Devon chose a veil with the loveliest edging and the MOST stunning @badgleymischka shoes, and it was so much fun creating this image for her. I love using the details my brides so carefully choose to help tell the story of their wedding day. ✨❤️
I can remember seasons of singleness like yesterday. Fueled by feelings of unworthiness and a sense of being de-valued by many people in my life led me to a dark place of loneliness masked by quirkiness and a giant smile. Even my own trials seemed devalued up next to radical stories of other believers. My quiet struggle was one of feeling defined by my past and silently believing a lie that masqueraded as truth. I just never felt good enough. I never felt useful, beneficial, desired, or unique. I even began to speak eternal singleness out of bitterness over myself. But through the grace of God and the sweetness of Jesus, my worth and value in Him for His glory has been made clear. In January of 2012, I met the Holy Spirit in an arena of 44,000 people, and experienced the supernatural power of the Lord that renews beyond any conviction, routine, plan, behavior modification or willpower. I can stand today and say that I am a victor! No longer a victim, I stand as a victor. (And the Lord blessed me with an incomparable husband, btw) 😝😉😍😘My heart for you today (if this is you too), is to perhaps create a new tone in our culture where we celebrate our personal trials from a place of victory. Maybe we can create a new tone for “me too” and come together as victors over our trials instead of victims.
Something my mom always said growing up was, “You’ve never arrived. “ which boils down to the fact that you should never stop growing, trying, or challenging yourself. ⠀
We haven’t reached the final destination, so don’t become complacent. Yes, you’re doing well and successful or healthy... but that doesn’t mean you can’t try something new or challenge yourself more. ⠀
So GET OUT THERE and try something new! If you’re feeling nested in, or complacent in something particular, give yourself a new goal/challenge and see how that doesn’t light the fire of interest and enthusiasm in you!⠀
Thanks for the advice mom 🥰 @maryannsummey ⠀

My husband sent me a screenshot of his daily encouragement from @thepattern do you use it? I’m obsessed. It said he should find a partner who is steadfast and dependable. Who’s your steadfast person? (Edited to note: he confirmed that he found his partner in me... not that he was still looking 🤣🤣🤣)
he asked: “does this ever get awkward for you”
my answer: “no, i freakin love it!” 😅❤️

Being a wedding photographer is amazing to say the least. It’s rewarding and challenging. A “job” I don’t take lightly. So, one of my first steps in booking a couple is to make sure I have a connection, that our vibe is strong. Nearly all of my brides and I become friends during our planning time and that friendship still stands strong after the wedding is over. Sarah and I connected on such a strong level and I’m so excited to watch that expand over time! I love and adore all of our brides and I’m so grateful for our lasting friendships. 💕

Took a few moments after their ceremony to get away from all the commotion and went to the spot where they first met. It was magical ✨

Can I have these earrings for myself please!? These vintage little beauties may be small but they sure make an impact!
Details, Details, Details.
Small little fact, I usually build myself in 30 minutes in every single wedding day to make sure I have time to capture details...when possible. Some times I have to capture details on the fly, but giving me a little dedicated time - I promise is worth it!
I get asked a lot what the “secret” behind quick success was... wanna know the secret? There isn’t one, and it wasn’t quick.😂 but the first thing I ALWAYS say is, “love your clients and serve them well.” My Ritz Carlton brides get the same exact amount of love + attention as my backyard brides. Jeremy + Kari were my first wedding I ever shot on my own. I wasn’t even very good. Lord have mercy on that wedding gallery compared to recent ones. I didn’t know everything about photography (actually, still don’t🤣). I just knew I loved people, I loved my camera, and I really loved serving. They didn’t come back to me because they had THE best images from a technical standpoint. They come back every year because I love them, I’m invested in them personally, and I served them well. The technical improvements are an added bonus.🤪 Ps: Jonah boy, you are LOVED!!!

I think most of you know this, but for those that don’t, my mom, Tracy, is my second shooter! She’s been shooting alongside me since the very beginning and we have so much fun together. Speaking of mother-daughter duos, I noticed the funniest coincidence when I was scrolling through Liz’s vendor list. Firstly though, how INCREDIBLE is this invitation suite with a custom watercolor of their venue on the envelope liner!? I was blown away! It was designed by the ladies at @watercolordesignstudio who also happen to be run by a mother/daughter duo! And then I was looking at Liz’s dress designer, @mirazwillinger and saw they’re also a mother/daughter team. How awesome is that!? To know my mom is to love her, and I hope I never take for granted how special it is being able to work together💛

It’s crazy for me to think that I only have three more weddings left in 2019. It feels like yesterday I was shooting Hannah and Perrin’s wedding! They got married this past February in Columbia and I just remember it being the sweetest day. I’ll be soaking up my last weddings before I have a bit of a break before 2020 weddings begin 😌
Congratulations to Michael + Rochelle on their engagement! Michael was so sweet to surprise Rochelle with a trip to Savannah, little did she know, he was plotting and planning this surprise proposal the whole time! After a carriage ride around the city he took her to see the fountain at Forsyth and boom! He proposed! So romantic right? Oh Savannah, you bring out the romantic side of us all don’t you!
Check out our stories for more pics of this epic surprise proposal!

I’ve been keeping these pretties to myself for way too long! I have very much enjoyed seeing all of my attendees’ photos from my photography workshop show up on my feed the last few months. It has been such a treat to see my labor of love through their eyes. I am so excited to finally be sharing a few of my own from our second day together. More from the workshop, soon! (full vendor list in comments)
Beyond obsessed with Chenin & Dabney’s wedding at the Lace House in Columbia!✨ Everything was perfect! From the weather, ceremony, wedding party and reception! We couldn’t be more thankful to be apart of such a special day!

Our little Riley Rae had surgery yesterday to remove her tonsils and adenoids. Thank you to everyone who has checked in to see how she’s doing. I will be taking the next few days off from working and will get back to responding to emails within the next few days. I appreciate everyone’s understanding 💕
Has someone told you today you’re out-of-this-world awesome? They haven’t? Well you are, and not only that but you have a great smile, you’re wicked smart & you light up every room! Don’t forget it, friend! #cp_weddings

Two of the most kind, humble, and talented people I’ve met throughout my journey in photography. As I upload the gallery and remember us playing in the rain together, I am so full of gratitude that I got to share this time with you both. I wish you all the love in the world. Again thank you 🙏🏻@micaelakarinaphotography
Swipe to see the first wedding I ever photographed! .
Nearly eight years ago my interest in photography was just budding when an extended family member asked me to help her shoot a wedding at our church. She was an experienced shooter but her sciatic nerve made it increasingly difficult to lug around a camera outfit for up to 12 hours every wedding day. So I agreed and she paid me a meager $50. .
But y’all.....bless my heart. My images were terrible. Just TERRIBLE. The first image is from this past weekend’s wedding because, well, branding...but the rest are a trip down memory lane! .
I arrived with a little kit camera (maybe a Canon 30D?) and that on camera flash.....bless me! I was trusted with the rings and remembered having so much fun! I tried to shoot in manual but failed miserably. While all these images are useable, the thing I remember the most is how proud I was. There was no “industry” for me to look to, only an experienced photographer who kindly mentored me that day and showed me how kind and impactful photography AND photographers could be. This wedding would fuel the spark that was inside me to create, serve, and bubble up with joy while doing it.
If you would have told me that six years later, I would start doing weddings of my own and grow my own business, I would have never believed you. But if I could tell that girl in the purple jacket anything, it would be that the photography world will change but what will change the world is you being you. .
These two made us cry, laugh, and dance all night long! And honestly, what more could you ask for? #savwonthelowery

After having about 6 camera bags, I have finally found the one I love. Specifically my fave for shooting weddings!
Brandi & Kyle’s Charleston engagement session was SUCH a dream. My watch said we walked over three miles, exploring all the little alleyways and nooks we could find.✨🌊 I had the honor of shooting Brandi’s cousin’s wedding last year that she was a bridesmaid in and I was beyond excited when she reached out. To get to work with a family again, reconnect, and take their photos for another big day...just makes my heart explode. Cannot wait to share more! #southandwestphoto Makeup by @lashesandlacechs 👏🏻

the most epic ceremony exit of all time🖤 it was a cloudy day with a clear radar and we were fully not expecting the total downpour that ensued as soon as anna gray and daniel began their vows🙈 smiling in unbelief, I handed my umbrella to anna gray and tried to figure out how to keep our cameras dry amidst the craziness. luckily @zelmarrw was able to keep his cool and capture most of these amazing moments:’) it felt like we were in that scene from “about time” and I loved it so much🌞here’s to those wild, unanticipated, joy-filled moments that give us a touch of heaven.

Fun facts and updates on my life:
1. I am so obsessed with dog memes, my first thought was to begin this post with “henlo frenz.”
2. Tonight I am going to go to an emo night at bar plus it’s Halloween themed so obviously you need to see my stories and see how I embarrass myself later 🤘🏻💀
3. We’re currently remodeling our home and we’re like 80% done I AM SO EXCITED I CAN’T BREATHE. I will have my dream kitchen! First thing I’m making: Croissants.
4. I’ll be in Greenville SC next weekend for a wedding and a shoot but have some free time if anyone wants to hang!
5. I just re-read the book Life After Death by @damienechols and I can’t tell you how much I recommend it; it’s important and if you care about prison and judicial system reform (which everyone should) it’s a must read.
6. This summer, a group of girlfriends and I started having girls’ night every other week and it’s been one of the best things for my soul. I’ve realized in adult life, we just have to be more intentional about spending time with friends, or else it just won’t happen because we are all so busy.
7. I’m so excited to be mentoring with @juliepaisley about workshops, and can’t wait for mine, which will most likely be March 2020, so stay tuned! And check out my stories for more info! ❤️

I prayed over these walls, rooms, beams, doors and even floors for months, and tonight we walked out for the last time. This time, I pray that the sweet couple who follows us laughs, cries and grows together as much as we did within these walls. There’s something different about your first home. I know there are quite a few more to come ( #contractorswife ), but this one... this one will always be extra special.✨
