This year I set a few personal goals:
Run my first full marathon since having Sawyer ✔️ Qualify for Boston ✔️
Work on flexibility
Get stronger and faster
Back to back marathon training puts me at higher risk for injury and I know it. I signed up for Houston a year out and then Mountains2Beach a few months later with the thought that if I didn’t qualify for Boston in Houston, I could try again in Cali a few months later. Well, I did qualify in Houston but as soon as I finished, I knew not only did I want to go faster but I was capable of it.
So now I’m pulling out all the stops to prevent myself from getting injured but also get stronger before May. Stretching pre and post run, foam rolling, using my @rollrecovery R8, my @hyperice Hypervolt, lacrosse ball, getting massages, finally seeing @airrosti for those nagging pains, adding in extra strength and cross training, doing yoga for runner videos, and maintaining nutrition. I joked that training is almost like another job. It’s a huge time, mental, physical, and family commitment that I’m grateful to have the support for.
Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️
The kiddos helped me bake a cake for later. I don’t know about you but I’ve totally embraced being a semi-homemade gal anymore. 😆
I used to be all about everything from scratch but now a days i just don’t have the patience. Ooo unless it’s some sort of cookie then those are usually from scratch.
Are you a scratch, semi-homemade, or store bought kind of gal?! 🥰
Got one down with the what is most likely the flu!🤒 Praying that he gets through this quickly that it doesn't hit the rest of us.😷
Maybe some cardio will help keep it away?!😜🙏💪👊 #thiswinterblows #noexcuses
I've been taking an aerial silks class these past few weeks and it's really hard but I'm loving it! Tonight's class was extra challenging; I only successfully executed two of the moves we worked on but I'm content with the fact that I tried them all. #tryingnewthings#bucketlist#senitaathletics

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted a #mealprepmonday and honestly I don’t have a reason why other than I just wasn’t making it a priority!
One of my brand new coaches said something to me when she joined and it hit me how powerful our programs and nutrition plans are.
She said “I had no idea that I was eating all of the wrong things and thought i was doing it right. No wonder I wasn’t seeing results.” (She thought corn and beans were considered vegetables)
We laughed about it together and still make it a joke, but honestly, she’s not alone.
For YEARS I’d go from one extreme to the other.
🍟Eating junk food and “counting calories”
🥣Eating “healthy” and it was really just eating nothing at all
🥗To TRYING to do it the right way and wondering why I wasn’t seeing results.
The key is this
1. Knowing you’re body
2. Understanding macronutrients
3. Being prepared with healthy snacks on hand
4. Living a GUILT FREE lifestyle and not going into anything with the expectation of a “quick fix.”
5. Choosing foods that make you feel good because they fuel your body with what it needs and not just what it craves. And finding a healthy balance with choosing foods you LOVE!
Some weeks I just stock up on super healthy groceries and because I’m so used to this lifestyle, I don’t necessarily need to prep to make it fit into my day (YAY, perks of working from home).
There were plenty of years though that I didn’t work from home, had a CRAZY schedule, and NEEDED to prep in order to make sure my goals didn’t shit the bed.
This is one of my most favorite and easiest (quickest) ways to prep! Every now and again I’ll prep each meal individually, 5 meals a day, 5 days of the week. Truthfully, though, with prepping that’s not entirely necessary!
Taking a SIMPLE approach to prep, especially when you’re new to it, is often the BEST approach over a complex prep!
DM me today to reserve your spot in this months bootcamp (doors close to our “YOU SHOULD GO AND LOVE YOURSELF” challenge tonight at midnight BUT you can still snag a spot in our #teamnextlevelbasic February challenge all month!)

Do you have a universal symbol of alignment?
Mine’s the numbers 143 and any combination of them. I see them EVERYWHERE especially in the midst of an uplevel. My second symbol is a Range Rover. Seems odd, I know. It’s my dream car & the reason behind it is this:
I live in a small town. The last time I updated my vision board, I added a picture of my dream car (a white Range Rover with tan leather interior) to it and then headed out to the grocery store. While I was driving I thought “how cool would it be to get a sign from above that I’m meant for everything i ask for AND MORE.” Two seconds later I pull into the parking lot and RIGHT THERE is the exact car I put on my board. As I went to roll my window up a butterfly nearly flew into my car and I was CONVINCED that it was meant for me.
Some people call it a coincidence but I don’t believe that.
I believe everything that happens in our lives is perfectly placed and meant for us.
Now, I see my symbols EVERYWHERE. And every time I do I get just as excited as the last time.
It’s one of the ways I stay in a constant stay of celebration, live in more joy, and pull my way out of trying situations FASTER.
Some people might read this post and laugh. Others might read this post and feel compelled to share what their special sign from heaven is!
I get so jazzed about this! I’m excited to know! What is yours? 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 Will you share what it is and the meaning behind it?

Yesterday, I completed my first full marathon! A year ago, I entertained the thought of training for one but didn’t know how soon I’d follow through with it.
I’ve spent the majority of my life very much identifying myself as an athlete and when I retired from figure skating professionally, I wasn’t sure what was going to fill that void. Staying involved in figure skating has proven to be difficult out here in Arizona but I’m lucky to have joined a wonderful running community. Hitting the pavement before sunrise on Saturday mornings and sprinting until I’m gasping for air on the track is totally worth it when shared with such a supportive group of people. Marathon training and the race itself certainly brought some challenges and everyone was encouraging and helpful every step of the way. I can’t thank you all enough. I’m grateful to all of you for helping me get to the finish line! 💖 🏃♀️

Dallas Fair Park Hot Chocolate Race
It only took a cup of hot coffee, wrapped in a blanket with thick, heavy sweats/hoodie, sitting in front of the stove, and then 30 minutes in the hot shower when it finally came available (darn husband beat me to it), to thaw out after this one. When I headed out it was sunny and warm and by the time I turned around at halfway, the clouds and fog were rolling in and the temp was dropping.
I have been wanting to go off keto and switch to a more paleo/clean eating lifestyle. The restrictiveness of keto has had me in a bit of a slump lately.
I tried reintroducing a few foods I haven’t had in a very long time over the last week, and I have been paying for it. I have never felt so bloated. So needless to say, it’s making me rethink coming off of keto (no big deal really).
But because I’ve felt like crap the last week, I’ve also felt extra “fluffy” and felt like it showed. My mind plays some weird games with me when it comes to how I see myself sometimes.
This picture tells me a different story. I don’t see fluff, I see strength, and hard work. I’ve never had that much definition in my arms and shoulders. I haven’t been this size since high school. I’ve never felt better honestly. I just need help remembering and seeing sometimes how far I have I come.
If you find yourself in the same boat, just stop and really look closely at yourself. Think back on where you started versus where you are now. I think you’d be amazed.
I haven’t been posting as much because there just hasn’t been much to say. Until tonight.
My hip flexor has been feeling better the last few days. Tonight was the first time - since hurting myself a month ago that - I was able to do any kind of lower body movements. While it’s not 100% healed, I can finally do some lighter weight movements with very little pain now. Whoop whoop! 🙌🏻
But jeezus did I feel weak doing it. Haven’t had shaky legs or the fatigued feeling so quickly in a long time. Hopefully getting back to where I was won’t take too long.
While I have loved seeing my upper body become more defined and stronger over the last month, I’m so excited to start adding lower body back into my training.
(Probably my favorite gym outfit, Alpine laser cut leggings and Warrior crop top 💪🏻❤️)
It's weird how a bag from a delivery can make you smile as much as this one made me smile.
I first heard of @senita when I went rock climbing with a friend in MN - she pulled her phone out of the back of her shirt and I freaked out because women's clothing doesn't have pockets! Except almost everything Senita.
Being in the UK means I don't order often, but when I do, I eagerly await the parcel, and my most recent purchases arrived today.
Just the words on this packaging made me happy, and made me think about my wonderful friends and family that I'm running races with this year (my literal, biological sister included). We need to pick each other up, encourage each other, and help each other.
So the contents of this parcel also made me smile, and spurred me on to do hill runs (which I hate), with one extra ascent - but then I had this great view with the sun setting and I just felt happy with what I and my friends and family are achieving. I can't wait to run with them.
Never compare yourself to another - comparison is the thief of joy - just be proud and happy of what you've done, and what others have done.
5 breezy, balmy miles for a beautiful #tempothursday run! It was 69 degrees this morning. 🥵 My heat was running a few days ago, then the AC switched on yesterday and will run today. Going back to heat by tomorrow night after a cold front passes thru. This weather is crazy!
My tempo run was 1 mile up, 3 miles around 10:30-10:40, and 1 mile down. Mile 3 was a bit too fast, oops. 😳
13.1 Miles // 2:01:30 // 29 Weeks Pregnant!
One of the best and worst things about pregnancy is that you have the ultimate excuse to do or not to do anything. Every woman experiences pregnancy differently and even the same woman experiences separate pregnancies differently. You just never know what you’re going to get! For me, this was such a hard pregnancy in the beginning. I ended up taking off 3 months of running before I was cleared to run again at 19 weeks. After those first couple of runs, trying to get back into it, I felt like I had all of the excuses in the world to just STOP trying. It seemed so daunting to try and build my fitness and mileage back up. But I had set a goal back when I first found out that I was pregnant that I would run a half marathon and I was determined to get there if my body was capable of it. Towards the end of the race, I had a lot of “Just stop - you’re pregnant!” thoughts. So I found myself repeating over and over again in my head, “It’s my REASON, not my excuse!” I got emotional as I saw the finish line and as everyone was cheering me on. I felt so proud of myself. I was proving to myself and to everyone who saw me that I was PREGNANT, NOT POWERLESS!

Seven years later it’s time for marathon number five. LFG
