For the first time in more than fifteen years, he voluntarily boarded a plane for his daughter.⠀
When our soon-to-be son-in-law secretly called, asking my husband and me to fly out of state to be part of his engagement surprise as he proposed to our daughter, I inwardly doubted my husband would agree. After all, my hubby had repeated more than once there was nowhere on earth he wanted to go that required him to fly. He could drive everywhere he needed to go.⠀
Stubborn and steadfast in resolve, I believed him.⠀
But what a daddy won’t do for his daughter! Without a hint of resistance, he agreed. Then, he boarded that plane and happily flew to surprise her—all the while unable to keep the corners of his mouth from curling upward.⠀
Since that whirlwind celebration of love, I’ve reflected on this moment and on my doubt.⠀
Doesn’t our Father in heaven love us even more? Psalm 103:13 (ESV) assures us that “as a father shows compassion to His children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear Him.” The same gifts we lavish on our children—sacrifice, compassion, and unconditional love—are the exact gifts our Father lavishes on us.⠀
My husband voluntarily boarded a plane for his daughter, but God’s only Son voluntarily hung on a cross for us. In John 3:16 (ESV), the overarching theme of the Bible and God’s plan of redemption for His people culminates in these beautiful words reflecting our Father’s love, compassion, and sacrifice: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”⠀
We should never doubt what love can do, and we should never doubt our Father’s love for us. As The Message exclaims in 1 John 3:1: “What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God!”⠀

Yes, I can have a beach body but if I’m diving deeper and deeper into God’s Word the beach body does me no good. 2nd Corinthians 4:16 says, that while our outer man is perishing (getting older day by day) our inner man is being renewed. 💪🏽So cheers to making our outsides as beautiful as our insides. 💕

Pure and simple "LOVE LIKE JESUS"!⠀
First Corinthians 13:4-5 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” ⠀

Don’t you just love it when the sun is starting to set and everything gets this glow, the trees look richer, the grass is prettier, and colors begin to dance across the sky. Everything looks better during this golden hour.
I think this is how Jesus sees us after we have spent time in the word. We have this heavenly glow about us, our hearts are fuller, our minds are clearer, and our path is lighter. He shines so bright in our lives that we are able to see everything through Him. The fears don’t seem as bad, the struggle doesn’t hurt as much, and the weight of the world doesn’t feel as heavy because all we can see is Him.
When Jesus spoke again to the people He said “ I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” -John 8:12
If you’re feeling 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲, that’s a feeling you’re not alone in.
I felt it many times in my single years, but I’ve also felt it married. It’s not a wrestle reserved for certain people because it calls for all of us in various seasons.

Social media has been a powerful tool for the Gospel, allowing His Word to go out like never before. But it’s also a dangerous place. Whether it’s well meaning people sharing incorrect theology or wolves in sheep’s clothing, there are a lot of people claiming to be an authority on God’s Word. People leading thousands astray.
For the record, I’m not talking about Christians wanting to share a Bible verse and encouragement here and there. But people—everyone from stay at home moms to marketing gurus to college kids fresh out of high school—are claiming to be teachers and it’s causing a shift in biblical understanding.
I want to encourage you to ask yourself two questions about each person you follow who identifies as a Bible teacher:
𝟏. 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐰? This may be hard to determine but one way to uncover this is to look at who they surround themselves with. Do they share insights from or photos with people more seasoned in the faith. Is there community God-honoring? Or ask. I love talking about my mentor because she so helped me in the faith!
𝟐. 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡? This shows a commitment to truly building the local church. It’s not about them, but about the Kingdom. It’s not about their platform, but about God’s. And it shows they have accountability and humility.
If you can’t answer yes to BOTH, and I mean both, then I would encourage you to either unfollow, or if you insist on following, weigh their theology with what’s in the Word. This is why it’s important to read the Bible every day and learn His Word. How are you going to be able to discern if what is being spoken into your life is Biblical or not?
Be careful who you allow to speak into your life. It could make a huge difference in your walk.

Honesty time. The hardest part about writing a sermon, writing anything, is getting past the blank page. There is something just so terrifying about it to me. Words like, “This is the one you can’t write. This is the one that will prove you are a fluke. This is the one that will make you give up.” I’ve written a handful of sermons now, countless posts, blogs, and still I can feel like a fluke. Like I still have something to prove. When I know anything I write is not of me anyways. •
Tonight to the one who feels afraid of the unknown. Of the blank page that might seem like your life. Who is dealing with words of self mutilation. Negative self talk that is pushing you to quit. Push back! Join me tonight in telling those nay sayers, our own thoughts, to SHUT UP! GET BEHIND ME SATAN! I will arise victorious out of your ashes of lies and condemnation. •
It’s time we stop fearing the unknown. For even though my page is blank, Gods word is already written for us both. If God is for us, and HE IS! Then NO ONE can be against us! Not even ourselves! Cry out tonight for the strength needed to walk through your struggles right into the greatness ahead!
If you’d like I always could use prayers when writing something of this magnitude. It never fails that the enemy throws me a few road blocks. Thank you. ♥️

You are guaranteed trouble. (Job 14:1)
There is no escaping that. Yet, opportunity is always lingering in the midst of it waiting to be discovered.
It simply might be an opportunity to learn or express gratitude. It could be a time to gain insight and clarity.
Whatever it is. Just know that your misfortune is God's opportunity to work it back around for your good.
Don't obsess over it.
Don't get overwhelmed by it.
Don't break because of it.
This situation is working for you.
Trouble is just creating another opportunity to trust God.
We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

Your promise still stands | despite the waiting on promises from God and the feeling that He might not come through, we know that His promises still stand. He is faithful and He will not let us down. Hold on to hope today that God’s promises are not broken. He will come through for you ✨
“I’m really good at waiting” ..... said no one ever! (Am I right?!)😜
Especially in our instant/digital age where groceries can be delivered to your door in under a few hours & pretty much everything is a few taps away with our thumbs on our phones. .
But I’ve been reading Job lately (def not one of my favs, but I always believe it’s the hard stuff that makes us better, so I went in embracing it) 😜
And the story of Job is one of so much waiting.
Plus, another one of those hard Q’S.... why do bad things happen to good people?.......
I’ve been in a season of waiting for certain things & have often wondered.... is God punishing me?
Did I do something wrong?
Why me? I don’t get it.......
What’s the lesson I’m supposed to learn in all of this?! .
But as I’ve been reading Job & hearing from other places too like the radio station I listen to, & our sermons the
Past few months, this theme has continued to show up. (I always believe that’s the Holy Spirit being like “pay attention!!) 😉
First, I’ve realized.... the world does not revolve around me.
Just because it’s not going the way I want doesn’t mean it really has anything to do w/ me. My situation May play a Teeny tiny role in Gods overall bigger plan. So it’s not necessarily happening to me for a reason, it just may be a minute part of the bigger picture. 🤷🏻♀️
We live in a fallen & broken world. Whether we’re “good or bad”, we will often be hit with the tragic consequences of sin, whether it had anything to do w/ us or not because we live in this world. 🤷🏻♀️
And the thing I dislike hearing the most, but prob also need to remind myself of the most too...... Gods timing is not my timing. In the grand scheme of things, we blink & get upset that we haven’t gotten our way yet, when really as any mom will tell you when her kid turns 20, that it goes by in a flash. And really we need to spend our time trusting God more & use these times of waiting as opportunities to turn to God for strength & shine His light into the world. 🌟
So if you’re in a season of waiting, I’d suggest reading Job. It’s not all ☀️ & 🌹 but will give you great perspective & know that you’re not alone 😘

Check the image out... closely. I purchased two beds for our big dogs. I wanted to stack them in order to make one bed that's sturdier and nicer nicer for them. Instead they always manage to scoot the top one over and make a pillow for themselves! Gotta give it to then for ingenuity!!! . . . . . . . . . .

To understand the nature of being a Christian is to comprehend that these three go hand in hand. Trusting and believing in God is our foundation. Prayer and worship builds relationship. Waiting on His timing builds your character. Implement these three words in your life daily and you'll know God.

Isn’t it ironic that it’s a bedtime when the enemy starts to suggest lies to you? Satan plays no games with studying your life and seeing where you are weak. You gotta choice, will you believe those lies from him or will you fight back with the Sword of the Spirit or the Word of God?
“You’re going to be lonely your whole life.”
Your response: “Actually, John 14 tells me that the Holy Spirit is with me so I’m NEVER alone! I rebuke you Satan in the name of Jesus! I close any door I gave you to even speak to me. I am content in the Lord. He is MORE than enough for me! Get out of here in Jesus name!”
Fight back tonight! Do something different! 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼

The pruning is usually difficult and it sometimes makes us question whether or not God knows what’s best...to that question, I say ABSOLUTELY YES God ALWAYS KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR US.
So stop fighting to get back the people God has removed from your live instead remember your prayer requests. We have to trust God and believe that He knows what’s best for us. @dearfuturehim •
Because even if you have a plan
...even if you’ve mapped everything out
...even if you think you know the way
God can (and very likely WILL) throw in a detour.
🤫But here’s the secret: that unexpected detour is the road that’s going to lead you to unexpected blessings.
So .... yea. Leave room for the unexpected. You’ll be glad you did 🙏🏽

Listen, when you have a relationship with Jesus you stop fearing things that you "loose". ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I asked a question in my story last Friday if you'd go back to your ex if he/she asked you to and most of you said no. But there were a few who said that they were afraid that they wouldn't find someone better than their ex.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Man, that was sad to hear. That fear only keeps you from the blessing to come. How can we ask God to bless us and not let go of situationships that aren't worth use taking a second look?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you trust God's plan, you stop worrying about those friends that walk away or that guy/girl that you were so deeply infatuated with. You stop holding on to people who've crawled back into your life just to mess it up again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don't fear anyone exiting your life because you know that God's plan will always be better than your present. You understand that God's got your life in HIS hands and you can trust the next step.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
ANYTHING God does, He does well! What you thought was the best thing, compared to the blessing God has, will look like crap once you see what/who God is preparing you for. #trustGod#thenextstep CAPTION BY @dearfuturehim
I've said it before and I'll say it again.....your wait will not be in vain. If only you trust God and work on becoming whole. Caption by @dearfuturehim

Do our 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 prove that we rely on God?
Our 𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 is proof that we rely on God. We can say we depend on God, but if we are not willing to put 𝑯𝒊𝒎 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 and obey 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒚 over our way, then we are not truly relying on God.
Our obedience to God shows Him that we trust Him over what we see or feel. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is why Jesus says in John 14:15, “𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒆, 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒎𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔.” The best way to show God that we love and rely on Him is through our obedience. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have you been putting aside what God has called you to do?
God has amazing plans for you and longs to bring them to pass. As we walk in faith through our obedience, we will find ourselves receiving the very things we so longed for. 👉🏻New podcast “𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐅𝐚𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐎𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐝?” (𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐊 𝐈𝐍 𝐁𝐈𝐎)
