Gym in the AM, and managed to put in a good effort of about 40min of strength training💪🏻 20 minutes dedicated on the elliptical, then the remaining 20min was spent evenly on Abs, chest, back, and arms. Always a good feeling throwing up some weight to aid the running muscles💯 .
Looking forward to another week of building! The process never stops, and I embrace every single moment of it! We all should🙌🏻 Make sure you’re crushing your Monday! .

Mungkin udah jadi kebiasaan gue, berlari bersama #runningbuddy baik di race ataupun latihan . As a recreational runner, gue lebih suka berlari sambil curhat yang lebih mendekati gibah tapi seringkali mereka sambil sharing tentang masalah mereka di dunia pelarian, kadang berlari bersama runningbuddy ini bisa membuat gue lebih bisa menahan ego, menahan pace, dan tentunya gue suka lari bareng dengan temen yang sedang masa pemulihan pasca cedera, dan ada juga runningbuddy gue yg sedang rehabilitasi pasca stop merokok. .
Gue suka sih bisa nemenin mereka sebagai runningbuddy, terkadang banyak pelari yang datang dan karena pengen nurunin berat badan ataupun untuk prestasi. Tapi menurut gue, gue lebih suka dengan orang-orang yang ingin berolahraga, ingin hidup lebih sehat padahal memiliki keterbatasan, dan ingin menurunkan resiko penyakit dari pola hidup buruk mereka terdahulu.
Btw mereka di foto yg ini bukan orang-orang yang memiliki case diatas, tapi mereka termasuk orang-orang dengan case gibah selama jadi runningbuddy gue hahahaha

Rest day vibes on full affect🙌🏻 Which in my busy life means “take it as easy as possible” 😅. It honestly won’t be completely easy as I’m currently heading towards the gym to get in some strength and conditioning on this glorious Monday! Longest run in 4 years (the last time I ran this race)! -
I didn't plan on running this race at all. It is extremely hilly and much (almost 5 miles) farther than any distance I have run in 4 years. This 30k course is known to be every bit as challenging as a marathon so I was hesitant until a few days ago. Friday, a friend asked me to take her spot on the relay because she is recovering from an injury and needed to rest for her upcoming marathon. I said yes! She was first leg so I would run that and keep going if I felt good. -
Needless to say, I felt good. Jen Radtke and I pushed and encouraged each other and made sure we ran a smart race. We walked to take nutrition, made sure we sipped water every mile, and laughed as we ran for 3 hours. We even met a friend along the way. "Buck" ran at least 6 miles with us. 🐾❤️ -
My relay team finished 2nd, Jen took over 11 minutes off her time from last year, her son had an amazing race (I'll let her tell this story, but this kid is a rock star), and I matched my time from 4 years ago almost exactly. Not something I expected. -
I met Jen just 2 months ago at a group run. No way I would have completed this entire race on my own. Whatever race you're running, find a buddy encourage each other. It's way more fun than doing it alone. -
This run was completely different to Saturday! I ran with my neighbour/running buddy and started off with the ‘should we just walk today?’. She gave me a little push and we ran, oh boy did it feel amazing! I didn’t feel like I was going to die 🤣 So grateful that I have her to run with #runningbuddy#couldntdoitwithouther#alreadyplanningournext10km
Today was a big day 🏃🏼♀️.
Minnie and I hit the 5+ miles mark of our running and it’s the longest run we have completed in over 2-3 years!
I had trouble getting back up in miles in 2017/2018 just due to not enjoying it, not creating time, bunion issues and feeling weak on my runs. Last year Minnie hurt her leg early 2019 so we took a few months off and I was doing a lot of lifting, yoga, paddling & classes to avoid running without my running buddy and then as soon as she got better I hurt my back mid year.
December 2019 was our first 4 miles back and then February 2020 marks our weekly 4-5 mile runs PLUS some - logging around 10+ miles per week since we run more days of the week just shorter distances due to my schedule and the fact that I love taking other classes, lifting and my legs aren’t always feeling so hot after teaching spin twice a week!
Today we were both smiling on our run - she had her tongue out, the sun was warm and my body felt good! I owe my speed work to @otf_harboreast • strength to @reedsothoron • running inspo to @klcamp16@elanataub & @lizzecca and my body to @harmony_therapeutic_massage & to @cedani02 with @fxphysicaltherapy • my food and nutrition was also a high priority this week and I owe that to my clients for making me stay on track with them 🙏🏼❤️✌🏼.

STRONGER HAMSTRINGS FOR RUNNERS
Absolutely love this exercise in getting the hamstrings stronger, even though it doesn’t look too hard it really gets them working.
Give this exercise a go to build up stronger hamstrings and let me know what you think 💭 .
👉start off with 3 x 10 sec and work your way to 3 x 30 sec.
👉go slow! The slower the better 👌

ANKLE STABILITY FOR RUNNERS!
Really great exercise in improving your ankle and foot stability that every runner should be doing. .
👉go slow, try and hold for 3sec before taking the next step.
👉make sure the foot face forward with every step.
👉start off with 3 x 6 and work your way to 3 x 20 after few weeks.
👉start off without the medicine ball and add it after developing the balance.
