We may have a small kitchen but we make due with what we have 🖤
I found this set of buffalo check plaid valances @goodwill for five bucks! I looked at the brand and they are actually Threshold from target so you know they were already way more than 5 bucks originally! 🖤
When I’m decorating a space big or small I decide what I want my focus point to be and in this case it was this buffalo plaid rug I had already from Amazon and then when I’m out at thrift stores I know to keep that rug in mind to get things that are either that pattern or color/s 🖤
I decided to add some color and I think I like it ✨
This year I decided to keep fall decor minimal (more than ever) and just add pops of color here and there. It is funny how I have always loved white, beige, browns, and black and those are the colors my house mostly is decorated in 🧺
Will the housing market go up or down? Should I buy now or later?
It will go up and down...it always does. Looking at some of the challenges Utah is facing with this of this kind of growth... I would suggest that having affordable housing - as well as adequate infrastructure and support systems- will take creative thinking and thoughtful decisive action by local individuals, businesses and governments.
Should I buy now or later?
That is a question only you can answer. Your Realtor can help you find that answer and give you their insight based on their professional experiences. They can also facilitate your decisions and act as your advocate and liaison in your transaction.
As a Realtor, home owner and landlady, I find these population growth projections quite interesting and the idea of future property purchases compelling.

I recently saw a comment on an apartment post thread that went something like this:
Commenter - "I don't know that I'd consider our apartment a home, because we don't own it and it's not where we plan on living forever, but it does the job for the time being."
I really had to think about that for a little bit. I suppose for some, a house = a home because it's where you invest and own the space. A structure. Granted, you don't own your apartment or studio, or whenever you rent. But, the idea that where you live, where you retreat to at the end of the day and feel safe and loved, and share special moments of your life isn't your home simply because you rent it and didn't take out a mortgage for it just isn't something I'll ever subscribe to.
For me, our little rental IS our home. It's where we've continued to grow as a family. Where my second learned how to walk and my first started school. Where my husband and I planned & celebrated our 15 year wedding renewal. Where we found out we were expecting our third. We've made so many amazing memories here. And not once did we not think this wasn't our home simply because we rent. Renting has never stopped us from living our lives well and it never will.
I hope others think that way too or at least realize there's a lot more to renting than meets the eye. Regardless of your current living situation, just know that your home is the place you are in this very moment. Whether it be rented, owned, leased, whatever. A home does NOT equal an owned structure. It's your place of love. Where your family is. Where you feel safe and comforted and are always the most welcome. Don't wait to make memories or decorate or live the way you want simply because you rent. Love the space you're in.
Make it cozy. Make it warm. Make it inviting. Make it yours. ♥️

California has just secured a major win for its renters.
When letting go of perfection is the perfect place to be. Phase 1 of chatting about house projects is happening over in stories. Sharing the reality of getting them done and a space that we've been working on for over a year and it still isn't done (and that's OKAY!!). I'm encouraging you to just start no matter how small even if it's just the planning and to not give yourself a timeline. Are you just as pumped as I am? Let me know what you've been putting off and want to tackle in the coming months!
Have you seen my stories today?! The @rachaelrayshow asked if they could use an image of my removable door moulding project in a show segment, which they did this morning! How cool is that?!Hopefully next time I can make it on the show too 😉 #lifegoals ❤️ link in bio 👉 for more details on the project
The most fun I had building this Murphy bed was coming up with a creative way to incorporate industrial style wall sconces inside the cabinet ✨ I love how they turned out and I’m thinking it’s the most pimped out Murphy bed you’ll ever see 😉 this is just the beginning of this 200 ft2 studio apartment transformation so sign up to my newsletter so you don’t miss the next projects: shelves, a DIY sofa and many renter friendly upgrades in the tiny kitchen. 👉 link in bio to sign up!

When I moved into my LA rental apartment 6 years ago, the kitchen was one of the first rooms to get the “Engineer Your Space” treatment. People often ask me what that means, to EYS. For me, ✨it’s about taking ownership of your space, whether you own it, or rent it ✨ It’s about seeing the possibilities for creating a space that reflects who you are and feels like home ✨ It’s about truly making it functional and comfortable for day to day living ✨it’s about clever DIY ways of making the most efficient use of space ✨ it’s about constantly evolving, adapting to change, and improving 💕
So in true EYS fashion, I’ve recently did some upgrades to my kitchen that have made me very, very happy 😀 can’t wait to show them to you in my latest 🎥! Best way to not miss it when it comes out? 👉 Sign up for my newsletter, link in bio!
