Reposted from @bhammf (@get_regrann) -

Look I mean I could write you a book here but it’s simply just a photo of Bindie and her @django_and_co Goods.. and that’s about as good as it gets, am I right?

I caught my first trout on a fly rod when I was 12. It was in the backcountry in Wyoming on a backpacking trip. My instructor brought his rod and taught me. Ill never forget that moment. I was so in the zone. I was so excited. I was so happy. I was so grossed out holding the trout.⠀
Fast forward to 2012/2013. I just transferred colleges and was sick most of my fall semester at UVM. After being in Colorado with all the sunshine and then moving to a state that was gloomy for most of the winter it was very hard to have a good mindset. I stopped being optimistic and I just remember crying most days and weekends. I remember thinking about what made me happy and where. It was being outside and adventuring. It was the being on the side of a mountain and smelling the morning sage. ⠀
I chose myself that summer. I broke up with my boyfriend and I went back to the thing that made me happy. I went to the mountains in Wyoming and shared the experience with kids. On the first backpacking trip after many many years my co worker brought his rod. I used it that first morning, when the kids were still asleep and the air was still brisk. First cast and I had a fish on. And then another. It was like my first ever backpacking trip all over again. ⠀
I still live in the mountains and I have fished more this summer than ever before. Even with my busy work load, I have placed myself in an area that allows exploration of my mind and heart. I am happy and optimistic thanks to the outside spaces around me. I believe that the outdoors brings a true cure to all mindsets. ⠀
So grab a water bottle and talk a walk outside. Find some greenspace and put your phone and technology down. Do it for your mindset because it does matter. What did you do for your mindset this week? ⠀
Ok everyone..... introducing Paprika!! This little lovemuffin was kicked out of her home because her former owners didn’t want the hassle of caring for a dog anymore. I couldn’t resist... she is the embodiment of love & wants to be friends with everyone. I gave her flea bath and cut dreadlocks out of her ears, so clearly they weren’t putting in much effort for her. Originally she was named Princess but I can’t bring myself to call her that, and Paprika fits her personality perfectly. She does a little happy dance whenever I walk in the door, even if I’m only gone for 2 minutes to take out the trash. Paprika will make her public debut once I get her veterinary needs sorted out. She loves to snuggle & play, and she loves children & cats!!! I’m sure everyone will adore her!!!
Go Seahawks 💙💚 please let them play better in the second half 😭🙌🏼 #goHawks

I wear pink for my mom!
One year ago this month my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at 35. It was a long year, but Jaxon and I stayed by her side. My mom found the lump early because she new her body and had been diligent about checking! But even early detection didn’t save her from chemo & major surgeries.
So ladies! Check yourself! Seriously! It happens to 1 out of 8 ladies! #mymomwon
