Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” -James 4:13-15 #pilgrimproverb
My my I could stand on that mighty box and plead to the people.. 📣
When we do not have wisdom and knowledge, nor seek wisdom and knowledge, or use wisdom and knowledge, we perish.. We speak and act unkind. The listening stops if it ever began and deaf ears is an understatement. We are cruel and mean making grandiose statements which lead to lies. The further we are away from wisdom the less aware we are of our OWN actions, behavior, words that reflects the very same rhetoric those we are demonizing.
We are all responsible for our actions but also the behavior we have allowed in others that so many are vehemently against of those from the top. If we are calling for the "top" to do, be and serve better then WE must.. The marches, the riots, the protests and the like.. How many of them in those crowds participated in the very thing they are shouting to the roof tops about.? Watched a movie with content that had all the words and phrases so proudly and self righteously scrawled across a white canvas they are against or yet their money paid for the opposite?
You cannot demonize in reality what you are entertaining yourself with.. Who doesn't love shouting "HYPOCRISY," to the elites, politicians and rich? To the left, the right and in between.. Never considering if they themselves are a hypocrite... All to often I see many calling out things that they themselves have done. Or at the very least exhibited pride and selfishness.. Completely dismissing the opportunity to help we they can or think of someone else other then themselves.. So many ask for prayer when in a tough spot, yet never asking, once they received, how the person that prayed for them is doing... As I write this-I am not saying anything I have not questioned myself, have been corrected on and had to also ask for forgiveness for the many ways I to was unaware and my behavior was selfish and unkind.. If I had let someone down due to my lack of irresponsibility. I do look and when I see-my head hangs low.. For the many times I thought only of myself. The times I could have given and did not. Held onto things when someone else needed it more.... Continued below.. ⬇️ #callingallgirls#titus2women

• More Than Enough •
The lovers of God will have more than enough,
but the wicked will always lack what they crave.

When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing.
But when at last your dream comes true,
life’s sweetness will satisfy your soul.

Guard your words and you’ll guard your life,
but if you don’t control your tongue, it will ruin everything.
. #Proverbs 13 : 3
Sometimes the writing process can feel lonely. You lock yourself into a room and you scribble words on a paper, type furiously before the thought disappears, or bang your head against the wall when the words won’t come. You’re often met by the familiar voices of fear and shame. Sometimes pride greets you at the door. There’s always the whisper of “do it tomorrow” and the voice screaming “what’s the point?” .
But the beauty of the creative process is that much of it is not done alone. When I hold this book in my hands, I remember the countless people who encouraged and helped me along the way. Those who were patient with my processing and others who distracted me when I was too caught up in my head. I think of those who were intentionally praying for me through this difficult season and challenged me to be honest and open and real. I’m grateful for each person who was part of the process and know that i couldn’t have done this without any of them... any of you. .
I’m entering back into that time of quiet writing and have been pretty trepidatious about it. I haven’t wanted to sit with my thoughts and feelings and pour them onto a page. I’ve been avoiding the challenge and word that I know I have to share with the world in this season. But I know it’s time. It’s scary, it’s vulnerable and raw, but it’s also beautiful and fulfilling.
To all of you with a word, a dream, a book, or a business inside of you, know that you’re not alone. You have people who are with you and for you, even when you’re in the “alone” part of the process..
Even though it’s terrifying, take that next step... and if it’s any consolation, know that I’m right there with you.

Shabbat Shalom Israel! All Praise To The Most High for His Holy Sabbath!

The battle for a good night’s sleep is won in daylight hours.
"And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?
How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath." - Mark 2:25-28, Holy Bible (King James Version)
Felt so nice, decided to post twice! Happy Friday 🥂✨
DAY 10: Ese Ne Tekrema (eh-seh•neh•tek-reh-ma)
Direct translation: “The teeth and tongue”
This symbol represents friendship, interdependence
“Ese ne tekrema” means “the teeth and tongue must meet. The teeth and the tongue play interdependent roles in the mouth. They may come into conflict, but they need to work together in the same space. They cannot function without being each other’s presence, even though they play different roles.
Re-imagined: Two friends joined together, sharing the same spine. The inner part of this Adinkra symbol reminded me of spine vertebrae. This symbol reminded me of all the support my friends give me and the support that I can return. The back to back position not only focuses on proximity, contact but also on the good posture that the position promotes. By supporting each other we can lift our heads up higher.
Tag two friends that support you !
You are invited! Share and comment about similar symbols, proverbs/sayings from your your culture! Making some Adinkra-inspired art? Tag your posts with #AdinkraInktober and I’ll share it. This project is intended to be interactive exchange and a preservation of some of the wisdom that our parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents have been trying to share with us while we’ve probably been only half listening.

"The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit?"
We do not want to be women who crush each other's spirits. Be mindful of your actions and words this weekend. Ask God to make you aware of those who need uplifting words and be brave enough to speak them.

She’s newly wed

She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.
Adding to her covenant identity this bride has a confidence-“she perceives that her merchandise is profitable. This is an area and way of confidence that transcends any type of “self love”. It’s a deep rooted assurance that what she produces and has to contribute is of value. There is no arrogance, vanity or striving in this confidence. What a gift and a treasure!
If I’m candid, this is one of the things that I most look for when I look to older women in the faith. There are so many conversations about the value and contributions of women, and we’re often not exempt from that dialogue in the Church. This attribute is one of the most noticeable and one I aspire to most intentionally, by faith. To have this resolute sense of contribution and pair it with the second portion of her endurance (her light does not go out at night) means this covenant bride has some history to this resolute identity. May this be said of women of the faith, and of the Bride. 🍁
What attribute of the P31 covenant bride has stood out to you most, so far?
