford health insurance when it comes to maternity you still have large fees to pay on top of your insurance for consultant fees and scans. You might get a private room but this is not guaranteed. We went semi-private on Oisín but this time round we had to change to public as I am not able to work.
I was seen privately by the maternity mental health team in December with a follow up appointment made for January. However, when I changed to public the appointment was rescheduled to May! How are my needs different now that I'm a public patient? I was told if I'm feeling suicidal to go to A&E. Luckily, I have a good support system and managing my anxiety but it just doesn't seem right there is a two tiered system? If I have money is my mental health is worth more?
Insurance premiums are on the increase. Recently @newstalkfm made me aware that everyone is entitled to a public bed but hospitals ask us to sign an insurance claim form which means the insurance company will pay for the bed. I was asked to sign this form recently but refused. I've paid tax and prsi since I was 15 so why should I pay twice!
Our health system is a joke, we just to look @my_boy_blue_2017 who is battling with the hse for adequate services for her son. Would money make a difference here? Who knows?
Yet... they're still harping on about the overspending of the new childrens hospital. Surely, it could be done cheaper and the extra money he put to some good use! Poor @alexincork had health insurance but because of cancer she was left struggling financially and could not afford the premium.
When it comes to elections the political parties promise the sun, moon and stars but never actually deliver.
A part of me feels like a hypocrite as I have health insurance but with a two tiered system in this country do we have a choice??? Rant over!

▪️Una sesión de una hora con un psicólogo o psiquiatra cuesta de 45 a 115 USD;
▪️Una consulta de nutrición cuesta más o menos 50 USD;
#fraselev

#ad I hope everyone’s had a FABULOUS weekend! Soooo, I’ve been anaemic (on & off) since my teens & I’m no stranger to blood tests. My lifestyle is a busy one so for me, it’s a real inconvenience to have to run to & from the Drs every couple of months.. BUT I can’t NOT track my health.. especially given that my diet is mostly plant based 🌱
I used the @thrivahealth home kit & was super impressed by the convenience & timescales. You can do your blood test at home with a finger prick, post it back & within 48 hours you’ll get your GP analysed results & personal recommendations — all via your online dashboard..
They provide insights into everything from sleep, fitness & mood to heart health. I’m so impressed with how quick & easy it was! There’s more on my stories, including my results. You can use code SAFFY25 for £25 off your order. The link is in my bio #thrivahealth ✌🏽
